Are you sure you want to wear that when you go swimming? If some guy sees you it might give him some ideas..."
"Mom it's a one piece! You can't expect me to swim in more clothes than this." I was standing on the edge of our dock on the river our cottage was on. I was getting ready to swim up the river and back like I often do, if it weren't for my paranoid mother delaying me. Ever since she caught me kissing my date good night one time last year it's been her hobby to make sure I never have skin showing. She seems to think every guy that looks at me wants to bend me over and use me like a doll.
Little does she know how wet I get thinking about being used.
"Mom I'm just swimming up to the island and back like always. Odds are that nobody is even going to see me."
"I know. Fine, just be back soon." I smiled and dove into the water, feeling the cool water all over my body. I put my goggles on then swam away, feeling her eyes until I turned the corner.
The cottage my family owns is on a gentle river that twists and turns. As a hobby I like to swim up to a nearby island and back, getting some exercise. Usually it takes me a little over an hour for the trip. Through my goggles, the water was clear but dark, allowing me to see what's in front of me but hiding far away crevices.
I swam a while, letting the gentle current guide me towards my goal. I knew all the curves and bends in the river. I knew the six cottages I would pass on the journey - two on the left, and four on the right, until I came back and everything would be opposite. The river banks on either side looked as bright and as green as ever and it felt like home.
I turned another bend and came near my favourite cottage. The building itself wasn't spectacular, just a little larger than the others. The part that I liked was the fact that the river in front of them was straight but it bent just past the dock on both sides. This gave them a small but very private stretch that they could really call their own. It was the only cottage that I was aware of like that.
Typically, I used this spot as a straight shot for a faster pace. I pushed a bit harder, focusing on my breathing and my stroke, driving myself down the river faster. Suddenly bright red flashed across my vision, surprising me out of my rhythm. I choked on the river water as I came to a stop, wondering what the hell happened.
About 5 feet away from me, a head burst through the water, shaking out a big head of dark curls. Smiling back at me was a very pretty, exotic looking girl in a red swim suit.
"Hey beautiful!" The girl said, smiling at me. I was taken back a bit. Nobody calls me beautiful like that.
"Me?" I asked
"Yes you." The girl swam closer to me, coming within distance for a conversation. The closer she got, the more I realized that she was the one that people should be calling beautiful.
"I'm Simone." She said. I took off my shaded goggles, giving myself a moment for my eyes to adjust to the Sun.
"I'm Claire." I said in return.
"Nice to meet you Claire. Sorry if I startled you when I jumped in." I laugh a bit, trying my best to sound care free. I'm not sure how genuine it sounded.
"It's fine, I just was surprised because I stayed away from the docks so I didn't think anyone would jump this far."
"It helps when you have a rope swing." Simone looked back at her cottage and I followed her gaze. Their deck ran the width of the land, running parallel to the river. A small beach was on one side and a deck stuck out into the water in the middle of the property. On the side opposite the beach was a tree at the edge of the deck with a rope dangling over the water. Given the closeness of the cottage to ours I was familiar with most of the features but I never noticed the rope before.
"I haven't seen that before. That's pretty cool." I said.
"Do you want to try it?" Simone asked, looking back at me. Part of me wanted to finish my swim like I intended. The other part knew that this was a great opportunity to make a new friend that was nearby and get a closer look at my dream cottage, something I've been wanting to do for years now.
"Sure! Sounds great." I said, genuinely excited about this opportunity. Simone beamed her smile back at me.
"Great let's go." She turned around and swam back towards the ladder on the deck, slightly away from the rope swing. Following her red bikini bottoms, we went to the deck together.
Using the ladder, Simone pulled herself out of the water and revealed to me the rest of her body for the first time. Her boobs were a bit smaller than mine- I guessed a C cup- and her legs and thighs were thicker than mine. As she stood up I noticed that her bikini clung tightly to her bum, which was round and thick, like her thighs. Last of all, she had a silver anklet on her left ankle that jiggled slightly as she walked.
"Like the view?" Simone asked. It was then that I realized I had stayed in the water, looking at her. I put my head down slightly, trying not to blush as I climbed out of the water.
"Sorry I was admiring your anklet. Where are you from?"
"My family and I are from Brazil. You?"
"We're from Toronto, but originally from France, generations ago." I replied.
"Do you speak French then?" Simone asked, looking at me up and down as I now stood next to her.
"Oui." I said, which made her laugh.
"Amazing. C'mon. Let me show you this rope." We walked over together, getting the deck nice and wet. The deck was only a couple feet above the water, but the rope hung from high enough that it was a good length, which would let it swing pretty far over the water. The rope hung limp about 3 feet from the edge of the deck, dangling in the sunlight. Simone bent at the waist as she reached out to grab it, quickly grabbing one of the knots tied into it for a handle. For a moment I admired the way her bikini hung high on her hips, displaying her entire side in its smooth sexiness. She passed the rope to me and I grabbed it, taking a step back. I ran forwards and jumped, leaping off the edge. I felt myself fall slightly before being swung forward by the rope, moving quickly over the water. Just as I started to slow down, I let go and soared through the air before being enveloped by the cool water.
I looked back and Simone was on the deck, cheering.
"Like a baby bird learning to fly!" She yelled. The rope swung back to her and she grabbed it easily. She took a step back then ran forwards and jumped, pumping her legs forwards in midair to get even higher. At the peak of her swing she let go and pitched herself forwards, landing going into the water in a dive. Her wet hair flew wildly until she touched the water and surfaced next to me.
"Like an Amazonian warrior swinging into battle!" I said and she laughed even harder this time, her eyes sparkling.
We repeated it over and over again, giggling like little kids the whole while. As soon as we landed in the water we would swim to the dock to get back up and swing again and again. Before long we were both out of breath and standing on the deck, now thoroughly soaked.
"Want to hang out a bit?" Simone asked and I happily nodded. Simone went over to a set of lounge chairs on the side of the deck and laid down, and I took the chair next to her. The chair was warm from the sun and felt nice on my skin. Made me feel very comfortable very quickly. Simone put on a pair of sunglasses sitting on the little table next to her and laid back in the sun. We laid side by side and chatted a bit, getting to know each other better. She was going to the same university as me for biology and I was studying economics, I told her. Our houses were only 20 minutes drive from each other and we had the same favourite boy band. She was 8 months younger than me, but we were still both 21. We agreed sweet chili heat Doritos were the best flavour.
"Glad to see you two getting along." I heard a man say behind me. I turned my head and saw a tanned man with black hair standing behind me, holding a tray of drinks and snacks, along with a bottle of sunscreen.
"Claire, this is my dad. Dad this is Claire." Simone said quickly. We shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. He asked me a lot of the similar questions Simone and I had discussed and he was really happy to hear our cottage was nearby. Then he told us that he's going into town for some shopping.
