Dear readers it was brought to my attention that I have become what I swore I would not.....an absent author with an unfinished story.
I didn't realize that the last chapter was posted in December of 2014. UGH! This chapter has been sitting unfinished for quite a while and I'm embarrassed by that.
I love writing and sharing my stories with you, but the editing sucks, and I suck at editing most of the time.
But as I submit this chapter I hope you will forgive anything I might have missed and forgive me as well for the delay. Please enjoy the Ebony Alpha Chapter 27.

Jacques hung up his phone with a heavy sigh. He had just heard from Broussard and knew he had to inform Andrew of his report.
His sire Ursula was apparently on her way to the Chambers compound.
Since Andrew had given his blood to change Carlotta into a Vampire he knew there would be trouble. The usual procedure for any transformation was to get permission from the Vampire Council or at the least, your Sire. Andrew had done none of that.
To anyone else the circumstances of Carlotta's entrance into immortality would be understandable, but this was Ursula they were talking about. She didn't have an understanding bone in her body.
She knew that Andrew was not her mate, and since he refused to mate with her she had made his life a living hell.
Ursula was such a thorn in his side. Jacques didn't want her causing trouble on the Chambers compound. She was a very powerful and ancient vampire. He would discuss things with Andrew and Silas before they made a final decision. But enough of this he had other things to worry about.
He had informed all of the Alphas of Fabio Marconi's demise, and asked them to relay the information to their packs. The Were Council would make a full report after their meeting next month.
Things had been quite peaceful over the weekend and they expected Jackson and Megan to arrive soon. The others were driving back but Napoleon had insisted on flying those two in his new toy a shiny black helicopter.
It was great they lived long lives. It gave them time to learn new things. Napoleon had decided to learn to fly and added the helicopter to his collection of mechanical items.
Joslyn was not thrilled. Jacques couldn't help but laugh. The little woman was tired of all the things her mate had collected over the years. There would be more. No doubt about it.
The large man gently left the bed as to not wake his mate. He needed to run. The drama that had unfolded over the past week had been too much for him.
Maybe he was getting too old for this shit. Would someone else be willing to take over the director's spot from him? Broussard would have been a good choice but he was too prejudiced.
Andrew would be a better fit but he may not want to be tied down; after all he just got his family back. He would keep thinking as he ran.
A good run was the best thing to help him clear his mind, and right now he needed to do just that. Jacques stood at the terrace door and jumped over the railing; landing in the dew covered grass as his large red wolf.
The sunrise was calling and he wanted to chase a few rabbits as he forgot about his troubles.

Jacques ended his run right in time to join the pack for breakfast. His quick snack of young possum did nothing to quell his hunger and he was ready to eat his fill.
Desiree didn't question her mate. She knew him well enough to sense when he was contemplating a problem and she left him in peace. She longed to see her new grandchildren and went to visit her daughter.
A loud noise filled the sky and hovered over the open field at the edge of the clearing. It was Napoleon and his companions arriving form Baton Rouge.
The large black helicopter landed blowing dust everywhere and the pack waited far away until the blades stopped turning.
Megan and Joslyn were the first to disembark from the Helicopter. They were soon followed by Alicia and the two Alphas.
Silas Chambers rushed to meet them and greeted them warmly.
"Welcome to the Chambers pack lands my friends. It is wonderful to see you again. Where are my other pack members Alicia?" Silas questioned the anxious young woman.
"They will arrive in a few hours my Alpha. They decided to come home by Limo."
Stephen rushed to greet his mate and everyone laughed at the sight of the newly mated pair as they rushed away to make up for lost time.
"I couldn't believe that Stephen didn't stop to say hello to us Megan." Jackson joked. He should know as well as anyone what new mates had on their minds.
"I am sure we will see him in a few days Jackson. But there is always Sullivan and Maddie." As if reading her thoughts their two friends burst into their midst and grabbed them in hugs.
"I've missed you so Megan, I can't wait to tell you everything that has been going on around here."
"Excuse me!" Silas barked at the growing throng around the new arrivals.
"Let me get our guests settled and then we can all catch up. I'm sure they would like to freshen up and eat before we have our reunions."
The pack retreated and let their Alpha lead his guest to the main house where they would be staying.
The pack was in awe to see the Ebony Alpha and the Chosen One in person. They were a good match and they could feel the love vibrating around them. It was like a great heat wave encompassing them all.
She was even more beautiful than they had seen on the monitors during the Blood Moon Ceremony. Her hair was like a living thing and it bounced with copper magic.
And the dark Alpha with hypnotic hazel eyes was large enough to win any challenge that came his way. Yes they looked beautiful and their reputations portrayed them to be just as wonderful inside as well.
Silas felt the same awe that his pack did, but he knew this Alpha and his mate were not ordinary Weres. Luna had blessed them to bring prosperity to all the Were Nation.
They would only see their special powers if the need arose. After all that had happened over the past few days, he hoped that nothing else would happen anytime soon.

Jacques smiled too himself as he waited for Jackson, Silas and Joe to meet him in the Alpha's study. He had talked it over with Desiree and he felt so much freedom it was hard to contain his excitement.
"What's this all about Jacques?" Silas implored as he and the other Alphas entered the room.
"Take a seat gentlemen and I will tell you the news." He was still smiling and it was almost painful to see.
"I have decided to turn over the running of the agency to my number two in charge. He has been doing a great job in my absence and I want to do other things."
The silence that greeted his announcement was nothing compared to his mate's reaction. He imagined she was still just sitting there where he left her, with a look of total shock on her face.
"Congratulations Jacques. I hope Zack knows what lies ahead for him. But wait a minute isn't he human? How can he take over for you?"
"Well actually he is half human. Remember his mother is human but his father was a vampire."
"But doesn't that make him weak in the eyes of the purist?' Jackson asked as the others nodded their heads.
"Surely the Ancient Ones would tear him apart at the first opportunity." Silas offered and Jacques smiled once again.
"Have you seen the man Silas? He is 6'4 and 250 pounds of pure muscle. His vampire has taken charge of his life and it has been years since he has let his humanity see the light of day."
"I have to agree if I went by looks alone I wouldn't doubt him, but no matter how deep he buries his alter ego, it is still there." Jackson clasped his hands under his chin as he let his statement sink in.
"I have made up my mind about this and I hope I can count on our whole community to support him." Jacques' left no more room for questions about his replacement.
"Where is he now Jacques?" Jos asked as the men rose to leave the room.
"I sent him on his first assignment. He is picking up Ursula Fennel at the airport."
The look on his friend's faces said it all "OH SHIT!"

Charles looked over the morning paper he was reading and smiled at the two women sitting around the table. Breakfast had been simple scrambled eggs, large juicy steaks and pancakes and they all were full.
They were still at the Dallas Hilton waiting until Jackson and Megan left for the Chambers compound. He was proud of Persia for figuring out things on her own.
He knew Ralph would think that he told her the truth, but by the time he met them at the airport they had made reservations to stay.
Charles couldn't wait to see the look on Ralph's face when they arrived back at the pack lands. Aphasia was in such a good mood it would only make her happier.
Persia was another story she was pensive and thoughtful. Her love for Ralph outweighed her anger, but she was determined to give him a piece of her mind.
She would make a wonderful Alpha. He didn't need to worry about his pack when he decided to relinquish his leadership. Persia was a true leader and he was going to make sure that she was trained in every aspect of the job.
"Father I know you are worried about me, but really I'm fine. I have learned a lot over the last few days. Most of all I've learned I have a lot more to learn." His beautiful daughter smiled at him and he relaxed visibly.
"You now my dear, you are only eleven years old. But as a Were we are much older than any number. I only wanted to keep you my baby forever, but I know that is impossible." Charles sighed and smiled as Persia jumped into his lap.
"Father I will always be your baby girl, even when I am old and gray." She kissed Charles on his cheek and snuggled into his chest.
His smile was wide and Aphasia joined him in his joy. Life was great and they hoped they could keep it that way if only for a little while.
"When do we leave Charles? We need to pack and check out of the hotel." Aphasia asked.
