"But I don't want to go.." Torie begged her Mother for all she was worth. Raven broke down crying softly for her child. She knelt down and hugged her four year old to her breast, it had been Luna's will for she and her Mate's to conceive children and it had been humans who had taken the lives of two of them away when the humans bombed the packs housing that had been the day care center. Too young to have gained any abilities, too young to even defend themselves.

Now the Were's and Vampire communities were known to the World and a full scale war had broken out. The Vampires and Were's fighting for their very survival against the Humans. Many of the Children are being placed with communities well hidden and away from Humans while their parents fight for their right to live.

"We don't want you to go either baby, but your Mommies and I have to fight so you can live free someday. We will come see you as soon as we can, okay?" Raven said quietly and calmed her child down. She handed Torie over to the old Alpha couple, Raven's parents. They had retired years ago, her Mother still despondent over the loss of so many children in one senseless explosion.

"We will take care of her, don't you worry, just keep the rest of them safe so we can bring the children back." Storm told his Daughter and gave her a firm hug. Many couples stood and watched mournfully as their children were driven away. No one knew where, only the old Alpha couple knew the location.

"Now what?" Josh asked, Raven's brother and first Beta.

"Now we use guerilla tactics and we do not stay in one spot just waiting for the next attack. We stay mobile and on the move, striking when they least expect it." Raven stated, her eyes flashing in anger and pain at having to send her child away.

"I plan to see her next birthday, so we will have this War finished by then." she said growling angrily. The others growled in agreement. Twenty minutes later and they were packed with only with what could fit into a backpack and weapons that could be carried easily.

Two weeks later -

"Hello?" a voice asked on the burner phone. Raven recognized the voice instantly.

"Hi, Candice, this is Raven, just calling to make sure everything is okay." Raven said on the prepaid phone that would be tossed later.

"Fine here, so when are your parents and the kids coming we have everything set up." Candice asked causing Raven to freeze up for a moment.

"They left two weeks ago by bus." Raven whispered and heard Candice gasp softly.

"There was a story over a week ago about a militant group being destroyed on the Highway by a Military check point. They showed a picture of an old grey hound bus, burning on the highway." Candice explained slowly and Raven could hear the dread in her voice.

"Could you tell what color?" Raven asked slowly.

"White with Blue pin striping. I didn't think about you guys because the plates were from Oregon." Candice said and Raven dropped the phone. Jas had heard much of it and picked up the phone.

"Sorry Candice, and yes that was our bus. Stay hidden, stay safe." Jas said quickly and smashed the phone. Raven wailed as her parents and child were confirmed dead, she had thought something had felt off in the bond, but over such a long distance even mates would have trouble feeling each other. The news set off a new round of tactics that made the news around the world as military bases were destroyed.

"My name is Raven Greywolf, Alpha to the Greywolf pack. The Were's and Vampires have lived among the humans for as long as there have been humans on the planet and yet we have grown and evolved just as you humans have. We do not force anyone to change to become one of us, the fact is a human can not be changed into a Were by bite or scratch unless it is by their own mate, and even so only if they agree to being changed. We have strict rules about trying to change anyone by force, and the penalty of doing it is death." Raven explained to a camera that was focused on her. Looking around she saw the station personal continue to work the equipment while her pack watched over them.

"We never wanted a war, but the moment you found out about us you do what you always do. Destroy what you fear, destroy what you do not understand and kill out of petty jealousy and make up things to justify your actions. After the War started you bombed our community and in that raid, you bombed our day care center. Twenty seven children died along with six adults and several teens. That Bomb took two of my three own children. In order to keep them safe we shipped off our remaining children to safety, only to find out that at a road block set up by the Military you went and destroyed a bus load of children and my last remaining child, along with several retired elderly couples, most of whom were barely even able to shift much less fight and yet you felt good in eradicating the threat of Were's and Vampires. Helpless children and elderly, I wonder how would you feel if it had been your children, your elderly that had been on that bus." Raven stated as the tears flowed freely.

"Remember one thing people, We did not start this War, we did not target your children or your elderly. You dare to call us savages or animals, who is the true animal here?" Raven asked and stood up.

"What will you do?" the woman sitting behind the desk asked. Raven stopped and looked back at her.

"Give you the War you wanted, I hope it is everything you dreamed of." Raven stated then turned and walked out with her pack even as the Police and Military arrived several minutes after they left. The News anchors tried to question the Military about the bus only for the question to be ignored.

"Did she say anything else?" the Captain was demanding.

"No, but I will tell you one thing." the reported stated.

"What's that?" the Captain asked.

"If you idiots did kill her child on that bus, heaven help us all, because if it was me, I'd let the World burn before I ever let you off the hook." she said angrily and turned her back on him.

The Motorcycle rumbled with the classic Harley Davidson sounds as she rode down the Highway, it was one of the few times she felt really free at all. In the rear view mirrors she could see the others riding with her. A group of women enjoying the open road, and heading up to the lake to camp and enjoy the weekend. Now that the War was over, after six long years, people were free to move about where they liked once again.

The war had become unattainable for the Humans as the costs were so excessive that it had nearly bankrupted entire Governments in some countries and the costs in lives was staggering on both sides. The final Death was the one who had been on TV at a news station outside of Washington State. Raven had helped to broker the peace and after admitting that her mates and children were dead, she followed them to death. No one could explain how she died, she just fell over and was gone. Her people took her body and sent her to Luna.

Pulling up to their favorite Campsite, they found the space that was held for them then set up camp. Jasmine always hated setting up the tent, the stupid things never wanted to work properly for her, but it was the same for computers too. Her friends helped her set up the tent while she walked down to the river and caught several fish. A couple times she could have sworn she had caught enough only to find her count low by one. Finally she had the fish she needed and walked back to the camp site.

Out of them all, Jasmine was the best at hunting and fishing along with cooking. But put together a tent and she was at a loss. She smiled at seeing it set up and showed off her catch for the nights dinner.

"So Jas, you going to go out with Daniel or what?" Beth asked with a grin. Jasmine had been averting the mans growing interest in her and had shown a complete lack of interest in him which he was not getting at all.

"I swear Beth, can't you ever sing a different tune?" she asked in reply.

"I have given him answers of No so many times it's the first thing that comes out of my mouth when he goes to say something to me. I don't flirt with him, I don't stare like the others do, I don't say or do anything that would give him hope of anything ever happening between him and I." Jasmine said while tending the fish over the fire. Then continued by saying,

"Beth I know he's your cousin, you tell him I am not interested as he doesn't seem to hear it when I say it." she said flatly.

"But.. wait.. are you saying you have never gone to dinner with him or to a movie or anything, even physical?" Beth was asking in apparent confusion.

"I think I bumped into him during the last big storm when a bunch of us got caught in the elevator and the power went out. But with an elevator full of people, who can tell who is bumping into who?" Jasmine replied and stirred the vegetables carefully.

"That's not what he said, the way he tells it you and he were alone and making out like teens until the power came on and the elevator started moving." Beth muttered and Jasmine just sighed and shook her head.

"I wish I had known that Jasmine, if I had then I wouldn't have suggested he come up here tomorrow to join us." Beth added quietly. Jasmine glanced at Beth, the look showing her anger.

"Your Cousin needs help Beth, he is so focused on me and what I am doing and with who that he has gotten several reprimands in his file for not completing jobs on time and his designs have been flawed so badly that no one could fix the problems, so the jobs had to be torn down and restarted with a different designer." Jasmine explained to Beth who could only nod slowly.

Jasmine swung her head around at the sound of a soft rumble. Everyone spun at the same time and watched as a slender looking black panther stepped soundlessly into the area. The young cat was sniffing the air and kept looking to the fish and back at the women who were now looking at her, most of them in fear, except for the dark haired one, she kept looking back behind her as if expecting someone.

"A Panther?" Cathy asked in a whisper.

"A Werecat, you boob, come on how many Panthers are indigenous to North America?" Jasmine asked in reply.

"I.. I don't know.." Cathy admitted softly.

"They come from South America mainly, but many species live through out the World. The only Panthers you find now in the US are Werecats. By the look of this one it's a young child still which means her parents should be coming along any minute, so do not attack or we are all dead." Jasmine warned. Everyone nodded then watched as the small panther moved to the fire and reached for a fish. The small panther jumped several times as the flames kept it from their prize.

"Let me help you with that." Jasmine said and the Panther backed up as she used a spatula to scoop up a fish and set it on a paper plate then set it on the ground. The panther got excited and moved to the fish.

"Wait a moment, hun, it's going to be hot." Jasmine said quietly and the panther paused to tilt her head at the woman.

"You need to do this.." Jasmine said and started to blow on the fish to cool it down. Before their eyes they watched as the Panther shifted to a young girl somewhere between ten and twelve years old. She was naked and dirty, her ribs showing as well.

"Well aren't you a beauty." Jasmine said and watched the girl blow on the fish. Long black hair with a light brown hint to her skin like a natural sun tanning, she needed to put on more weight, as she was now, she was like a skeleton with skin. The most showing was her eyes, soft purple in coloring and they glowed softly even in her human form. Jasmin had become fascinated with the Were's and the purple coloring in the girls eyes hinted that she was much more then a simple Werecat, she is an Alpha from a very old line.

With the girl slowly eating the fish and apparently comfortable sitting on the ground, the rest all took a seat as well and began to eat. She never said a word, she just watched them while she ate down the fish. Jasmine finished up her dinner and carefully took the plate from the girl then threw them into the trash.

"Can you tell me your name?" Jasmine asked and the girl seem to be thinking for a few moments.

"Torie.. Torie Greywolf." she answered in a broken English as if she had not spoken in so long she had nearly forgot how to speak at all.

"Your Parents?" Jasmine asked softly. She already knew who one of them had been, Raven. Raven Greywolf had been the Alpha who appeared on TV at the start of the War and after declaring that her child was dead by the military targeting them, well it had turned many prominent politician's to secretly support the Were and Vampire's in their desire to exist side by side with the humans.

In the entire War, they never once killed a child, even by accident, they never killed anyone who was elderly or killed in front of a child either. Many times it was the Were's and Vampire's who rescued civilians from the humans own military who didn't seem to care who was in the cross fire so long as a Were or Vampire died in the process. The Military would show clips of Vampire and Were's taking people, it was later found out they were not taken but simply rescued.

"Gone.. gone long time now.." Torie answered and sighed a bit. Jasmine watched as the girl shifted into a Panther once again and curled up on her legs.

"Think you made a friend." Cathy said softly and smiled warmly at Jasmine. Jasmine slowly caressed the Panthers long body and they could hear the contented purring of the shifter as she fell a sleep.

"What do we do?" Cathy asked.

"She is the lost daughter to the one who was called Raven Greywolf, she has the same eyes and hair too. We should find out if there are any surviving family members for her." Jasmine said while gently lifting the shifter up.

"It's getting late, probably a good idea to..." Jasmine added and stopped as the Panthers head shot up and her ears rotated followed by her gaze moving back behind the group. Jasmine was forced to set down the excited panther and she slipped into the brush soundlessly while a louder sound came from the direction the girl had noted before slipping away.

Whatever had spooked their small friend was crashing through the brush like some rhino. Soon a familiar and for Jasmine an entirely unwanted face appeared, Daniel. He was wearing his usual smirk while stepping into the small campsite.

"What are you doing here?" Beth asked as she glanced between him and Jasmine who was just frowning at Beth.

"I figured I'd show up a day early and give us more time together over the weekend." he replied while staring at Jasmine.

"How are you doing that, you didn't bring any camp gear, not even a sleeping bag." Beth said and now looked at Jasmine with an apologetic look in her eyes.

"Oh I am sure Jasmine wouldn't mind sharing her tent with me." Daniel replied smoothly. Jasmine's anger hit the final straw.

"That is it, how many fucking No's does any man need before he gets the hint, No is fucking NO!" Jasmine screamed at him. "I heard what you imagined happened in the elevator, but it was only in your fucking dreams and imagination, I was never alone with you in the elevators, every time there was the possibility I took the freaking stairs or pretended to get some water from the fountain. I was never alone with you, not ever."

"But all those knowing looks, all the flirtation banter.." Daniel started to say.

"Was nothing but wishful thinking and I never gave you more then a passing glance, I never gave you a flirtation, my talks with you never went past NO. Now leave me alone or I will get a restraining order set against you, this whole stalker thing is getting out of hand now." Jasmine replied angrily.

"I don't know what I said or did to make you so angry, but I am sure we can fix it and get back together." he said smiling at her.

"We were never together you sick fuck, what is wrong with you. We never dated, never ate dinner together alone or even as a double date, an office party and never at the same table. I would and will never date you. Now leave before I call the cops, we rented this space and while rented, it is considered private property and you are trespassing." Jasmine said and pulled out her phone.

"No, I am tired of you playing hard to get, you will love me." he yelled back and moved towards her. A very loud roar had the earth tremble under their feet. Everyone stood very still as glowing purple eyes moved from the darkness towards them.

"It's a Were, look at the eyes, they're feral." Daniel said quickly and before anyone could say anything, they watched in horror as he reached back and pulled out a hand gun then fired at the Panther.
