As the fallen debris settled, the thunderous sound of moving boulders and creaking pillars finally got quiet. Slightly bruised, annoyed and my rear hurting like hell, I had managed to avoid most of the falling rubble, but my team was now a couple levels higher than I was and I wasn't sure if I could get up again.
I took a look at my surroundings as the dust settled. The mine had turned into a dungeon made from stone and copper, far older than what we had been told.
"Guys! I found the dungeon!" I yelled up while chuckling and I heard back a couple of groans joined only by Vasil's laughter.
"Are you alright, little man?" The half-orc shouted, carefully peeking down from the hole the trap had just created.
"I'm ok, Vasil!" I shouted back, "Just a little bruised!"
"Do you need healing?" I could hear another voice yell.
"I'm fine, Leeto, I still have some potions left!" I replied.
I could hear people above me arguing about something, mentioning ropes and spells, but I was too focused on the hallway around me to listen to what they were saying. The walls had been made from dark green slate stones, and decorated with copper carvings which had turned dark brown from oxidation.
"Hey, C!" the half-orc shouted, "It will take some time for us to get down there, so don't move anywhere, okay?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'll stay put!" I yelled back as I got up. Brushing the dust from my clothes and tied my hair back to a small red braid. Not seeing the trap had been somewhat embarrassing, it was my job to check for them, but Vasil had teased me while we walked through the mine and I had missed one because of it.
I looked at the dwarven decorations on the walls, thinking about how excited Leeto will be once he gets to see all of this. Our healer had always been mournful about his lost heritage and being here was a sure way to cheer him up.
Unless these things here were part of a completely different dwarven culture.
My group kept arguing far above me as I started to move, this time making sure I was careful as I walked the hallway. The ceilings here were surprisingly high and the decorations looked like they had taken years to make. I let my hand brush against the delicate designs carved into the walls. The gleaming light from above got fainter as I walked forward and I decided to light my little lamp. There was a large arched bronze door further away and I was eager to see what lay within. As I got closer to the door, I saw spider webs beginning to cover the walls.
"Uh, great... I hope these ones are not as big as the ones in the mines..." I mumbled to myself. I'd never liked spiders and their venomous fangs, but they were usually weak enough to dispatch alone.
I checked the door, making sure it wasn't trapped and began to crack it open slightly. I glanced behind me and realized my group was still probably fighting about what's the best way to get down and slipped through the little opening.
It was completely pitch-black in here and my little light did... Well, a little, to help me to see my surroundings. The room hummed with silence and I decided to do a small spell, surrounding me with light, just as I finished the spell I heard a loud thud and the door behind me closed.
"Oh, no! No!" I screamed as I felt someone jump behind me, before I had time to spin around someone hit my left shoulder blade and I fell down, with one swift move it grabbed my ankle, lifting me up in the air and I finally saw what had attacked me.
There was a large purplish creature before me, it had the lower body of a huge spider, and the top part only barely resembled a humanoid with chelicerae.

It hissed with an almost unrecognizable language, it sounded Ghoulish, but polished, which I wasn't completely sure how it even could be.
"Was that Ghoulish?" I asked, "You know, I'm pretty rusty on that myself, you don't happen to speak Common, do you?"
The large spider-like creature grunted, seeming to understand what I had just said to it. Slowly, it began to turn me around and spun its silky web over my body using its pedipalps. Fighting it seemed futile since the creature was far larger than I and if I could reach it via talking, I concluded I had a far better chance to get out of this predicament.

"I will be taking that as a no," I probed, "This seems to be your lair, I'm really not into bothering you any longer and my friends are going to be here soon, so if it's alright with you I could just, you know, go..." My voice began to waiver as the creature did not seem to care what I had in my mind. I could feel its huge fangs brush against my now webbed frame. It had left my head and toes untouched by the silky substance coming somewhere below its body.
The monster's six pitch-black eyes observed me carefully. The large chamber we were in was covered in spider silk and I saw cocoon-like shapes farther in the distance.
I truly hoped my friends had stopped arguing and were coming to get me.

The creature carried me away from the door and deeper into its lair and I saw even more cocoons, some open which had been sucked dry, a fate that seemed rather nasty.
