I wasn't sure at first about going to this 50th highschool reunion but I knew it would be the last one for sure. My two best friends from my hometown, Dave and Jani, were both travelling far to come to it - Dave from Los Angeles and Janey from Phoenix. Plus after that, I was going to see my oldest pal and her husband just a couple hours or so away, so I was committed.
When I arrived after my gruelling seven hour drive, I freshened up and texted Dave - he was already in town and Jani was arriving the next day. He said he'd swing by in a couple hours because we were going for a fish fry! Yum! This area was was known for its famous perch fish fry!
We had a great time at dinner and laughed a lot, catching up on old times. He said we were expected at his brother and his wife's place after for drinks and hanging out. So, we ended up there, sitting outside and chatting until midnight! I said I was done and should get some much needed sleep.
Dave drove me back to the hotel and convinced me to have a nightcap at the bar before calling it a night. That was nice because I knew once Jani got here, she'd have me fully occupied because she was staying at the same hotel. He walked me up to my room after and we shared a nice hug before he departed.
