Ben and Emily had been together a few months now. Ben was really falling hard for her. She only fed once every couple of weeks but they would always make an evening of it. She would take him out to dinner to make sure he had a good meal to help him replenish what she was about to take from him. They would then return to his place where they had amazing sex which always ended with the bite. As strange as it sounded one of His favorite parts of feeding night was that after the sex she would always stay as long as she could laying with him to make sure he was alright. Just her being there with him was a comfort he enjoyed.
Dating a vampire was definitely different from dating a normal woman but there were many times he would almost forget her condition. As different as she was she was also a lot like your every day girl. They would see movies together, they saw the occasional play or sometimes just walked around the city. If the day was cloudy enough they would go to the Museum of Science, the aquarium or anything else they could think of that was only open during the day. Some nights they just simply cuddled on the couch and watched a movie without it even leading to sex, although they did have sex regularly and it was always amazing.
As happy as they were there were still things about her that were a mystery to him. He had never seen where she lived as they almost always hung out at his place if they weren't going out anywhere. She had no real friends at least none that he knew of, and just recently he noticed something strange. He tried to make plans to take her ice skating as they had just opened the seasonal rink in the city. At first she was all excited until she looked at the calendar and suddenly her mood changed.
"Wait, sorry I can't see you Friday."
"Really? Everything ok?"
"No its just....... just doesn't work for me, but I'll see you Saturday ok?"
"Oh, yeah Ok!"
This wasn't the first time she had done this. He hadn't noticed at first but there had been a few nights over the months where she just seemed to want to be alone. He hadn't noticed any pattern at first until this most recent time when he glanced at the calendar and noticed that the day in question was a full moon.
At first he shrugged it off thinking to himself "she's a Vampire not a werewolf, why would the moon matter?" He had tried to put it aside but the next day it stuck in the back of his mind. He took out his phone and decided to check his calendar again and he noticed the last time she couldn't see him it was also a full moon. He remembered the date because it was the opening night of a movie they wanted to see but she couldn't which he thought was a little strange at the time. Noticing this pattern he was becoming more and more curious.
The night came and went and he never heard from her. He tried to call her but she wouldn't answer the phone. The next night he met up with her and took her ice skating like he had planned. She was a lot better at it than he was and she almost looked like a professional on the ice. Given her age she's probably had a lot of practice. Ben on the other hand was trying everything not to fall flat on his face to which he almost did a few times to her amusement. As he watched her glide on the ice he couldn't help but just stare at her as she looked like an angel.
Later on after a few falls and a few laughs mostly at Bens expense they went for a walk around the city looking at the newly decorated Christmas lights. Ben couldn't get the whole full moon thing off his mind but wasn't sure how to bring it up. He also didn't want to chance ruining a perfect evening but he couldn't put it down.
"Emily?" He asked taking her hand."
"Yes Ben?"
"Um, I want to ask you about something but don't take it the wrong way?"
"Ask away!"
"Ok, why don't I know more about you?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, where do you live? Do you have any friends or family? And why do you avoid me on full moon?"
"Oh..........that!" Emily said before she stood in silence for a few moments. "I don't know if we are quite there yet!"
"Quite where?"
"Its just........ I really like you Ben, and...... there are some things about me that.......... I don't want to hurt you!"
"Hurt me?"
Ben looked her in the eyes and was a little confused. Her eyes were starting looked like she was actually afraid of telling him the truth. As confused as he was though he held her hand tighter and pulled her in holding her close for a moment just trying to comfort her.
"I'm sorry!" She said as she sobbed a little against his chest.
He held her a moment longer before he said the only thing he could and the only thing he thought mattered. "It's ok I still love you!"
"What?" She said looking up at him with a shocked look on her face.
Ben suddenly realized what he said to her almost surprised that he did. The more he thought about it though he soon realized it was true, he did love her.
"I love you Emily." He said again now starting to worry a little about how she would react. She stared at him for what seemed like forever as he waited for her response, any response. He was getting more worried as she said nothing and just had the same shocked look on her face still staring at him
"Those are dangerous words to say to a Vampire!"
"I don't care, I love you and any danger that comes with that will be worth it!"
She looked at him a little while longer with the same shocked look on her face until she finally smiled. "I hope so!" She said before she pulled him in for a kiss. He started to feel a little better as his lips connected with hers and he held her tightly in his arms in the cold night air.
He really did love her and was willing to do whatever he had to do to keep her in his life. However he couldn't help but wonder what she meant by danger, and the fact that she didn't say it back was also bothering him. they continued to walk around the city looking at the different decorations.

About a month later she asked him if he wanted to come see her place for the first time. he was really excited until he noticed that it was a full moon that night.
"Is that a problem? ha asked.
"No, it's tme I showed you something."
She gave him her address and told her to meet her there around 3:00pm. He was a little excited because he was finally going to see where she lived but he was also a little nervous about what she wanted to show him..
He arrived outside a tall building downtown. He must have double checked the address 5 times making sure he was in the right place. It was a beautiful building with stone Gryphon statues out front. He walked in the front door as a large gentleman opened it for him.
"Thank you!" He said looking up at the large man who just nodded his head as he walked past.
He walked over to the counter and asked the man behind it if this was in fact Emily place. He smiled and told him to take the elevator to the top floor. Ben thanked him and headed for the elevator which had an old man standing inside who asked him "what floor?" Ben told him the top floor and he pushed the button closing the door. A few seconds had gone by before the little old man said "You must be Ben!"
"Excuse me?"
"Its ok Lad, Emily told me to expect you!"
"Oh, and you are?"
"You can call me Charlie! I've worked here for about 40 years, known Emily just as long!"
"Oh!" He said suddenly wondering how much he knew.
"I must say I've never seen her this happy before."
"Oh, really?"
