Katie slipped off her wedding ring and placed it in the front pocket of her purse, sitting on the desk of her hotel room. She wiggled her fingers, feeling a little naked without it.
Adam would understand, she thought. She thought about slipping it back on. But no, she wanted to play this out, she'd dreamed about it long enough.
She checked her phone. She had a text from Adam. 'Get in okay?'
'Yeah.' she texted back. 'I just got settled in my room.'
'Meeting go ok?'
'Yep. Took some doing, but the clients are happy. I'm going to change and head down to the lobby bar for a drink. LOL.'
'Sounds like a good plan! Glad it went well. I'm just watching the game. Have a great night. Love you.' He texted back.
Katie took off her blouse and work slacks. She stretched and moaned with relief when she took off her bra. Long day. She thought.
She turned the shower to hot and stepped under the water. The shower was quite luxurious, befitting the hotel's luxury rating. Her company had booked her in the extra fancy hotel by way of apology for making her travel over Valentine's.
If only they knew. She grinned mischievously. It was just the opportunity she'd been dreaming of.
She stood under the hot water and let it wash away her tension and stress from the day of travel and tense meetings.
She wet a washcloth and added a few pumps of bodywash from the dispenser in the shower. A card on the vanity had advertised the special soaps and lotions provided were the same as used in their Spa. The bodywash was Jasmine Sea Salt scented. The aroma of the lather seemed to melt away her stress.
As she washed, her long-building fantasy spun into her mind again. She slipped her soapy hands along her skin. Tingling with excitement. She ran them over her breasts, running her fingers over her hard sensitive nipples. She slid one hand down to lather between her legs. She let her fingers slip across her lips and vulva. She bit her lip. In her imagination, they someone else's hands, someone new, a handsome stranger she'd just met. Perhaps a fellow traveler at the hotel bar, no ties between them but mutual desire. She started to swirl her fingers over her clit and pinched a nipple with her other hand, as she imagined bringing him back to her hotel room. She leaned back against the shower wall as her legs started to tense and shake. She rubbed her clit furiously as the waves of pleasure built to crescendo. She moaned with delight as she came, releasing her stress and desire into the orgasm.
She stood under the water for a long moment, catching her breath and letting the glow of the orgasm fade. Then, she finished washing and dried off. She slipped on a black dress. Nothing too revealing, just so she'd fit in with the hotel's upscale clientele.
She went out to the elevator. When it arrived, the doors opened to reveal an older couple.
They had their hands clasped and the lady was snuggled up against her husband's shoulder.
"Good evening," Katie said. She nodded to them.
"Good evening." They smiled back.
She could see their reflection in the gleaming elevator doors after they closed. They looked very in love. It was quite sweet.
"Happy Valentine's Day!" She said to them over her shoulder when the elevator reached the lobby.
"You too!" The woman smiled back.
Katie made her way to the lobby bar. The lobby was full of more happy couples, dressed up, holding hands, headed out for dates and special nights.
She got to the bar and looked for a place to sit. It wasn't too crowded. There were plenty of open seats.
She saw she found what she was hoping for. A handsome man, about her age, sitting by himself, nursing a glass of brown liquor.
She walked over and casually took a seat three chairs down from him at the bar. She consciously avoided looking his way. She pulled over the drink menu and eyed down it.
After a long moment, she let herself steal a glance the man's way. He was looking her way. Not staring, but relaxed back in his seat, gazing down the bar.
His eyes flicked over to meet hers and he smiled. "Good evening." He nodded.
"Good evening." She smiled back.
"Buy your drink?" He offered, tilting his towards her.
"Oh," She said. "No, thank you."
"Fair enough." He nodded cordially and turned to face the TV over the bar where a college basketball game was playing.
Katie let it hang for a long moment and then said, "But maybe I could buy you your next."
He looked back to her and grinned. "Sure." He agreed.
She moved two seats closer, leaving one between them.
The bartender came over just then. "What can I get for you?" He asked.
"I'll have a... Seville Smash." She said, Choosing a citrusy sounding cocktail from the specialty menu. "And whatever the gentleman is having." She gestured to the handsome man sitting near her.
"Johnnie Walker, neat?" The bartender confirmed.
"Yep." The man smiled.
The bartender started working on their drinks.
"I'm Tony." The man said, holding out his hand and leaning forward.
"Violet," she said, giving a fake name and taking his hand for a gentle shake.
"Violet, that's a pretty name."
"Thank you." She said demurely.
"It also happens to be my favorite color." He grinned. "You probably hear that a lot." He acknowledged.
"Not as much as you might think." She gave him an encouraging smile.
The bartender set their drinks down. "Start a tab?" He asked.
"Is it okay if we put it on mine?" Tony asked 'Violet'.
"Sure." She allowed and finally moved over to the seat next to him.
"So what brings you to town?" He asked. "Business or pleasure?"
"Well... business." She said. "But maybe I'll find some of both." She smirked, twirling her finger thoughtfully on the rim of her glass.
That got a twinkling grin from Tony in reply.
"What about you?" She asked.
"Oh, strictly pleasure." He smiled.
That hung in the air for a moment and Katie felt a little unsure of herself. She wasn't used to this sort of flirtation. It was fun, though. She had to admit.
"So, business travel over Valentine's? Your boss must be a real jerk."
"Well, I volunteered." She admitted. "Everyone else had big plans with their boyfriends and husbands, and I felt like it would be nice to get away for a little while."
"Yeah, I can understand that." He grinned.
"You a sports fan?" Tony asked, nodding back towards the TV.
"No, but-" She caught herself. She almost said 'My husband is'. In fact, one of the teams playing was his alma mater. "I don't mind watching with someone who enjoys it." She finished.
"The ones in blue are my team." He said, gesturing at the TV. The blue team were behind. But the score was close, with just a few minutes left.
"Oh, orange has always been more my color." She said. The other team's colors. "Looks like a good game." She observed.
"Yeah, it's been fun. A lot of back and forth."
They watched for a minute and he pumped his fist as the blue team landed a three pointer to take a one point lead. "Hey, how about a bet?" He asked. "Blue Team wins, you let me buy you dinner."
"And if orange wins?" She asked.
"Then I have to buy you dinner." He said, smoothly with a smirk.
Violet gave him a smile, biting her lower lip, crinkling her eyes and amusement. "It's a bet." She said, holding out her hand.
"Bet." Tony said, shaking it.
They both turned to watch the game. 'Violet' let her body slide to the far side of her chair. Moving her knee and lower leg over to brush against his.
As the seconds ticked off the clock, Orange missed a shot. Blue rebounded and ran down the court for a dunk to tie it up.
"Yeah." Tony grunted, quietly, clinching his fist.
She smiled. It was fun watching sports with someone who was into it.
The teams traded baskets. The lead switching back and forth by a point or two until they tied up with under a minute left. Orange drew a foul and made two free throws to take the lead. Violet made sure to clap and cheer after each one, giving Tony a crooked smile to make sure he knew she was rubbing it in.
