"That is a kind offer, Senator but I must decline. My team's main objective is to destroy the Me'ria and put a total stop to their colonization of planets," Drayk said forcibly. He would love to see a terak as this translucent substance was the most sought-after prize throughout the galaxy. It was used to provide limitless fuel to ships and could be made to create near-indestructible weapons and armor.

Drayk had heard countless stories of the Brocklern army whose translucent armored suits and weapons were made of teraks. They had won countless battles over the centuries and protected the galaxy. The only drawback to terak was that it could shatter without warning. The Brocklern learned that the hard way as their armor shattered during an intense battle with an invading alien race. They were quickly wiped out.

There was no way to know what amount of pressure, force, cannon power, lasers, or powered explosions could make it shatter. There was no way to predict when it will crumble which made it a difficult liability for the military but it was also a huge asset until it shattered.

Teraks could also keep an airship or spaceship fueled for months before it needed to be fueled again which meant that further exploration of planets and moons was possible. This was a huge finding that would change the galaxy at large especially if Colbix found it first. It would make him the galaxy's wealthiest man.

Ashor looked at Drayk in confusion as she could not believe that he was turning down this once-in-a-lifetime offer. Colbix continued to smile as if he had not heard Drayk's response.

"This mission would come with a huge reward for you and your team. I want to offer you a pound of terak if you find it in the Ridgeyawn Desert."

Ashor's eyes grew big in amazement at what Colbix had just said. Drayk was stunned too. A pound of terak could mean various weapons and even amour for his team. They would be even more formidable in battle with the Me'ria. They could even use it to fuel their own spaceship that had been in the shop for months now due to a suspension problem. Shit, they could even sell it and get millions for it.

Drayk hesitated before answering. There were so many fantasies playing out before him. He looked over at Ashor. She was staring at her Captain hopefully. He knew that to turn down this mission would mean a loss of a prized possession that could go to another team of soldiers who found it for Colbix.

It was just a scouting mission though it did not mean that teraks was truly in that desert area. They would have to go and see if they could find it. It was not a guarantee. What was the harm in at least searching for the material?

Drayk cleared his throat. "You said you spoke to Mj. Lyton about this so he is aware of this mission?"

"Yes. I asked him to send you both here so I could speak to you about this. I had hoped to discuss it after you had sampled my whores but it seemed that that was not in the cards," Colbix said with a smile.

"How soon would we be required to depart?" Drayk asked him. He tried not to look at Walla because he was so tempted to still sample her.

"I was hoping by week's end. I am having a map drawn up for the mission and will also supply you with Nano-cases to bring back the teraks."

Drayk nodded. "Ok. We should be ready to go by then. We are guaranteed a pound of terak if we find it, correct?"

"Yes, Captain. You can do with it as you please," Colbix said.

"Ok."

"I am happy to hear that you have accepted, Captain." Colbix extended his hand towards Drayk and he hesitated slightly before shaking it. He also extended his hand to Ashor who shook it heartily.

"Are you sure that you don't want to have some time with my whores?" Colbix asked them. "It is free of charge and your reward for the mission you have just undertaken for me."

"No, thank you, Senator. We must be going," Drayk said. He did not want to be in the Senator's debt if he could avoid it.

"Ok. I will have everything that I know about the teraks' location sent to your Major within the next few days. I will have Chio drive you back to the base," Colbix said.

"Thank you, Senator," Ashor said with a big smile. Her excitement overflowed from her being and it made Drayk smile. He loved to see Ashor smile.

They walked back inside and towards the front door. Chio had been called back as he appeared before them. He seemed a little embarrassed from his previous flight.

"Chio, please take the Captain and Lieutenant back to the base," Colbix said.

"Yes, sir."

"Thank you for coming here, Cpt. Drayk and Lt. Ashor. I sure hope that we all prosper from this new mission," Colbix said with a smile.

"Good day, Senator," they both said. They followed Chio outside and back to the car.

"My god! Teraks!" Ashor whispered to Drayk. She was beaming from her excitement. "The things we could do with that! What are you thinking that you would do with it? Make armor?"

"We must see if it really exists in that desert first before we think about what to do with it," Drayk said with a grin. "But, yes, I would make amour and weapons."

"No, my life has been dedicated to seeing the Me'ria eliminated. I care not about a life of leisure or riches," Drayk said without hesitation.
