A very hot Saturday had dawned. Little did I know when I awoke that everything about my life would change before before nightfall.
My parents had named me Ken twenty years ago to the day. My twin sister was named Leah. Born 3 minutes before I came into the world, she would become my best friend, not to mention the girl whom I would consult about relationship matters.
She joined me at the table on the porch that morning at 8 o'clock.
"Happy Birthday Ken."
"Right back at ya Leah."
The 5 6, 125 pound green-eyed blond was wearing a white cropped halter top and low-rise jeans that showcased her spectacular curves. Girl if you weren't my sister I would be all over your pussy.
I answered a knock on the door to find Alan Coontz. My best friend, he had enrolled at Patchoque high school a few days after the start of senior year. He and I hit if off immediately.
A handsome blue-eyed blond, Alan stands 5' 9" tall. Though lean, he is athletic.
He was holding a basketball against his left side. His weight shifted slightly to that leg putting his right toe slightly forward.
The basketball court at the park was vacant when we arrived so we played one on one as planned. The alternative plan was to go to the beach where we would spend perhaps a couple of hours.
The contest to determine who's the better player ended with both of us winded. Beads of sweat on our foreheads and wet spots on our teeshirts gave evidence to exertion in the summer heat.
"It's a good day for a swim," I said.
"Yes, it is," he replied.
We dipped into flat water between the south coast and Fire Island, a natural barrier. We remained submerged for several seconds, poked our heads out of the water then submerged again.
This action was repeated several times.
Back ashore my gaze locked onto girls in their two-piece swimsuits. Alan asked about the babe fifty feet distant on my left.
"Would you do her?"
I gave the knee jerk reply
"The one in the American flag bikini," I asked.
"No, the other one," he replied sharply.
I let his sense of humor, a reference to the boyfriend, pass over my head.
A minute later I couldn't resist making a remark.
"If I were a girl I might go for him."
