Hello readers.
Welcome to Part 2 of Runemaster.
First of all I'd like to thank a few people for helping get this story out to you all. JasonT, Paladianheart, Deal42, Don, and Wally1169, I couldn't do this without you all.
This part of the story has fighting, violence and death. It is not hugely graphic but some of you may not be interested in having that as part of the stories you like to read. This part of the story is purely female/male, it features deepthroating and some Dom/Sub vibes as part of the sex. If that isn't what you are looking for then the sex part of this story probably won't be for you.
Please continue to vote and comment. All the feedback I get only helps me get better and definitely makes the endeavour much more rewarding. I will do my best to get back to you!
I hope you all enjoy.

"Rafe!"
"Rafe wake up!"
"Huhhh?"
Rafe Newark groaned as he was dragged from his dreams, the voice calling him urgently into the waking world. He ignored it, rolling over and opting to cover his head with the pillow.
"Rafe you ass! Get up! You need to see this!" the voice yelled at him again and Rafe pulled the pillow tighter in response, burrowing deeper into the warm cocoon of his sheets.
A barrage of cushions followed, the soft objects bouncing off his prone body as he was pelted. One, two, three, followed by what he could only assume was a shoe. The rubbery sole smacking into his back with a dull thud.
"Rafe, c'monnn wake up," the voice tried wheedling this time, the pleading designed explicitly for him to give in and do what it wanted. He'd heard it enough times in the past twenty-four hours. Though it had been asking for something rather different at the time.
"Ugh...ok.... ok, I'm up, I'm up," the Runemaster grunted when the second shoe thudded into his back with a matching dull smack. Turning back over, Rafe rolled himself to the edge of the bed before swinging his legs out from under the black cotton sheets and putting his feet onto the cold floor.
"What is it Nat?" he groaned sleepily. Putting his head into his hands and dragging fingers through messy dark hair, Rafe tried to clear the dregs of sleep from his mind before looking over at the woman who had awoken him.
Natalya Ashworth. The 'White Witch' of Undertown. His ex-girlfriend. More than likely his now current girlfriend. His lover. His sun and his stars. His hope, his home, and his love. She was everything to him and more. She belonged to him, and he belonged to her. Forever.
He had tried to run away in the past. Had tried to deny the chemistry they had, tried to run from the bond they had, the pure animal attraction and need they had for one another. It had been too intense, too primal. He'd broken it off, abandoned Undertown and the magical society below Steelhaven for the 'normal' society above. Only recent circumstances had forced them back together.
He'd had to go on the run. Witness to a massacre and one of the few outside the all-powerful Grey family to know the truth behind it, he'd been sentenced to death by the most powerful man in the city. So of course, he'd turned to one of the few people he trusted completely and the most powerful witch he knew for help.
Natalya.
He'd gone straight to her and just as quickly he'd fallen back under her spell. It was as if he'd never been apart from her. He'd kissed the hell out of her at the first opportunity and she'd kissed him back just as fiercely. Of course, he'd then ended up destroying half her shop when a mysterious assailant that had already murdered Nat's coven decided to try the same on her while he was present. It hadn't gone well for any of them really. But you couldn't win them all.
His witch was currently over on his ragged couch glued to the TV. Dressed in one of his shirts and a pair of black panties, she looked delicious, and Rafe felt himself stir at the mere sight of her. Her long white hair was hanging loosely down her back and across her shoulders, her extraordinarily pale ivory skin glowing as it reflected the light of his TV in the dark shadows of his bunker.
Nat waved at him furiously, trying to get him to hurry as she kept her eyes and ears locked onto the TV.
"You're gonna miss it Rafe."
"Miss what Nat?" Rafe asked, trying to focus bleary eyes on the TV and figure out what was so important.
Squinting at the glowing box, Rafe realised Nat was watching the news when the local SNC anchor came into focus, and he actually began paying attention to what was playing on the TV. Tuning in properly he listened intently as the stern professional woman delivered the report that had so excited Nat.
"...multiple witnesses have claimed to have heard gunfire along with several other loud explosions late last night at the Grey Family Estate. Representatives of the family have denied these rumours claiming that the sounds were merely the result of an accident involving large quantities of fireworks.
"Intended to be part of the celebration to announce the nuptials of the infamous twin heiresses. The fireworks, according to Grey family sources, were accidentally set alight whilst in storage, the resulting explosion demolishing a portion of the estates wall as well as setting the garden alight.
"Katherine and Elizabeth, the Grey family heirs have not appeared since news broke of their matching engagements alongside the accident. No further details have been given on who they are engaged to, but we have been told they are unharmed by the incident and have retreated to another of the families' properties outside Steelhaven along with their mother."
"Holy shit," Rafe exhaled in awe.
"In other news the SPD continues to investigate the theft of a corpse from the..."
Natalya flicked the TV off now the report was over and turned on the couch to look at him.
"Holy shit is right Rafe. Someone attacked the damn Greys!"
Rafe nodded slowly; his mind was racing. This was a huge deal. Not just for the Greys. But for the whole city. For him. If someone were attacking them now so brazenly then maybe he could get lost in the shuffle.
"It has to be about the McCallister," he said thoughtfully after a moment, matching gazes with Nat, "nothing else that I have heard of could've caused a reaction such as this."
Natalya nodded.
