It was the day that every little girl dreamed of, today was Lara's wedding day. In St. Mary's church a room off to the side of the chapel had been converted into a waiting area for the bride and her bridesmaids. There was a lavish vanity table that had been scattered with various paraphernalia used to make a bride and her friends look more beautiful. Lara, however, did not use any make up to feel beautiful and decided that she would not use it. She sat and toyed with various pieces of the cosmetics. All of her bridesmaids had left to go mill about and keep the guests occupied. Lara was nervous and preferred to be alone when her nerves were acting up. The ceremony was not due to start for another 20 minutes, and she needed time to think.
She was completely dressed. The white dress she wore was simple and sleek, calling back to past days. The top was a beautifully tailored corset that seemed to enhance her figure and make her look like a mold of what could be the perfect woman. Her milky white breasts were pushed up, a decent amount of cleavage showing, but still remaining modest for a proper bride. At her hips, the dress flared out and pooled in a long train behind her. In her russet hair was clasped a thin veil, her hair falling in soft natural curls to her shoulders.
She sat there alone, contemplating what was going to happen when the door opened. Without looking back Lara said, "I just need to be alone a little longer, Jen, don't worry." She automatically assumed it was her maid of honor come to check on her. When a voice finally answered, she was shocked to hear it had the pitch of a deep baritone rather than her girl friend's high-pitched soprano. "Its not Jen, Lara." Was all the man said. With that, the soft click of the door being locked was all she could hear, followed by footsteps. She took a deep breath and turned around, "Look, Rick, I already told you... I'm getting married today."
