"One drink," I warned my friends, "then I'm heading home. You know I'm not into the bar scene. And even if it is Valentine's Day, I am not looking to hook up."
At least that's what I told them, until I glanced over and locked eyes with a tall, young, dark-haired hunk of a man sitting at the next table.
As he slowly began to smile, I couldn't help but smile back, while my friends all watched and grinned.
When he came over and silently held out his hand, I got to my feet and let him lead me onto the dancefloor, with my friends staring at us wide-eyed. I was glad it was a slow song when he pulled me close, pressed his lips to my ear, sending a shiver down my spine as he asked, "What's your name?"
Gazing up into the heat of silver-blue eyes, feeling a little spellbound I said, "I'm Bella."
Pulling me a little closer, he whispered, "And I'm Nicky."
As the songs rolled on, I loved that we kept dancing, with his hand sliding down my back, making my heart pound, while my friends looked on all starry-eyed, as the two of us got off on the feel of each other.
Though I'd never been the type to jump into bed with a man, it just felt for so natural for the two of us to end the night in a hotel room upstairs.
When he pulled me into his arms for a kiss, I smiled against his lips when he murmured, "So, do you think they bought it?"
