My name is TJ and I am the King of Weirdness. I've always been that way ever since I could remember. A six-foot, 250-pound, somewhat chubby Black man who is totally down with anything intellectual, romantic, adventurous or even purely sexual. I'm an open-minded man with many different interests. A seeker and a journeyman if you will. I'm bisexual and although I don't around proclaiming it, I don't exactly hide it either. That's me in a nutshell.
I live in the city of Brockton , in the insignificant state of Massachusetts , somewhere in New England . I went to Brockton high school and afterwards, I attended the local community college. These days, I'm a member of the Brockton police department. Being a cop in the town I grew up in is cool. I guess those two years of studying Criminal Justice at Massasoit Community College really paid off. In many ways, not much has changed. I'm also living with Crystal Bernard, my longtime girlfriend. Neither of us is the marrying type, but we care about each other. I never thought we'd end up together. For a time, I was doing the bed-hopping thing with practically every man and woman I ran into. It was a phase, I guess. I got it out of my system and eventually settled down. Isn't that a hoot?
When I first arrived at city college, I noticed a lot of familiar faces. Key among them was my friend Crystal Bernard. Who is this dame who would eventually become my significant other? A five-foot-ten, large-breasted, thick-bodied, big-bottomed young woman of French and American descent whom I met while in high school. She was rather plain of face, with long dark brown hair and pale blue eyes. To be honest, she was not very remarkable in appearance. I mean, plump gals with big butts were quite common in our town. Most women look like that these days. Skinny chicks are becoming rare. That's okay with me because I like large women. What I liked about Crystal was her sense of adventure. She liked playing pranks on people. Not to be mean but for fun. Never a dull moment when she was around. We both had the same mathematics class. Algebra I think it was. We had a lot of fun in that class. Playing pranks on Mr. Healey, the math teacher was a lot of fun.
I remember the first time we did it. It was in the school gymnasium, shortly after school. At the time, I was going Girl Crazy. Prior to attending Brockton high school, I went to an all-male catholic school. So, being around girls was puzzling and distracting for me. I liked Crystal because she wasn't an obnoxious snob like most other girls at school. She was totally cool. I liked hanging out with her. I was a young man whose hormones were going crazy. I didn't have much luck with talking to girls. They were verbally abusive at times and just plain mean and vicious. Impossible to put up with. What's a horny fellow to do? Thankfully, Crystal came to my rescue.
We were just hanging out at the underground pool in the gymnasium, just laughing and playing in the water when she suddenly kissed me. I was surprised, to say the least. Crystal and I had been good friends for years but we were never more than that. Truth be told, I can recall getting excited during some of our basement wrestling sessions but that's just a normal part of being a man, isn't it? I didn't lust after my friend. Oh, well. She kissed me and I kissed her back. After a few seconds, we both stopped and giggled. This was weird! I looked at her. She looked at me. Without a word being spoken, I knew that things had changed between us forever. Later, Crystal would tell me that she liked me. In fact, she had liked me for years and I had never noticed.
Truth be told, I was fond of Crystal too. I liked hanging out with her. When I made it to the school wrestling team, she always came to my matches to support me. Yeah, she was totally cool and I liked her. Still, I've got to admit that most of the time, I thought of some of the school's most popular girls as my ideal mates. Well, it turns out that my ideal mate was right in front of me all along. Crystal and I left the pool, dried ourselves up then walked back to my house. I lived less than a mile from the school. Brockton 's west side is my home. Crystal lived far away. All the way down the South Side. We went there, and chilled just like we always did.
We were in my living room, watching Walker Texas Ranger and flipping between Law & Order and Smallville. Basically watching three hit TV shows at once. Two friends lying on a carpeted floor. Home alone. My folks wouldn't be home until much later. My siblings came home usually around four since they had after school programs to get to. The entire state of Massachusetts public education system was getting ready for the MCAS. Anxious headmasters weren't taking any chances with students. Crystal and I had gotten through it since we were now high school seniors. I was just lying there next to her and while she stared at the television set, I took a look at her.
