This story fits in Geek Pride because the entire story is true, but from an anthropomorphized human point of view. Once you figure out what the narrator is, you will realize that you have learned a lot about a different kind of sexual reproduction.

When I was born I was the first of my generation to emerge. I could tell my mother was getting older and weaker and my aunts mostly ignored me at first. I never actually saw any of my uncles, but I could tell they were around. I knew what I had to do and started calling for my sisters. They had no choice but to respond to my high-pitched calls so I was able to quickly locate them. Only the first had emerged, but her wings were not fully dry when I killed her. The others were still in their cells so I ripped my way in and killed them to make sure they would not challenge my rule. They died, as they should.

My aunts knew that I had killed my sisters, but they didn't yet recognize me as their ruler. My mother, although weakening, was still strong enough and I wasn't yet fit to rule. My aunts chased me around, nipping at my legs and abdomen, forcing me toward the entrance. I didn't understand what they wanted at first, but as I took to the air and flew high into the sky I could tell where my mates were, their scents drifted on the spring breeze. They were all congregating together near the top of a flowering tree. A couple of them might have been my uncles, but most smelled different. Deliciously different, just what I needed.

I quickly flew past the gathered males, only the few already in the air were able to even start chasing me. I flew fast and high, so that only the fittest would be able to catch me. I felt the males very large eyes, much bigger than those of my aunts, track and follow my flight as I passed them. Their big eyes helped them spot and chase me, even if they weren't fast enough into the air to catch me. The buzz of activity as I flew past the gathered males ensured that my next pass would attract many more potential mates. The males are bigger than my aunts, but smaller than I am. I flew until only one male still pursued me and I let him catch me in the air.

We mated in mid-air and I let him continue until we started to fall. When I righted myself he was not ready for the abrupt change in direction and his reproductive organs ripped from his body before he plummeted to his death. Males die after they breed, as they should.

That first males parts kept pumping seed into me until I made another pass through the males and let another catch me. Before mating the new male had to remove the previous males parts, which were still pumping seed. I mated with about 10 or 12 males, one after the other, on my virgin flight. This collection of seed ensuring my daughters would be a strong mix of sisters and half sisters. I stored all of their seed inside me and I am still using it to this day, as I should.

I returned to my home, and this time the guards, my aunts, did not attack me. They, and my other aunts, started feeding and grooming me, their new ruler. My abdomen started growing and I started developing eggs. I grew clumsier as I grew larger and I have not left our home since. Shortly after I returned home I hunted down my mother and killed her. Some of my aunts tried to hide her from me, but as my abdomen grew their resistance to my will failed and they gave up on her. I killed my mother and took control of my home, as I should.

I have spent my life as it should be spent, first attended by my aunts, and now by my daughters. I walk throughout our home, dragging my enlarged abdomen to where I am needed. I look into the bottom of every cell and if it is empty, I drop my rear in and lay an egg. Whenever I wish I stop to be groomed and fed by my daughters. My special 'attendants" form a circle of love around me, and spread my scent, my control, throughout our home.

Occasionally my daughters build larger cells as a reminder to me to make sons. Sons that are not for me, nor for my daughters, but for my neighbors. My daughters remind me of my duty to send sons out into the world so that other queens from other homes can breed and have strong offspring. Sons are easier than daughters I just lay an egg without adding in the seed from one of my mates. My sons are just like me, but limited. It is good to give my neighbors my strong seed through my sons, as I should.

Lately I have not been laying as many fertilized eggs, my daughters are strong and plentiful. My attendants now spend extra time grooming me and spreading the scent of my control throughout our home, as they should.

What has brought about these thoughts of my past? I have been having dreams of when I was first born, remembering the sounds of my sisters returning the call that led to their death. And even awake I have been feeling the messages of love from my daughters, "Long live the queen!" Life in our home continues, as it should.
