Chapter 25: First day at school
'Welcome back. Special student Simon. As you know, the planar university has taken it upon ourselves to guide you without prompting. If this service is unappreciated say so and we will stop. As for the information we are going to provide, you have one class toady which starts at noon. We would advise you attend for you have entered in the middle of a semester, the teacher has already been briefed about you. There is also the 1st year special class you are advised to enter. This class houses all of the 1st year new students and we believe it is good for you to connect with your peers.'
The moment he was back at the school, he was hit with a minor lecture from the disembodied voice who rattled on what he needed to. This should have been annoying, but Simon secretly found it endearing. It felt like someone outside of Amy actually cared even it was from a disembodied voice.
Simon was back at the university with nothing but the school robes and the clothes on he wore. After a long time lying on bed lacking the energy to do anything, this was the answer he came to.
Leave the empty house where there was no-one waiting for him and come to stay school. Anything beyond that was still a work in progress.
But he was still not at that point especially since he was given more so he asked the voice.
"I want to move to the dorms."
'I see. Yes. There are rooms open to you. Do you wish to choose your own or may we do it for you?'
"Sure... Um... Where do I go to get to my first class?"
This was something Simon had never done before and while he knew what to do in theory, he was feeling rather anxious, especially after what happened that morning.
'Follow my directions.' The voice began.
It took him about ten minutes to get to his classroom and this time he was not looked at weirdly which was good because he was not in the right headspace at the moment.
He arrived at a large translucent glass structure that was hazy enough that he could make out what was inside but still get the natural impression it was trying to give off.
Taking in a steady breath he entered the large building with Amy on his tail.
He opened the glass doors and entered the building only to find that he had entered a completely different world.
He was surrounded by greenery on all fronts none of which was uniform like he had expected in a garden. Everything was allowed to grow in a very wild and natural fashion. Yet, somehow they managed to retain a beauty that he found hard to describe.
There was the scent of earth and nature in the air, the smell you get when there is rain in the countryside, and everything becomes doused in the smell of wet earth. It was not an unpleasant sensation, if anything Simon found it very soothing to his nerves so much so that a bit of the distress and resentment he carried at the beginning of the day seemed to slowly wash away.
He started to slowly stroll taking in the flora and with every step, he took he felt lighter and lighter. There was a beauty here he had never experienced before but the crowning jewel of it all was the massive tree that was the centerpiece of this entire ecosystem.
There were many of these gargantuan trees strewn all across the space and combined they made the ceiling of the building a spiderweb of leaves and branches, but there was something special about the one in the center, something that attracted him. His legs carried him to that work of art without any input from his frontal cortex, he was simply drawn to it.
The closer he got the more impressive the tree looked. The trunk was so wide that he could comfortably carve out a house larger than his, and so tall that it reached the very top of the building which was already so massive. A part of Simon felt sad, the tree looked like it was caged in, the canopy that covered about a third of the entire structure wanting and failing to move further up. Yet it did diminish the sense of wonder at seeing something so magnificent.
Soon he was at the base of the tree where other people in similar robes were milling about. Now so close to the magnificent part of nature, he felt so small, that his problems were so trivial.
Simon let out a sigh, it made his shoulders relax, his worries fade away, and his breath calm and steady. Since this morning, it was the first time he felt at ease.
His ruminations were broken when he heard a deep smoky voice that somehow combined kind and sexy ring throughout the area.
"Welcome back, my precious students. I hope you had a brilliant morning and thank you for coming to my humble class. Now, let us begin our next chapter in 'Survive the Wilds, for Beginners'. Please turn to page 112."
Chapter 26:A New Friend
The echoing sound attracted Simon's eye to the speaker who stood at the base of the massive tree. Amy mirrored him as her ears also stood straight and pointed at the same direction.
But before he could get a good look the earth trembled and almost threw him off balance. From within the ground green vine-like tentacles came up and wiggled around catching shifting his attention immediately. Everyone else seemed to be fine with what was going on as if it was a normal occurrence but it left Simon's entrance.
The vines started wrapping into themselves making specific shapes and within a second he realized exactly what was going on. Chairs and tables were being made for everyone.
Simon was entranced by the magic being performed in front of his very eyes. The wonder made him realize that before coming to this school he had never seen real magic being performed, while all his family members supposedly could perform fantastical feats, he had never seen them in action.
Not knowing what else to do, he took the nearest seat and sat on the material and felt like he was sitting on a soft cushion and yet the table in front of him was hard and firm. Amy took the chance to hop onto his lap and make herself more comfortable on her favorite piece of furniture.
"You're new here?" a voice asked coming right next to him.
Simon turned to see a boy his age looking right at him sitting less than five feet away on another set of vine fixtures. He looked gaunt with his eyes and cheeks sunken in. There were dark circles beneath his eyes which combined with his piercing blue eyes gave him quite a severe look. He still carried the trend of every man outside his father looking unimpressive.
But the two voluptuous women on their knees rubbing themselves on his legs were anything but. Simon could not make out much other than that they were very curvy, had white rabbit legs and ears, had tan skin, and looked extremely fuck-able. Simon could somehow feel the horniness they gave off as if it was a physical presence.
"Cool, right?" The gaunt boy asked.
Simon's attention turned to the boy from the horny rabbit girls. He started talking unprompted.
"Road-born rabbits, a rare variant of rabbit girls. Unlike the normal ones that are only good for running away and fucking these little monsters also pack a punch."
There was pride in every word he spoke. This made Simon genuinely curious.
"Woah..." Simon had read up on rabbit girls, and as the boy had said they were only good as pets but often used as 'emotional-support' monster girls, whatever that meant. With nothing else to go on Simon believed it when he was told that the ones in front of him were something a step above.
A derisive snort came from Amy who was currently sitting on his lap as one of her eyes was open and staring at the bunnies.
"Wait... I completely forgot! My name is Daniel but my friends call me F.D." He said giving Simon a grin.
"Oh... My name is Simon," said Simon extending back the courtesy.
"Simon! Simon... Simon... Nope does not ring a bell, and I have practically memorized the roster for this class." answered Daniel as he swiped at one of the rabbits when her face got too close to his crotch.
"Oh! yeah... I joined yesterday..." Simon said unable to keep up with the boy whose demeanor was at odds with his look.
"Really!? Damn... That's rare. People usually join at the beginning of a semester. What caused it? Wait! Don't feel like you have to tell me. People who join in off times tend to have 'circumstances'... Sorry for prying!"
The roller coaster of emotions he saw on the cranky-looking gaunt boy did Simon in. He burst out laughing, unable to contain himself. The final bit of stress and worry that clung to him washed away with that hearty breath.
Daniel tilted his head, a confused smile on his face. Amy's tail wagged as she looked up and gave him a happy yip.
It took some doing for Simon to stop himself from laughing.
"Sorry...hah. hah... It's just... hah... No... never mind." Simon tried to make coherent words but found himself unable. After he calmed down he thought better of what he wanted to say and switched to something that was more immediately important.
"Hey, Daniel. Wanna be friends?" Simon asked.
Daniel gave him a wide smile that was rather off-putting giving his sharp looks but Simon did not care.
"Sure! Let's be friends!" He answered excitedly.
Unbeknownst to both of the boys a pair of green eyes were locked on to Simon, her plush full lips in a jaw-dropping pout as she felt his awe-inspiring presence, an inferno compared to the candles that made up her classroom.
A new hope? She could not be sure...
But he was a candidate. That was without question.
Despite her best efforts her inner monster girl salivated in hunger, it wanted... No, it needed to taste the boy. Even after decades of clamping it down, it could never be truly put to rest. And for the first time, in a long time, she lost to it. She would taste the boy, and that too before the class was over, her inner monster girl made her promise.
And she answered with a yes.
Chapter 27:Teacher Flora
"So... Where is your monster girl?" asked Daniel, or F.D. for short.
In response, Amy barked at him.
His attention moved from Simon who was only grinning at his new friend.
There was never a time he felt so... light-hearted. He liked that feeling. Simon wanted to answer Daniel, he wanted to tell him everything. Only the teachings his dad, soft mom, and mom-mom engraved into him held his breath.
'When you are most happy. You are most likely to make the greatest mistakes.' Soft mom's words seemed to reverberate in his mind the moment he was about to spill his guts. Unknown to him, the bands around his arms had an imperceptible glow.
He needed to think about how to answer.
