Lt. Jake Buck had finally graduated from the United Earth Marine flight school. He would soon be a first lieutenant and be issued his Scorpion 2 fighter. Three weeks later, Jake's squadron, the 2nd squadron, was launched. They were to provide backup for the 1st squadron which was to land on TC4 and provide damage assessment and help any survivors of the attack, if any.

The USS Guadalcanal physicians would do an autopsy and the data obtained would be put into the ship's database.
