T'Pol arrived at the medical bay at 8:00pm sharp, as she had promised.
Dr. Phlox was standing in front of the computer display wall, which showcased a 3D animation of a section of the ship.
After a brief pause, T'Pol said, "Doctor?" interrupting him.
"Ah, yes, Subcommander! Indeed, this is an intriguing breakthrough! The simulation has found the reason why your suppressive medication failed," Dr. Phlox said, in an enthusiastic voice.
"I am listening," T'Pol responded, before she sat in the nearest chair.
"The interaction simulation of your food and drink list against the sub-molecular structure of the inhibitor found that the black tea caused your medication to fail. One component of the tea acts as a very potent metabolic catalyst, causing the active agent to quickly metabolize in cells, so that it practically has no effect."
"I see. I started drinking tea maybe two months ago," T'Pol stated, calmly. "Now I will stop consuming it immediately!" she continued.
"Yes, but unfortunately, the damage is already done, and your condition won't revert fast enough, Subcommander!" Dr. Phlox answered.
T'Pol squirmed in her chair anxiously. "But this does not explain why my cycle has started almost three years earlier than it was supposed to, Doctor," she said, while attempting to analyze her situation.
"I believe I have found the answer to that as well, by examining automatic air and wastewater samples taken over time in the same section where your quarters are," Dr. Phlox said, gesturing toward the huge computer screen where the animation spun around Section B.
"This, here, is your cabin," Dr. Phlox said, pointing to a red square on the screen from which a red haze began to spread, filling the whole of Section B and three deck levels.
"What am I looking for here?" T'Pol inquired, while attempting to analyze the animation on the screen.
"It is the spread of your pheromones since your inhibitors failed. As you can see, almost the entire Section B is affected. The section-level air purifiers cannot filter it all out, as you are emitting pheromones more and more to attract males for mating," Dr. Phlox said, triumphantly, clearly proud of his finding.
"That's a logical explanation for the pheromone spread, but what caused this high level of emissions? I see no clear reason for that," T'Pol stated calmly, while studying the screen in disbelief.
The animation then changed to an almost transparent blue, covering most of the section. "Look!" Dr. Phlox exclaimed, as the blue color started to intensify, making the area bright blue.
"This is... a certain residue analyzed by wastewater recyclers," Dr. Phlox noted, with a hint of hesitation in his voice. "It can only be found in semen produced by human males..." he continued.
