"You know something, Babe?" Liv relaxed on one side of her recliner couch, naked except for the colorful silk robe that covered her back and shoulders.
Betty was also naked sprawled out, face-down with her torso rested on Liv's lap and her legs extended out to the other cushion. Her arms folded into a pillow on the arm of the couch, "Mmmmm... Tell me."
Liv's right hand moved in gentle circle across Betty's bare back while the fingers of her left hand were between the cheeks of her backside. "You, Gorgeous Girl.. have a VERY... Sexy Butt!"
Betty responded by squeezing those cheeks together. It was a thrilling sensation that made Liv gasp with sudden delight. When Betty's muscles relaxed, Liv's fingertip slid just inside her sphincter. She loved that she was able to relax like this, with such intimate, and unhurried physical contact. The two women had no demands on each other. They just enjoyed the touching.
The television was cycling through music videos, from Madonna's LIKE A PRAYER to the Four Non Blondes with Linda Perry's classic steampunk top hat and goggles. Really, it was just background noise neither woman cared much about.
"What's on your mind?"
"Actually, I was thinking about a book I read recently."
Liv chuckled, "Ok. Tell me about it."
"It's called LEGENDS AND LATTES. Cozy fantasy so there's Orcs and Elves and Dwarves, but it's about a coffee shop instead of like an epic fantasy battle or something."
"Makes sense."
"Well, the main character who owns the coffee shop is the only one at the start who's ever had coffee before. The town's never even heard of it."
"That's different."
"It is. I think that part of the author's fantasy is being able to introduce coffee to people who've never tried it before. Throughout the story, the characters develop or discover things we have in our world like iced coffee, cinnamon rolls, breakfast croissants, all that. I was just thinking how interesting that would be, seeing someone's face when they tried coffee or a cinnamon roll for the first time."
"That is an interesting thing to imagine."
Betty turned her head enough that she could see Liv's face from the corner of her eye. "Your turn. What are you thinking?"
"I was just thinking how... perfectly adorable you are, My Love."
Betty smiled and shifted so she could kiss Liv's bare thigh, then resumed resting on her forearms. "Another big fantasy of the book is that things just... work out for the characters. They start a business, earn enough to keep growing, get a steady customer base, they get designers who can make their facility bigger, a baker who keeps trying new recipes for them. Things just... go their way."
"It'd be great if that's the way things always worked out. Wouldn't it, Babe?"
"Yeah... Yeah, it would."
A short while later, there was a buzzing from the table beside the couch, "Phone call for you, Love."
"Right now, I could not care less." The buzzing went on for about a minute, followed by a smaller buzz several seconds later to indicate a voicemail.
Several seconds after that, Liv's phone began to buzz. She picked it up with her right hand, leaving her left hand in Betty's backside. She frowned when she saw the screen, a sudden uneasy feeling coming over her, "It's your son, Babe."
Betty rotated, showing a concerned expression. "What?"
Liv slid her thumb across the screen to answer, "Hi Dylan. You're on speakerphone."
From the tone of his voice, both women could instantly recognize he was upset. "H... Hi, Mom. Hi, Liv. I, uh.... I'm sorry to bother you both."
Betty spoke abruptly, "It's fine, Sweetheart. What's going on?"
"There's ah... The... Paramedics are here. Grandpa's being taken to the hospital."

Dylan sat in the waiting room. His foot bounced up and down with anxious energy. He glanced up when he noticed two women walking through the big doors, then stood as soon as he saw who it was, "Hi Mom"
Betty threw her arms around him fiercely, "Oh Sweetheart." They held the embrace for a long time.
Once they pulled apart, he said, "Hey Liv."
"Hi Honey," she answered, hugging him with the same affection.
Betty went to the counter to get an update from the nurse on Hank's condition. Dylan and Liv sat down, and she was quick to take hold of his hand, "Hey... I'm proud of you, Sweetheart."
He tilted his head, "For what?"
"Getting him here."
Dylan let out a sardonic huff, "The ambulance brought him here."
