Having been hunted for centuries, the current vampire population has diminished so much that most people have forgotten their existence.

The basement was remolded with lifts for their caskets that lowered them during the day underground, the floor panels covering them so they could not be located. A switch in each casket lowered them underground and at night brought them back up so they spent the evenings in the darkness avoiding the sunlight. The basement held 100 available caskets, and they also had added this system to the other mansions they had bought. Each place had a caretaker and a spouse to maintain the house during the day
"It is nice living in the northwest, except for summer, seasonally it gets darker at night providing us with more time to be outdoors. More of our kind have heard of our development and have moved into the area." Mark continued, walking back inside to refill his cup. The kitchen refrigerator was stocked with blood they purchased from a blood bank though they preferred the warm blood of humans who were happy to share thanks to their ability to influence their minds.
"We should head over to the school gym, tonight we are going to transform two volunteers to begin the process of increasing our kind." Terry said, heading to his bedroom upstairs to change into his black clothing.
They went out to their limo had had their driver take them over where other vampires were waiting to witness the transformation.
Tina attended their raves and questioned them as to how they became vampires. They had shared the process with her as she expressed interest in being transformed. Ted, a young computer nerd had also expressed the same. In honestly, they had a large number of people who wanted to transform, so they decided each week they would turn two, a gal and a guy.
Not everyone had the ability to transform a human into a vampire, both Terry and Mark did, so they would be the ones who would do it each week, especially since they owned all the homes and school. The others would help in educating the newbies.
