To those who seem invested in the series and might wonder why Chapter 5 is taking so long: I kinda wrote part of it, scrapped it, decided to spend 4 days drawing out floor-plans for organizing Kai's house (bc I'm nuts), and now my semester's schoolwork is picking up. Anyway, here's Chapter 4.

The Last Son: Chapter 4
I reached for her hands and let her lift me off the ground. My knee and head were sore from their impacts, but I noticed the rest of my body was free from any aching. My body was returning to its normal weight, and my muscles had regained most of their strength.
"Wait a minute," I said as I began to put a few pieces together. "Do your boobs have healing properties?"
"You're just realizing this now?" Kai asked, her tone incredulous. "It's a good thing too; you seem to fall quite a lot."
"Hey! That's... okay, that's fair. Couldn't you just wave your hand and make me all better?" I asked.
"You were a hair's breadth from death when Acer brought you here. Human forms can be fickle when it comes to magic. Healing you too quickly was just as likely to kill you as sending you back where you came from." Her mouth turned to a grin. "With the way you responded, you can't convince me you didn't enjoy it. I know I did."
"That tracks. I can see how titty milk was a better call. Still, kinda weird if I'm being honest with you." My comment made her laugh. "Where is 'here' exactly? I've noticed that the plants and landscape outside are mismatched."
"Well, this is the land of the gods. What 'belongs' is whatever I desire. On that note, I don't want you to be overwhelmed when you leave this room," she explained. "We gods are not limited by current mortal technology, so there will be much here that is foreign to you."
She opened the door and led me into the hallway. Along the walls, glowing sconces were mounted that did not have flames. A long green rug stretched across the wooden floors of the hallway, adorned with intricate floral patterns. We walked down the hall and entered the washroom. It was expansive, with marble tiles lining the floor. Glass panes sectioned off an entire corner of the room, and a metal fixture in the wall pointed downwards at the floor. A dial was mounted below it. A large porcelain tub, large enough to fit several people, was built into a raised section of the room with a metal spigot positioned above it. A porcelain chair had a hole in the center, similar to an outhouse, with water in the bottom and a lever on its back.
"Behold, indoor plumbing." She stood at a marble basin placed atop a cabinet and turned one of two dials. Water flowed from a spout into the basin and drained at the bottom. It was peculiar, but it wasn't mind-blowing. "Oh, come on! I thought you'd be more impressed, this will be one of the most significant advancements ever in public health. It's going to save so many lives!"
"Well, I hope the elves and dwarves appreciate it," I mumbled, knowing that I was the only member of the human public here to enjoy 'Running Water 2.0'.
"You're no fun. If this is what it'll be like introducing you to new things, I'm just gonna do this." Kai stopped the water and walked over to me. She raised her right pointer finger, a glowing white light at its end, and touched it to my forward. Looking back around the room, I knew the appliances I was looking at.
"If you wanted to get me excited, you should have started with the shower!" I ran to open the shower door and turned on the hot water. "This is a fucking game changer!"
