Author's note: Thanks for choosing to read my story. I had a lot of fun writing it! This was inspired by the
Halloween Story Contest 2023
, and as such takes place at a Halloween costume party. The two main characters have a slow burn that heats up on the dance floor and continues to a bouncy house outside in the dark. Enjoy!
On a crisp Halloween night, the atmosphere was electric with anticipation. The promise of a party filled with snug costumes, flowing drinks, and darkened corners excited even the shyest college students (all 21 and up, of course). While putting up the final spider web decorations in the common room, Emily stole glances at Jake, tall with dark hair and dressed in an oversized, brown, one-piece dog costume. He was arranging cups and napkins on the orange tableclothed table. She was secretly hoping he would make a move tonight after weeks of small talk.
"Thank you, Jake, for stepping in to help set everything up tonight," Emily said, cutting the awkward silence in the room. "This would have been quite a task to handle on my own."
Jake walked over, his costume's tail wagging playfully behind him, to hand her more spider webbing. "No worries, Emily. Truthfully, I thought the party started at 8, not 9, so I'm just early."
Jake met her about a month ago on the Quad through some mutual friends. They always had fun when they hung out, but Jake couldn't help being utterly captivated by her full hourglass figure in her fishnets, short skirt, and tight corset when he walked into the empty room half an hour ago. Rather than leaving, he decided to lend a hand hoping it would make a positive impression. Perhaps, just maybe, he would finally get lucky this semester.
Jake steadied the ladder for Emily as she climbed up to attach the spider to the corner. At first, his gaze was fixed on the shoes in front of his face. Her brown leather lace-up boots with brass buckles were an intriguing choice of footwear. Traveling upward, his eyes landed on her black fishnets, which had rips for added flair. Curious, his eyes went to her short brown, flowy skirt with matching brass buttons. If his eye line went directly under her, he could see the tights stopping in a thick lace band at the space between her legs and her ass. He could almost see the curve beyond that. Jake wondered if he moved just a bit...
Interrupting his lustful thoughts, Emily's voice pulled him back to reality. "Can you help me down?" she asked cheerfully.
"Of course," Jake reacted, placing his hands on her sides, feeling the soft leather corset cinching her waist and almost reaching her squeezed-in breasts as she carefully stepped down. She turned around at the bottom of the ladder, facing him. Jake didn't move in time and her body grazed his chest. Sensing an awkward moment, Jake managed to step back and squeeze out, "What are you dressed as?"
Emily reached up to her brass-rimmed goggles perched on top of her short, brown hair. "I was going for a steampunk look," she explained, her eyes sparkling. "I already had these goggles for some reason and then added some metal bits to pull it all together. Does it work?"
Before Jake could respond, a noticeable shift in the room's energy caught their attention. Their gaze turned toward the doorway where a group of people walked in dressed in a myriad of costumes and bearing bottles of booze. One dark figure with long blond hair walked directly towards them, draped in a snug, ebony lace dress that clung to her every curve. The bodice accentuated her larger-than-average breasts with a striking blood-red pendant nestled alluring between her cleavage.
"Emily," the sexy figure purred, "this looks good. I might have gone for something more creepy and less middle school dance, but it'll do."
"Thanks, Sarah," Emily replied with a slight edge to her tone. "Everything should all be set up now unless you want to add anything else."
Sarah, ignoring Emily, shifted her attention to Jake and zeroed in on his costume. "Oh, this is an interesting costume," she remarked, walking close, and pinching Jake's dog ear.
Jake's heart began to race as he felt Sarah pressing into his body. He mustered an attempt at a sultry reply, "Thanks." He took an inhale of her spicy scent and glanced at her tantalizing cleavage. The closeness caused his cock to jump slightly.
With a disdainful wrinkle of her nose, Sarah backed away, saying, "Too bad it also smells like a dog." She gave a dismissive flick of her hand and sauntered out of the room, leaving an air of chilly arrogance in her wake.
"Whoa. Who's that?" Jake asked Emily, equally curious about her mean-girl attitude as he was about his physical response.
Emily glanced around the room evaluating her decoration choices. "That's Sarah, she said, gesturing towards the striking woman in question. "She was supposed to be my co-planner for the costume party. She planned the games in the other room, and I planned this." She motioned around the room with a hint of self-doubt. "I guess it is a bit childish."
"Nah," Jake responded with a chuckle, his gaze drifting towards Sarah's backside as she walked away and then to the blow-up pumpkin in the corner. "Maybe just a little childish, but that doesn't mean it's bad."
Emily nodded in agreement. "Sarah's okay most of the time, but she can be a bit spicy," she explained. Her eyes shifted to Jake and leaned in to take a whiff of his costume. "And you don't smell," she said with a playful smile.
"Thanks for saying that, but I did borrow this from a friend who has a dog. It probably does smell, which I hope makes me that much more authentic," Jake earned a giggle from Emily. "You have a great laugh."
Emily could feel her cheeks warming up, and she hoped she wasn't turning too bright a shade of red from embarrassment. "Thanks," she managed to say, summoning her confidence. "You're pretty funny."
They shared a lingering gaze as Jake stepped closer to Emily. Suddenly, louder voices in the hallway interrupted the moment causing them to jump.
"Jake! Let's get this party started," Ethan yelled as he strolled into the room, carrying a case of beer in one hand and a bottle of tequila in the other.
Jake walked over to him, greeting him with enthusiasm, "Glad you could make it!" However, Jake couldn't help but wish Ethan had arrived just a few minutes later, preserving the moment he'd nearly had with Emily. "This is Emily," Jake introduced, nodding toward her. "And this is one of my roommates, Ethan. Is Max coming, too?"
"Ahh, who knows? You know how he gets at group events. He's such a bit of an introvert," Ethan providing context, looking at Emily.
"Well, I'm glad
you
could make it, Ethan, or should I say Spiderman," Emily commented, her eyes scanning Ethan's perfectly tight Spiderman suit, noting his muscular build. "I love this costume."
"Costume? Is this a costume party? I just wore my day-to-day crime-fighting outfit," Ethan joked, playfully flexing his biceps.
Emily laughed at the joke, finding it hard not to notice Ethan's well-toned abs under that suit and the huge bulge just beneath it.
