And now on with the show.
Alexia looked up at the partner board yet again and wrinkled her nose then rolled her eyes. "Uggggg fuck... I have to partner with him?... really? I need to get that changed as soon as possible." She thought and looked back to the front row. She didn't even know why he was taking this class, all he ever did was type on his computer and stare off into space, yet all his test were A+. The best she could remember doing was a C-, and that was probably a pity C by the professor.
Steven looked up and smiled to himself at seeing who his partner was going to be for the next project, he had watched her walk in 5 minutes late the first day. She'd been dressed in a tank top and tight red shorts with the word "CHEER" emblazed in white across her ass. She had walked right past him shaking her ass at the entire class, he like the rest of the males and more than a few of the females had watched her wiggle by, he had to admit she did have a cute ass.
Steven looked over at her as she rolled her eyes and sneered at him, then headed to speak with the undergrad teaching the class today, from the way she was moving her hands at the far end of the long desk and the few snippets he picked up she was being told that she'd either team up with me or take an F and she really couldn't take another one of those.
I knew from the many tests that we'd taken she was balanced on failing this class and losing her spot in the cheer team, yes even the cheer team needed to maintain a C average, just like the football team. He heard her sigh loudly and then look down in defeat, she picked up her backpack and slowly walked over to where Steven was still sitting and packing his laptop into his bag.
'The TA says I need to team up with you or get an F for my assignment.' Alexia quietly said and shifted her weight from foot to foot. Steven could tell she was nervous as hell and really didn't want to be his partner.
'Well, if your free now I have a few ideas that might get this project done quickly and allow you to go back to your other pursuits Alex, come on you can ride over to my place it's not far.' He said and stood up then headed for the door. He didn't even look back knowing that she needed him a whole lot more than he needed her. He led her out to the parking lot and towards a newish Camery, he'd bought it with the money he'd made, while in high school, from a cheap app he'd wrote that cost.99 cents, and the upgrades cost just a dime.
Alexia looked at his car and wondered who had bought it for him? did his parents have money or what? Steven hit the remote and then opened the door for her and helped her in, his dad and mom had taught him his manors from an early age and even though Alex may not like him he was still a lady. 'So, who bought you this car?' She asked after he got in and started it up.
Steven looked over at her and smiled. 'I bought it after I made my first app.' He told her and told her which one it was. Alexia just gasped and opened her phone and showed him that she had it installed. 'Well, you and the millions of others who bought my app paid for my car and my education that I really don't need, but my mom and dad told me that it's important to be well educated.' He didn't tell her about the 7 other cheap apps and 4 games that he charged anywhere from 99 cents to $4.99.
He pulled into a driveway and straight into the garage then got out and walked around the car and opened her door for her, then led her to the side door and opened it for her. 'What time do your roommates get back from class?' She asked looking around at the clean kitchen. Steven looked at her and lifted an eyebrow.
'I don't have any renters here; I bought this place first year and will probably keep it once I finish my Master's degree. I've already lined up a place to live when I go to MIT for my PhD.' He replied and led her down the hallway towards his computer room, here he had set up several towers, keyboards, servers, routers and monitors at several workstations. 'Come on in and take a seat.' He said and sat at a station and pulled up several partly finished programs then selected one and sent it to her screen.
'There ya go, it should take about 3 hours to finish your portion of the assignment and then beta test it and then submit it to the collage system.' He told her and brought up a separate program that he was sure would get him his next 10 million dollar paycheck.
Steven checked on Alex 3 hours later and found that she had barely started with her portion of the assignment, she was staring at the screen and looked lost, He looked at what she had already input and saw several bugs that would cause screen errors the second she tried to run it. I pointed those out and told her what to change just not what to change it to, she needed to figure it out for herself to earn her grade.
I went back to my station and started debugging the app I was designing and ran it over and over again to make sure it would load each and every time. I adjusted the program timing and math to improve its speed and refresh time, 2 hours later I had something that I could send to several beta testers I knew with instructions to break it then tell me what had gone wrong.
I wanted it to fail in testing versus when the person buying it tried to use it and have it fail for them. I pulled up another program and started working on it, in this competitive industry one did not rest on your last success. You needed to improve or fall by the wayside; new apps were being sent in to be published every day many never had a single download. The best ones had hundreds of millions and depending on the cost would make their creators rich as hell and spur them to write more programs.
So far, I had coded several cost programs that had netted me over 40+ million in the last few years, I had made sure that I invested quite a bit in precious metal and blue-chip stocks. I'd also made sure that my parents were taken care of, and I'd already paid for my undergrad and master's courses. I figured it would take me 5 years to do that, and I was already 2+ years into my planed academic route.
