Owen sat before the fire. He knew what he had to do right now, but he didn't like it at all. When he glanced up at Isobel, he was able to see the frustrating look she was giving.
"Out with it already!" demanded Isobel. She knew it had something to do with Angel, and if he didn't start talking soon, she will take great pleasure in insuring him to have a solo career in a choir.
Sighing, Owen moved closer to the edge of his seat. He began to tell Isobel what had transpired in Scotland, and before he even finished, Isobel stood up and started to march to the door.
"Hey, where do you think you are going?" demanded Owen, as he reached out for her arm, pulling her to a stop.
"Where the hell do you think I am going? I am off to Scotland." Isobel looked at Owen. Was he really this dumb? That had to be the most stupid question she has ever heard. "Now, if you don't remove your hand from me, I will break your fingers...one by one."
"Isobel, I know you are upset, but do not think you can talk to me like that..." stated Owen.
"Oh? Really?" asked Isobel. She took a deep breath, and turned to face him. "How would you prefer me to talk to you darling," Isobel asked in a sweet voice, placing her hand against his cheek in a loving way. "Would it be better if I talk like this? Should I apologize for being ever so rude to you?" moving closer to him, pressing herself against him and leaning her head to him as if she was about to kiss him.
When it seemed like Owen was about to answer her; Isobel pushed him hard.
"Well you can forget it asshole! I don't have the time to try and pamper you with sweet words while my sister could have broken her neck! Grow some damn balls already," said Isobel, while she turned and started to head out the door.
Owen just looked up at the ceiling.
Why me? Why must the fates be so cruel?
He then turned and ran after Isobel right away. It would seem that he was going to Scotland too. There was no way he was going to leave his future mate, unattended with all those unmated males. Besides, Cullen, will need all the help he can get with this hellion.

Angel decided to lie in bed a bit longer than she normally allowed herself. The bed was beyond comfortable—it honestly felt like she was lying on clouds. She kept thinking about everything that has happened. She wanted to cry again, but she knew that she couldn't. It wouldn't do her any good.
She noticed Glynis was already up and mulling around the room.
"Glynis..." Angel called out.
"Aye lambie? Is there something you need?" asked Glynis.
"Do you think it would be strange to have a tray brought up here for breakfast?" Angel asked, but as soon as she said that, she already knew that she wouldn't allow it. "Actually never mind that question. It would seem that I will have to face them all sooner or later."
"Don't worry lambie. You will be surprised at how many are on your side and are saddened with what happened," Glynis tried to assure her. She had over heard many of the omegas talking while they were doing their household chores. Many of them didn't like how Cullen treated Angel, and were already discussing who could have pushed their mistress.
"I don't suppose a hot shower will be too much to ask right now?" asked Angel, as she smiled up slightly at Glynis.
Smiling, Glynis nodded to the bathroom. "Go on then. But don't take too long," warned Glynis.
After Angel showered, she couldn't help but stare in the mirror.
God, I look like a fright!
Angel gingerly touched her bump, and winced right away. Sighing, she knew that she couldn't do anything about that, but let time heal it. Angel decided to get dressed in just a simple pair of jeans with a tank top and buttoned up cardigan.
Both her and Glynis headed down the stairs carefully, and started to walk towards the hall where everyone would be seated. Before they both entered, they ran into Catriona.
"Oh Angel, I just heard what happened to you. I am so sorry. Was it true? Did someone in fact push you?" asked Catriona, clearly shocked.
Angel was a bit surprised by her. She didn't think that Catriona could express any emotion on her face. "I was pushed, yes, but don't worry. I am alright as you can see."
"Well I hope they find whoever done this to you. How horrible! Oh look at me chatting away like this, while our food is getting cold." Catriona said with a smile.
Angel nodded. Perhaps she has succeeded in winning at least Catriona over. She offered her a smile, as they all walked into the hall. Once they did, many conversations stopped as they all looked at Angel.
I really need to get used to this.
As Angel was about to walk to the head table, Lysander stepped right in front of you.
"Angel, I am so sorry for what happened. I do hope you are not in too much pain," said Lysander softly. He looked Angel up and down, clearly liking everything he saw.
"I am well enough, thank you. It would seem that I am the topic of the day."
Lysander smiled. "If it were up to me, you would always be the topic of the day. Of course I didn't mean for you to get hurt, just that..."
Angel stopped him with the motion of her hand. Smiling, Angel said, "It's alright. I believe I understand what you were trying to say."
Meanwhile, at the table, Cullen couldn't take his eyes off of Angel, especially when she began talking with the MacNare Alpha.
Did she really have to smile at him like that?
"Cullen, control yourself," warned Gavin, as he too noticed Angel and Lysander talking.
Cullen did his best, before he couldn't take it anymore. But when he was about to stand up to head over to Angel, someone else came through the door, that he thought he wouldn't see for the longest time.
Angel turned around as someone else walked into the room.
What the fuck is she doing here?
Angel straightened her shoulders, as the new incomer walked toward her.
"So nice to see you again Angel," said Layla. "Though it seems like I missed some fun seeing that bump on your forehead."
"Layla...what are you doing here?" asked Angel. She never expected to see her here. Wasn't she supposed to have stayed in the States?
"What and miss all this? Besides, I have other reasons why I am here. I was actually invited. Oh, there she is..." Layla indicated with a nod of her head.
When Angel turned around to look at who she was indicating, she saw Edana heading over to them. Angel couldn't believe it. Had Edana in fact invited Layla over? Didn't she know how Layla slept with Cullen more than a handful of times?
"Layla, how nice of you to make it here so fast. It really is great to see you," said Edana, smiling with smugness. Edana knew that Angel wouldn't have liked to see Layla, but isn't that too bad? Layla is someone better suited for Cullen. For a starter, Layla was already a werewolf and not some...human.
"Edana, it is always a pleasure to see you. I can honestly say you have not aged at all since I have last seen you. Still beautiful as ever," said Layla.
Laughing slightly, "Layla you always knew what to say. But if I didn't think it was possible you have gotten even more beautiful. Don't you think Angel," asked Edana. She didn't even give Angel a chance to answer, "Well I do believe Cullen thinks so. He couldn't take his eyes off of you since you stepped into the room."
That is when Angel looked up, and in fact did see Cullen staring at them—or more like it, at Layla. Could she take even more pain so fast? Has she already been replaced and forgotten like yesterdays news?
I love you
...she kept on hearing Cullen words from last night. Or did she imagine them?
"If you will excuse me," said Angel, as she saw Glynis motioning for her. Angel walked to the high table and passed Cullen without even sparing a glance at him. If he wants her, than he can have her.
So why do I feel so bad about that?
Cullen couldn't believe it. What in the world is happening here? It seemed like everything was spinning out of control. He had to fix the problem that he caused last night with Angel, but now he had to deal with Layla?
Couldn't I just have a small break? What's next?!
"How do you feel Angel," said Gavin. He didn't like this one bit. He knew for a fact that Edana invited Layla to Scotland. That conniving bitch! He never liked Edana from the beginning, but always kept his mouth shut, considering it is Cullen's step-mother.
Angel, glanced at Gavin, and tried to offer him a smile, but failed miserably. "I am alright Gavin." Angel tried to ignore Cullen, but she felt him staring at her all the time.
As the food was brought out, Angel couldn't find the stomach to eat. She didn't know why, but she just wasn't hungry.
Cullen watched as Angel pushed her food around with her fork. He couldn't help but worry about Angel. "Angel, you need to eat something, please."
"I'm not hungry MacAllister," said Angel coldly.
"Please Angel. Just take a few bites of something," urged Cullen.
Angel didn't know why, but she picked up her toast and began to eat it. Perhaps she didn't like the sad tone Cullen was using.
Why the hell should I care?
When things couldn't have gotten any worse, Layla walked up to the table. If Cullen could have, he would have groaned irritably.
Angel narrowed her eyes, as she saw a smiling Layla walk up to the table.
"Cullen, if you are not too busy, maybe you can show me around the area, as I haven't been here since I was a pup."
"Layla, I don't have the..."
