"Are you honorable or afraid of getting caught?" Frank Sonnenberg
Surprise:
"Mom, do you have a special friend?"
The question was asked by her nine-year-old daughter, Adrian, Adi for short. Her twin brother Michael was looking out the car window, seemingly oblivious to his sister's curiosity.
"Mommy has lots of special friends, like Aunt Gail, Mrs. Watson, and Mrs. Kemper, why do you ask dear?" The response came from Kathy Andrews, thirty-nine-year-old mother who was driving her kids home from soccer practice after meeting her lover Ed Porter for a quickie at the Motel Six about three miles from the soccer practice facility. It was where they always met. It was out of the way, so she was sure she'd gone undetected... again.
For the last five months Kat, to her friends, had been fucking young Ed Porter at least once a week. She justified her betrayal by convincing herself it was a midlife crisis, and it would pass. She had little to no affection for Ed, but he was fifteen years her junior, thought she was one hot MILF and made her feel very young and alive, even adventuresome.
Her paramour was nothing like her husband Mitch. Her spouse was dependable, mature, wise beyond his years, loving and kind. Everyone who knew him liked him. He was tall and good looking, an excellent provider which allowed Kat to set aside her career in marketing and devote her time to the gym, their kids, her friends, and recently young Ed.
Mitch came from money, a trust fund kid in fact, but he never touched it. He was an exceptional litigator who rarely ended up in court since most in the legal profession had no desire to square off with him in front of a jury. He was already a partner in his firm, a highly valued commodity at Simms, Edwards & Conners, one of the top practices in Columbus, Ohio. He made good money, but humble and affable with everyone he met. All of that and he never missed one of the kid's games, recitals, or other important family events.
Her husband was part of the reason Kat was cheating. He was so dependable and winsome she was sure they would have an amazing life and grow old together. In her warped way of thinking, Kat thought she loved Mitch and would eventually tell Ed he was history. She told herself she deserved this romp because she was getting older, having been a mom now for nine years. She needed to know she was attractive, desirable, and wanted, not just by Mitch, but by a younger, wilder man who could have his pick of women but chose her.
Ed, fresh out of college for two years could definitely have his pick of women. He'd met Kat at a 5K road race that raised money for the local children's hospital. Ed was slick, smooth, and irritatingly charming. He was all the things Kat hated about young guys when she was in college, but now longed for the type of attention that a player could provide.
And so it was that only forty minutes earlier, at the Motel Six, Ed had Kat on her hands and knees pulling her hips firmly back onto his above average cock, while she panted like a bitch in heat. He unceremoniously spanked her ass while fucking her from behind while she begged him to give it to her harder and faster. He called her slut and whore while making her acknowledge that her cheating married pussy belonged to him and he was much bigger and better than Mitch. Kat had felt bad the first couple of times about allowing Ed to mock and berate Mitch while he plowed her, but he did such wonderfully dirty things to her she began to enjoy his dirty talk and dominance. She'd even given him her ass the third time he fucked her, something she never did with Mitch.
"Fuck Kat," Ed had sighed when he was done with her, "You're such a dirty married whore. I just can't get enough of your cheating pussy."
"It's all yours big boy," Kat purred, as he slid out of her with one final smack on the ass.
She looked at her watch, quickly showered and gave Ed a kiss goodbye. "Mitch is taking the kids camping next weekend lover, so we'll have more time for fun. Gotta run, don't want to be late picking up the kids."
Now in the car, Adi's question brought Kat back to reality. She wasn't sure why she'd asked it, her daughter knew her friends, so she concluded her answer with the question," Why do you ask sweetheart?"
"My friend Julie told me her mom said you have a special friend, a different friend that you spend time with. A man you like more than daddy." Kat suddenly felt a lump in her throat.
"Adi, I have lots of friends, but nobody is more special to me than your daddy!"
"Then why don't you hug and kiss him anymore?" It was amazing what kids could pick up. Kat knew her time with Ed was eroding her affection for Mitch, but she was shocked her young daughter noticed.
Adi responded, "Daddy seems sad, so I asked him why. Was because you have a new special friend and don't kiss and hug him anymore?" Kat was lucky she didn't lose control of the car and drive off the road straight into a ditch.
She could feel her hands becoming clammy and her heart racing. "I do love your daddy. I hug and kiss him all the time sweetie."
"No, you don't mom," Michael chipped in joining the conversation. "Adi and I talk about it all the time. You used to hug and kiss dad every day when he came home from work. After dinner you would hug on the couch while reading to us and after we went to bed we could sometimes hear you guys kissing in the hallway, but not anymore."
Stunned and trying to keep her composure Kat replied. "Maybe I haven't kissed and hugged daddy like I should. That is important for moms and dads to do. But I don't love any friend like I love your daddy and the two of you. Thank you for helping me remember that. I can' wait to get home and smother daddy with hugs and kisses."
The answer seemed to mollify her children which was a huge relief. Kat was pleased with herself. Technically, she hadn't lied. She had no genuine love for Ed, just an intense lust. She thought perhaps it was time to wrap it up with her young stud. She'd proved to herself that she was still hot and desirable. Why take any serious risk with her marriage? "Yes," she thought, "Time to tell Ed goodbye... after next weekend's epic two-day romp while Mitch and the kids were camping...."
But, what to do about Julie's mom Heather, that nosey bitch. How on earth did she know anything? Why would she say that to her daughter. Surely she knew she would repeat it to Adi. Kat was becoming angrier with this soon to be ex-friend.
Ironically, it never dawned on the cheating slut that she was the one at fault. She was the one betraying her vows and giving herself wantonly to another man. The thought that she had no genuine deep love for Mitch, only love for what he gave her never entered her brain. Like other cheaters she had found a way to remain self-righteous while living a lie that would potentially destroy her marriage and leave lifelong emotional scars on her children.
While Kat was void of any loving and rational way to admit wrong and work toward forgiveness and healing, her mind was filled with how to cover all this up until it went away. Then she'd deal with Heather.
Mitch was home when they arrived and both kids jumped into his arms. Adi was grinning from ear to ear, "Daddy mommy wants to give you more hugs and kisses now. She doesn't like her special friend more than you. She said she loves you!"
Mitch looked over Adi's shoulder. If Kat was paying any attention at all she would have seen sadness, not surprise in her husband's eyes, but again, her focus was on deception and getting away clean, not loving the man whose heart she had crushed.
"Thanks Adi, I loved mommy's hugs and kisses," Mitch replied before turning away from Kat who was moving toward him with open arms. Instead of embracing his wife he helped Michael with his backpack. Adi had run off to her room and Michael soon did the same.
