Ok, let's get this out of the way, it's not a full update. Think of it like...a Q and A, I'm gonna address some of the comments you guys have been leaving here. I won't be putting anyone's usernames, if you absolutely have to know, I guess you can scour the comments and find the question.
And yes, the full update is coming.
So, number one.
Q: Was it really cheating?
A: Ok, so there's a few of you who've asked this one, in various forms. Most of you point out that we'd really only been going out since the date, and that technically we'd never said we were monogamous or anything.
And yes, that's technically true. The thing is though, both me
and
Vanny grew up with parents who taught us the idea that once you agree to a date with someone, you are 'taken' at least until the end of the date, obviously pending how the date goes. I know it's become a more popular thing nowadays to have multiple partners until you settle down with one, or more, should you be poly.
But for us(me and Vanny), that was cheating.
Q: How long have you been going out?
A: I suppose I've never fully answered this, but we'd been going out with each other for about six or seven months when I posted the first time, and as of this mini update, it's been three years. Sorry for any confusion.
Q: How do you remember all these details and conversations? Did they really happen like that?
A: This one is a bit more complicated...the easy answer is 'magic'. As everyone here knows, magic makes...absolutely no goddamn sense. Even our witches don't know everything. But, every conversation I have with Vanny is burned in my memory, so those recollections are word-for-word accurate, all the memories there are.
The memories of my friends and coworkers, of Gemma and Jake, well they're...less concrete. They might not be the
exact
words or actions, but they're the gist of what was said and done, and I've known those two for decades now. Decades. I could probably know what they'd say to anything, probably even faster than they would!
Q: Is this real?
A: This one was asked so many times. Like I had some of you messaging me to ask for proof! And...well, I kinda get it. It sounds impossible, on so many levels. If I'm being honest, there are days where I think it's all been a dream, a strange wondrous dream.
But, we're here on supportforbewitched, I think everyone here has had an unbelievable experience. I've read a bunch of your posts too, commented on some of them. Hell, the terms and service demands we be honest, and while I'm sure I
could
lie on here, I'm not. It's as real as whoever is reading this.
Q: What are Vanessa's powers/how do they work?
A: Get this one a lot too. I'm not trying to be vague in my posts, but the truth is we're still not really sure. Sort of.
So, obviously, we know that her power is sexual, as the Oracle Glass told her, but the exact extent of that is still unknown to us. Obviously, part of it is creating fantasies and that's our current favourite part of it. Duh.
From there, she has the regular ones; minor tricks like small breezes, body temperature control, she can even temporarily make someone sleepy and distracted, but she has to focus on it, so it's not really super useful.
And there's more to the sexual side too, but you'll have to read the next update for that!
Q: If she really is a witch, where's her Grimoire or Familiar?
A: To all the people who asked me this, thank you. You've assured me that at least some people here have had genuine contact with actual witches.
And...well, it's a bit complicated again. For those who don't know, a witch's Grimoire is...kinda like a spell book. Sort of. It's not always a literal book, and it doesn't technically contain spells.
Well it does. Ok, remember I'm trying to interpret the info ok, I wasn't born into this. From what I gather, a Grimoire is an artifact that each witch receives when they go through the Oracle Glass ceremony. It contains everything they learn about their powers, but can only be read by them, a matriarch/patriarch, and their Familiar. For some, it's their phone, works like an app. For others, it's a traditional leather bound tome, and for others it's as small as a necklace.
For a long time, Grimoire's would be chosen thematically. Like Vanny's grandmother's Grimoire is a vial of ash from the first time she burned something, and when she empties it on the table it arranges itself into her spells. Well for her, to everyone else it looks like ash blowing around.
Vanny's...well, she gave me permission to write everything here, so I guess...Vanny's is a little different. Her first Grimoire was destroyed; the story behind that is coming. To get or make another is highly irregular and took a long time for her. Her mother and I actually helped her with it, it's now a bracelet I gifted her back in our first year of dating. It was one of those charm bracelets and now each charm holds her spells, and when she learns something new, one appears on it, whether she's wearing it or not.
As for her Familiar...well, we'll get there.
Q: Do you become Bambi permanently?
A: This one...was asked a disturbingly large amount of times. And...yes and no. That...short form? I'm Bambi most of the time at home, though not always in 'Bambi Mode'. Long form? Future updates.
Q: Will Vanessa ever write her story here?
A: That one...is possibly in the works. For anyone who's read the terms and service, you know that all posts here are to be by those who are
not
witches, describing their preternatural experiences. Since my posts here have been far more popular than we expected, Vanny and I are talking with some of the mods, hoping we can have Vanny's perspective, or be allowed to link to another forum site with it. I'll post their decision at some point.
Q: Why'd you post this?
A: The first couple of times I saw this comment, I was kinda confused. That's the point of this site, to tell others of our experiences, knowing that we can't tell 'normies' and possibly only people here will ever understand.
And then I read some of your posts. Seems like most of you have had brief experiences, or know very little of witches and their culture. And...well, I posted it to talk about it. I have very
very
few people I can even
mention
it to, let alone write out my feelings and thoughts about it. I can mention it to Jake - yes, we did eventually tell him the bare bones of it - and Gemma, who knows a lot more now, but even then it's limited. Like I still can't really talk about the sexual aspects of it with either of them - though, yes Gemma, I know you're on here too. - and even if I could, I wouldn't really want to. It's a little weird, to be honest. At least here, we're all strangers.
Q: How is Vanessa or you shape shifting into Gemma not cheating?
A: This one also popped up a bunch. A few even messaged me to tell me that it was worse doing that than what Gemma had done. And in part, I can kinda see where y'all are coming from. But also, I don't.
First off, both Vanny and I are fully aware that neither of us
is
Gemma, and that her form is just that.

Second, it's pretty much like playing dress up. You dress up as a slutty nurse and have sex, are you cheating on all nurses? Are you defaming school girls and teachers? No.
