Intro from 13D
: David and his team are visiting a new site opportunity. It's late in the day so they register at the Hotel booked for them and are settling in. Honor, disarmed by a misunderstanding with David, rushes for the shower but forgets to take her bag.

He found the others snuggled up seemingly asleep, so he bent down to his briefcase to recover his book reader and found himself looking into a mirror on the dresser that showed 3 sets of eyes wide open following his every move. He made to get up and he watched all three sets of eyes snap shut. 'So' he said to himself, 'they are not welcoming company tonight'. He smiled to himself and went to kiss each one on the cheek before heading through the door, unfortunately forgetting to give Honor enough time. As he stepped through, Honor was coming in the opposite direction wearing just a hotel towel and she looked delectable he thought and his other brain decided that he wasn't tired after all. She saw him as she reached for her bag and put a hand out to pick it up, she was so surprised that she forgot she was holding a towel up and it promptly headed south showcasing her luscious charms. In earlier times David would have been the gentleman and averted his eyes, this new David leaned against the door frame and enjoyed every moment.
Eventually Honor managed to get the towel back in place and her bag in hand, at which point David passed her by and headed for the singles bedroom saying "You can have the double or you can join the others, whatever floats your boat. They are up to something so you might want to find out what, either way I will be in the far room asleep." And with that he collected his things and went on his way, while Honor just stood transfixed not knowing what the hell she wanted to do. 'He'd seen her body, hell he hadn't just seen it he pretty much made love to it with his eyes. And he didn't try to touch her, what was the madman made of, Ice?'
Meanwhile, Jo and Bree had their plans interrupted by hungry babies and Ruth went to join them. "If I asked him are you sure he wouldn't mind" she asked them both for what seemed like the 5
th
time. So they knew what the subject was, David giving her a baby. "Of course" they echoed once again, "do it tomorrow while we are wandering around the land, we will keep out of the way while you do. But don't forget to tell him that you still have to ask your husband."
Ruth and Jo looked at each other, subject finished. They had a burning question they wanted to ask?
"What's going on Bree?" Ruth led the way.
"What do you mean?" She hedged.
"Showering alone, late rush to the aircraft, not wanting to sleep with David, come on girl something is up."
"You both think the world of David, if I tell you then you have no alternative but to tell him and it might upset you too."
The other women had already made their own assumptions and they thought that David knew too.
"You don't think he already knows?"
At some point in their discussion, Honor had stepped into the room and stopped to take in the scene, the three were sitting in a group beside the cots whilst Susan, the nurse, sat on a bed at the far end of the room reading, she had earphones on and was completely unaware of what was being discussed, she preferred it that way and always tried to avoid overhearing any communication between her 'clients'. Honor had no such qualms, in fact the more she could learn the better was her mantra so that she could be one step ahead of anything that might affect her. She heard the women discussing David and their own behaviour and found herself somewhat confused; the way they talked suggested that he really didn't have much say in what happened on the relationship side of things. Bree was admitting that she just had sex with three athletic and built men and was afraid that David might find out if he joined her in bed. She also admitted that sometimes she got itchy feet like then but afterwards realised that it was just a fling. The others were suggesting that she should just act normally because David accepted that each of the women would want outside interests, "I know from discussions with him when we have been away together that he doesn't expect anyone to stay for ever, but in your case there is a baby that surely must affect your thinking," observed Ruth.
She went on, "it's part of the reason I am worried about asking him for a baby, I've just escaped from the 'velvet prison' my husband had me in unknowingly, and I don't want to go into another one.
"But surely that is so much different," interjected Jo. "What else would you want from life beyond what you have right now?"
"Your right, I know that in my heart, I suppose I still feel the tether from my husband even though he doesn't interfere with my life now, I have to tell him that I want a baby with someone else though."
"You don't want to tell him that it might be David?"
"I am a bit afraid that he might take it against him or that he might refuse and try to block me even though he shoots blanks himself."
"Why don't you let him think that he is the one suggesting David, rather than insemination by someone he doesn't know, use your feminine wiles on him," suggested Bree, who was a master of winding men around her finger.
"My concern is that he'll want to bring the child up as his own and I am not sure how David would react to that."
"Hmmm I see what you mean" said Bree, "I think we are back to square one, you need to speak to the man himself, you know you want to."
"I know," she sighed.
Bree took the opportunity to turn the conversation on to their behaviour, "OK so what's going on with you two that you aren't jumping his bones right now?"
Ruth and Jo looked at each other like startled rabbits. "Is it that obvious?"
"Of course it is, we've all been as jealous as hell about that team he got together in California and now he chooses us and we haven't been near him."
"We are thinking of moving out of the Retreat main home and into one of the separate home units."
"Are you intending to shut him out in an entirely monogamous relationship?"
"We haven't decided anything yet." said Jo, shamefaced.
Well you had better make up your mind quickly because like me, he probably knows already and we both know that the essential rule of our bond with him is honesty; I still admire Ana for the way she handled her situation. From what I can deduce, her relationship with Zoe is not so good since Ana brought her into the Retreat, but her relationship to David never wavered, if anything it grew stronger when she originally told him. My problem is that although I wanted the guys, well one in particular really, there is no way I would want to hook up full time with him, I've been down that road before, it would be nice to have a little fun occasionally though.
"Do you really think David would mind that much?" asked Ruth, relieved that the spotlight had moved from her and Jo.
"I think this time I was bad, very bad and if I was him I would be very angry."
