A Womans Place Ch 02

Ellie sat in her prison and waited. Her captor and (ex) best friend had plotted to kidnap her and keep her here in his newly converted loft for God knows how long. Worst of all, he'd discussed it with her Dad who seemed to have agreed to it wholeheartedly. Women all over the country appeared to be going through the same thing as Ellie. The Prime Minister gathered his papers and with a nod he turned back to his aids and returned inside. "The Prime Minister there, speaking live. "I had no choice Ellie -- none of us did. They weren't letting anyone out of the country unless they had a really good reason. That's why there have been airline strikes for the past month and the ports have been closed due to that non-existent agricultural disease - it was all a huge cover-up." Ben pleaded. He desperately wanted to make her see. "I should have done this differently -- I know that now. You should never have had to see that idiot in the field or those women being chased through the streets. I knew I'd have to keep you locked up for a couple of months so I wanted you to have a final night of freedom outside. It was stupid.
