As Kelly walked through the door of her dorm room, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She had missed her roommate and the rest of her friends while she was away at home, and she was eager to hear all about their weekends. Sara and Jenny were sitting on Sara's bed and seemed to have been talking but went strangely silent when Kelly walked in.
As she threw her bag down on her bed, she noticed something strange. She kept her side of the room fairly tidy, but the sheets of her bed were extra crisp and clean, almost too clean. It was almost as if they had been freshly laundered.
"Oh my god, I missed you guys so much" she said, walking over to where Sara and Jenny were sitting and giving each a brief hug.
She couldn't put her finger on it, but there was something strange about the way they looked at her, and Kelly couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity wash over her. Something was definitely up, and she didn't like not knowing.
"Hey, Kelly," Sara said hesitantly. "How was your time with your parents?"
Kelly raised an eyebrow, wondering what could possibly have happened in the past few days to cause such a strange atmosphere. She wasn't afraid or worried, just curious and intrigued. "It was good, but I'm more interested in what happened here? Why are you guys acting so weird and why did you wash my sheets?"
"Well", Jenny said standing up from the bed, "I have a paper to finish for tomorrow". With that she walked out of the dorm room shooting a mischievous but apologetic look back at Sara as she left.
Kelly directed her piercing gaze at Sara, managing to apply pressure without saying a word.
"How do you always know?" Sara asked with an embarrassed smile. After pausing for a moment she continued, "You know how Jordan was coming over for a movie on Friday? Well things got a little crazier than I expected."
Kelly stayed still, peering at Sara, waiting for her to elaborate. Sara continued trying to choose her words carefully, "We had a really good time watching the movie, and then,Jenny came over and invited us to a party down the street. We had a good time there too and then came back here and he spent the night"
Kelly nodded, still trying to figure out what was so wild in what Sara had just told her. "So, you hooked up with Jordan, I can't say that I'm too surprised, I've seen you two together. But what is so wild about that?... and why did you wash my sheets?" she asked, her eyes narrowed with suspicion.
Sara hesitated, looking uncomfortable. "Well, there's more," she said, her voice low. "Jenny was there too."
Kelly's eyes widened in surprise. "Jenny was there?" she repeated, her mind racing. "What do you mean?"
Sara took a deep breath, finally revealing the rest of the story. "Well, she was in the room with us," she said, her voice low. "She watched us from your bed."
Kelly's mouth dropped open in shock. "Are you kidding me!?" she exclaimed, not quite believing what she was hearing. "Jenny was watching you and Jordan hook up?" she couldn't help a smile forming on her face while she added "She's always such a creeper."
Sara managed to still appear guilty as she laughed. "I know it's weird, but she was really into it," she said. "And then... she ended up joining in too."
Kelly couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had always known that Sara and Jenny were a little bit more adventurous than she was, but she had never imagined that they would do something like this. She was equal parts shocked and intrigued, and she couldn't help but feel a little bit jealous of the experience that they had shared.
"Wow," she said, her mind racing. "I can't believe this. I knew you two could be crazy sometimes, and everyone knows that you like girls and not just guys, and I suspected that Jenny did too, but I did not see this coming."
Sara shrugged, looking a little bit sheepish. "I know it's not for everyone," she said. "But it was just something that just kind of happened. We were all a little drunk from the party and I was so fucking turned on from being around Jordan all night, and it just happened. I hope you don't think it's weird."
Kelly shook her head, her curiosity getting the better of her. "No, it's fine," she said, her voice low. "I'm just surprised, that's all. You hooked up with Jenny. I pretty much expected you to hook up with Jordan, but.. just wow. I'm glad you guys had a good time, and if you are doing something like that I'm glad it was with people we know, and that you're safe with."
Sara nodded, looking relieved. "I'm glad you're not mad," she said, a small smile playing across her face. "It was surprising for me too, you know? But I definitely enjoyed it."
Kelly nodded, her mind racing with possibilities. She couldn't help but feel a little bit envious of Sara and Jenny's experience, and she couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to do something like that herself. She paused to dwell on her curiosity.
Sara couldn't help but notice that Kelly was quieter than normal. Especially after hearing something like this. She had expected Kelly to be angry, or concerned, or demanding details, but there was none of that. Kelly just seemed to be sitting there quietly taking it all in. "Are you sure everything's ok?" Sara asked, "seems like there's something you're not saying."
There were a few moments of silence before Kelly suddenly asked, "Sara, do you think I'm hot? Like I know I'm not ugly, but am I sexy?"
Sara didn't hesitate in replying, with a bit of concern on her face, "Of course you are Kelly, you're gorgeous and you have an incredible body. Why would you ask that?"
"It's just... I never have crazy experiences like you and some of the other girls. Whenever we go out there's never anyone trying to take me home. I'm always being the Mom, making sure everyone else is ok and safe, and sometimes I'm afraid I'm missing out on experiencing things in life that I will regret missing later."
Sara nodded in understanding, "I can see what you're saying. You do tend to always take care of us, and maybe that's partly our fault, because we are always going crazy and don't give you the chance to be the one to lose control."
Sara thought she could detect the start of moisture gathering in Kelly's eyes as she replied. "I know I'm not like you," she said, her voice low. "I don't have the same raw sex appeal or confidence. I'm just...me. And sometimes, I feel like that's not enough."
Sara's heart ached as she saw the pain in Kelly's eyes. She knew that her friend was struggling with her own insecurities, and she wanted nothing more than to help her feel better.
