Maggy was just wandering up and down the street looking for her car. After a long day at work then hitting the club with the girls she was exhausted and wanted to get home. She looks towards the subway station. She sees a large man just loitering, looking around and being just all around creepy. Looking up and down the roads its dark and eerie; tonight the fog is low and giving an ominous feel to the night. As she inhales the air was thick and smells of garbage and sex. The stale smell of cigarettes and booze loomed heavily in this section of the road.
As she wanders the street heading to the subway; she looks left then right, she is so very confused as to where her damn car is. Thinking to herself she mutters quietly, "Those girls could have just come home with me". She paces the road with her cell phone in hand just itching to text Tiffany and demand she come help her find the car. She can feel her face getting hotter with rage. She tries to compose herself as to not draw attention to her circumstance.
The lingering in this area it makes her feel a bit ill. After the rotten evening working at the corner store, she isn't looking forward to trudging her way home. She begins thinking about her long walk home stopping in place she spaces out as the thoughts dance in her mind. When she snaps out of it she continues looking up and down the roads. It sure is dark and eerie she thinks to herself as she shutters. Putting her phone in her left back pocket she heads to the subway entryway that is just past the strange creepy man.
She notices the stranger looking over in her direction, this causes her to freeze dead in her tracks. Pulling out her phone, she looks down at its screen, damn it she thinks to herself no signal. She looks behind her and then turns around trying to decide whether to continue past this guy or turn around. She tries to remember the train schedule and looks at the clock on her phone screen. Bobbing her head left and right quickly mulling over and calculating the time and wait for the next train, she decides to just go for it.
The Crap day she had must be making her over react she thinks to herself. She shrugs it off figuring that she was just being silly and profiling what could be a friendly guy who she caught the attention of with her clippy cloppy heals. She decides to just saunter past, and as she does she glances over with a tiny smile and nod "quiet night huh?" she speaks in passing and continues on without waiting for a response.
The Stranger leaning against the lamp post. His only response is to turn with a stare that, when caught by the lamp's light, might show some kind of leering menace. So, it continues to be the quiet night she had described, with only the background sounds of horns and sirens to fill in the gaps between her foot-steps...and then his. From somewhere behind her, after she has rounded the corner, heavy boots' soles may a thud in growing volume.
Maggy turns the corner and waits in the hallway just past the entrance. She wanted to stay near the street in hopes of getting cell service. Not making it to the platform to wait for her train. She figured it could make it there once she heard the train arrive. Still thinking about how ridiculous she felt panicking about the stranger on the corner. He seemed quite harmless, not the menacing thug she had thought.
She looks to her phone hoping for a signal only to find that there is still none. She decides to just look through the pictures in her camera to amuse herself for the next half hour till the train arrives. Her thoughts wander back to that man once again she shakes her head and sighs in relief. The station is empty and quiet tonight. An over head light flickers because the bulb is dying. The buzzing from the florescent lights the only sound that could be heard.
Unknown to Maggy the Stranger taking his good, sweet time as he heads towards the subway. With an extra glance over a shoulder, and several seconds of peering down the side streets of the intersection, are enough for him to ensure that the area was vacant, other than himself and the woman who entered before him. He lopes along, with obviously no attempt made at stealth. In the relative silence, His footfalls might almost sound like distant thunder. He turns to the subway entrance, where he and Maggy are liable to make an abrupt meeting. His dark eyes flicker with rapaciousness, and his heavily whiskered dimples are tugged up into a vicious grin. As he enters the subway, Maggy is still very zoned out looking at her phone doesn't notice him.
She stands there leaning, her back against the wall with her left leg bent and her foot placed on the wall, still flicking through her phone. She is just waiting there innocently without a care in the world. She is startled out of her veil of contentment suddenly as she hears foot steps approaching. They sound heavy yet lazy as they drag on the sandy dirt covered pavement. She perks up more alert now then she was. She doesn't take her glance away from her phone; however she does shift her eyes to peer to the left over her shoulder.
Her heart skips and begins racing as the man walks into the stations tunnel. She isn't sure but has a sinking suspicion this is the man that she was just worrying about outside by the light. She takes her foot off the wall now standing she takes a few breaths and talks herself down, murmuring "No biggy Mags he probably just needs the train too". She finally mellows out and looks up at him and smiles nervously. "hi again" she says in a whisper. hopeful he just ignores her like last time and continues on his way.
The man stands back and takes her all in, from head to toe, and back, again. His intent gaze might seem to appraise every single inch of her, but least of all her face. He appears to be looking upon her with the hungry expression of a man who chooses a cut of beef at the market. His focus never quite makes it to her eyes, again, so that he ends up talking to her tits, when he finally get around to rhetorically asking, "You ain't her, huh?' He grumbles this half under his breath, and almost incoherently, before he adds, "Eh...fuck it. You'll do."
Maggy now looking back to her phone looks back to her phone closes her eyes hoping to hear his foot steps fade as they pass her. She stands there for what seems like an eternity before finally opening them up again just as she hears his peculiar comment about not being someone else. She tilts her head, her heart begins to race again. "excuse me?' she says in a near whisper. "are you talking to me?" She feels her legs trembling beneath her.
