RESCUING SWEET OLIVIA 05
--
Everything in the world annoyed Sophia after the last interview session. Unable to set her mind in peace, she got to her room and slammed the door behind her. She was furious!!! She couldn't believe nor accept what she witnessed from Andrea. What had happened to her friend? She was not the same!!!
A deep sensation of defeat invaded her, making her feel powerless and useless. Once again she cried over her pillow, not knowing what to do next. Who should she trust and who should she protect from? She felt that even her audience wasn't helping. Closing her eyes after delving into her mind for hours she got asleep from exhaustion. With no windows and no sunlight in her room, it was hard for her to tell whether it was day or night.
Nobody bothered her. They let her deal with her frustration and anger until the next day. She might sleep, cry or kick the walls, it didn't matter to them.
Sophia's mind wasn't quite clear yet when she awoke in the morning. Her anger was still there, only that this time it felt like a dull feeling from the past yet to work on. Her dreams helped her a bit, and as she got up, she started to think about Paula.
Maybe they could have broken Andrea, but Paula was a prepared FBI agent. She had been trained in mental warfare and psychological brainwashing. Besides, she had been the one that installed the idea of a drug induced conditioning.
The question she was asking herself deep in her mind was : Should she trust Paula? Is there any possibility that she was out of that conditioning? Or should she better quit all this and run for her life?? It wasn't an easy question for her. In her deepest fears she wanted to run away from there as fast as she could. On the other hand, doing that would betray all her followers and real life friends' trust, probably leading to a painful and unavoidable stampede.
But there was something that troubled Sophia's mind worse. Why did she got so wet and aroused whenever she heard, saw, or even thought about being kidnapped and sexually forced?
Sophia finally decided to swallow her pride and give Alpha another chance. This time she was going to be the one setting the rules. Alpha had a lot to lose too!!
When he accepted Sophia's conditions, she was very clear she wanted to speak to Paula alone. She wasn't going to endure the same situation again. The images and the sounds of Andrea willingly surrendering to those rude men, still echoed in her mind. She had a hard time getting to sleep last night and won't stand another round of it.
When Sophia entered the room for the third interview, Alpha and Paula were already there. It was shocking for both women to meet after what led to Paula's disappearance.
A silent exchange of glances preceded a repressed smile on Paula's face. Sophia, on the other hand, couldn't repress her impulse to hug Paula and so she did. She did her best to hold her deep moving emotions when she hugged Paula, pressing herself against her chest. Once again she stepped back and observed Paula from one foot apart. She didn't seem to be pregnant as Andrea was.
"PAULA!!! I'm so happy to see you again!!!!" Sophia exclaimed. "Are you OK? How are you feeling??" Sophia couldn't repress.
Sitting in the other chair, Alpha seemed to be invisible to Sophia's eyes. He cleared his throat trying to get Sophia's attention. Both Sophia and Paula noticed that.
"Sorry Alpha!!" Sophia replied. "It's really moving for me... "
"I've thought I'd never meet Paula again in my life... It's really exciting for me..." she excused herself again. "Thanks for letting me meet her!!"
"I understand it." Alpha replied. "But please don't forget your audience!!"
Alpha's words sliced through her consciousness like a bolt of lightning. "He was damn right!" she realized, a surge of adrenaline coursing through her veins.
Upon stepping into the room, Sophia was greeted by an unexpected sight: her setup meticulously arranged, and the live interview already underway. With a mix of disbelief and gratitude, she took the stage, introducing Paula to the eager audience.
Striving to regain her composure and exude professionalism, Sophia fought to reign in her emotions, though they threatened to spill over. Yet, despite her many efforts, the intensity of her feelings was palpable to all, evident in every inflection of her voice and every nuance of her expression.
Sophia delved into her interview with Paula, starting off with light, introductory questions about her herenows. Yet, as the conversation progressed, Sophia skillfully navigated toward more challenging inquiries, delicately broaching the subject of Paula's ability to openly discuss recent events.
A subtle exchange of glances between Paula and Alpha caught Sophia's attention, igniting a flicker of suspicion within her. Was there something they weren't revealing? The air thickened with unspoken tension, leaving Sophia to wonder what secrets lay beneath the surface of their exchange. Was Paula able to speak all her truth?
As conversation got deeper and complicated she deliberately asked Paula about her broadcasted rape session, her fight, her final surrender and everything about that moment that puzzled Sophia so much.
Paula's face went white when she heard those words from Sophia's mouth, she was insistently searching for an approval sight from Alpha who was sitting a few feet from her. Her hands trembled and she could only stutter a few words. Paula tried to dismiss the subject by just replying that she was alright and that she enjoyed that night very much. Even when Paula was watching directly to the camera when she told it, Sophia didn't buy it.
"So Paula, you're telling me you're here at your own will, and that you enjoy your lifestyle here... Am I getting it right?" Sophia asked looking directly at her eyes
"I have all that I need here. They take care of me and give me some intense moments of pressure. What else should I ask for?" Paula replied although she couldn't hold eye contact with Sophia.
"Aren't you pregnant? Aren't you chemically conditioned?" Sophia asked.
"No. I'm not pregnant yet. Perhaps there is a remaining of my previous contraception protection methods still in my body." Paula said with her face unable to conceal her increasing fear.
"I think Paula replied to all your questions sincerely." Alpha stopped her. "if we're not forcing her, don't be the one forcing her to say what she doesn't want to!!"
Sophia couldn't believe what was happening, but had no other choice but to stop her interview. Her face reflected she was not yet convinced, neither defeated in this war.
"Is it that hard to admit some of your best friends enjoy this life we propose to them? " Alpha complained "Perhaps you want to experience it first hand and evaluate..." he laughed.
"Don't get it wrong Alpha!! I'm interviewing them and trying to understand what's going on here!!" She replied with anger. "You'll never get me that way!!"
With that last statement Sophia ended her transmission and got back to her room. She had a lot of work to do if she wanted to get to the truth.
While walking through the corridors to her place, she spotted a concealed door on one of them. it seemed not to be properly closed, and that way, she catched the glimpse of a light from the other side.
Once in her bedroom she faced a huge dilemma. Should she get through her recently discovered door, and risk herself to be caught in a flagrant betrayal to Alpha's organization, or should she wait for Alpha to incriminate himself? It seemed the later option was far and somehow impossible to get. But breaching the complex known limits may be posing a high risk for her, as she remembered Alpha's words with his commitment to protect her as long as she wouldn't represent a risk for the organization.
Recalling Paula's face and behavior during the interview Sophia assumed she might have an ally in her. Getting back home by her own means carrying all she had inferred until now may have been deemed a victory. On the other hand, staying there and insisting on Alpha's interviews seemed a slow and exhausting choice.
