A year ago my life changed in ways I couldn't have possibly predicted. My life had been relatively normal for a forty-four-year-old man. I was a statistics professor at the local university. I'd married my high school sweetheart at twenty and divorced the week of my fortieth birthday. I have two adult daughters. I started dating a sweet woman named Stacy a few months after the divorce. Through it all, I'd had my best friend, Noah, a fellow professor at the university researching psychology. I'll start the recount of the last year when I got what was the most devastating news of my life.

The phone rang early on a Saturday morning. Answering, I heard sobbing on the line and a familiar voice. It was Noah's younger sister Tiffany. In between tears, I heard, "Noah passed away last night, I'll be in touch with service details."
I felt like I'd been punched in the gut and muttered, "Thanks for letting me know." She hung up and I sat stunned for a while. I knew Noah had been sick on and off for the last couple of years, but he seemed to always bounce back. He was incredibly fit and active, much more so than I've been lately. I eventually learned that Noah had been battling cancer, but kept it under wraps to myself and the rest of the staff at the university. How could I not have realized?

The funeral was well attended. Noah was very respected at the university and had ties to the military and many other groups through research contracts. I only knew about half the people here, which made speaking a little easier. As I got up, I was initially a little distracted by all the attractive women in attendance. Noah had become very popular with the ladies as we got older, so I guess I shouldn't be so surprised there were so many attractive mourners here. The rest of the funeral was a blur of tears and sharing happy memories.

I took the next day off of work to stay home and get my bearings. I was awoken by a knock at the door for a delivery. I wasn't expecting any packages and this one required a signature. It was definitely addressed to me, but I didn't recognize the company listed in the return address. I signed and took the package to the dining room table. I cautiously opened the package up to find a smaller box on the inside. Less cautiously, I opened the second box to find a sealed envelope with my name on it. I immediately recognized the handwriting as Noah's.
"If you're reading this, then I've checked out. Hope the funeral wasn't too awkward. Make sure you're reading this alone, this letter and the package's contents are for you and you alone. We've both had our ups and downs throughout our lives, but I've always deeply appreciated your friendship through it all. While I was dealt a bad hand with the cancer, I was able to more than make the most of my final few years. I debated either destroying or gifting the contents you're about to receive, but ultimately decided I could trust you with it. You deserve what it can bring and I trust you won't be too reckless with it.
I'm gifting you an audio device that is the culmination of my life's research. It was initially meant to be part of a government contract, but you'll understand why I kept it to myself instead of loosing it on the world. In the simplest terms, I created a mind-control device. There are two components; a speaker-like system that emits an almost undetectable frequency that will put anyone into a state of complete obedience and a pair of earbuds that cancel out the effect. It taps into common brain wiring kind of like contagious yawning. I'm not including any technical details because I don't want the technology to be reproduced.
I know this sounds crazy, but watch the included DVD and I think you'll start to believe me. Have fun with this, you deserve it, but be careful and don't get caught or attract the wrong attention. It doesn't take much of an imagination to see how destructive this device could be in the wrong hands.
Thanks for being my friend and enjoy life for me!"
What the fuck was all I could think. Noah was gifted and worked on some major projects from time to time, but this was unbelievable. He wasn't one to play practical jokes, so I had to think that maybe this was all real. I opened up the rest of the contents to find everything he described. What looked like a custom-made wireless speaker, earbuds, charges for both, and a DVD. Reading the letter made me a bit paranoid, I guess Noah would appreciate that. I disconnected my home wi-fi and turned my phone off. I put the DVD in and a basic black background with a white text menu popped up. There were six names as chapters on the menu. My jaw probably dropped as I recognized every single one of them as women we either worked with or knew from somewhere else.
The first name was Dr. Katherine Carter. She is the president of the university I work at. She's about my age, incredibly attractive, and one of the scariest people I've ever met. She's good at what she does, but has no sense of humor and has ruined the careers of men that she even thinks were coming onto her. I pressed play.
The video started and I saw Dr. Carter at her desk in her office. She was dressed in one of her typical pantsuits. Her blonde hair was up in a bun. Her eyes were closed and her breathing was heavy. Her large breasts swayed with each breath. I heard Noah's voice, "Katherine here was given a suggestion when under the influence of the device to enter this deep, sleep-like trance state whenever she hears a special phrase. Repeating the phrase will wake her" The phrase "Turnips should be ready to harvest" popped up on the screen.
The audio muted and I saw Noah sit the device on the desk and put in the earbuds. He pressed a button on the device. A bit later the audio returned and Noah spoke more, "I just added another trigger to Katherine, she'll be incredibly aroused and overwhelmed with a need for sex when she hears this phrase." The phrase "Ohio hasn't had much rain lately" showed up on the screen. The audio muted again then came back on. Dr. Carter woke up and seemed to be discussing research grants. After a couple of minutes, the audio muted for a few seconds and Dr. Carter's eyes blinked and she looked like she was biting her lip. She was wiggling around in her chair and seemed unable to focus on the conversation.
Noah spoke up, "You seem tense, is there something I can help you with to relax?"
Dr. Carter shot him an intense glare that softened into one more of desire. She responded, "I'm going to use you to get off and you will not speak a word of this to anyone or I'll have you fired in an instant."
Noah spoke again, " I can do that for you, but you're going to have to get me going first. I think a blow job is the quickest way to get me hard and in you."
She again initially glared, but her look quickly turned to one of intense need. As she stood up and walked towards him, Noah looked down and started taking off his belt and pants. The camera must be on his glasses.
