By the WAY, editors don't grow on trees. I know I suck at conversational writing. Ok, ok. I suck as a writer.

Lauri came flying out of the house, storming toward her ex-husband. She wasn't sure if he could hear her yelling over the noise, but before this day was over, she had made up her mind he would hear her out.
David purposely ignored her request that he stop until she stormed around him, standing in front of his self-propelled Toro lawn mower with her arms crossed, daring him to run into her.
He knew damn well if he even bumped with the mower, she would have his ass rang up domestic abuse charges. Dropping his shoulders, he knew this day would eventually come, so he finally decided to give her her wish.
Releasing the run lever on the handle, the mower slowly spun to a stop. Removing his ear protectors, he turned to look at the face he came to despise.
Wiping the beads of sweat and dirt from his face, he sighed and asked, "What do you want this time?"
"I was hoping you could spend more time with the kids. They miss you, and so do I," she said with a hopeful smile.
Shaking his head even before, he stated, "There's no way I can spend more time with them. You know damn well I had to pick up a third job. I told you about it two months ago. And now I can't quit."
"What do you mean you can't quit your third job?" She asked with surprise.
She knew damn well why. But he would humor her anyway, "As soon as the courts learned about my third job because of your lawyer, they increased my child support. By the way, who told him?" Looking at her with a scowl.
"I'm not sorry, David. He said I deserved it."
"I got you something you truly deserve, you bitch," he thought to himself. "A 45 slug between the eyes."
"Lauri, my problem is that I don't have the money to pay the lawyer to return to court if I do quit the job. And because of the system works, I can't leave; I will have to continue working every weekend for the foreseeable future. I'm stuck with it now.
