It was a cold afternoon; the city lay shrouded in fog, visibility cut short. Lila strode toward her favorite coffee shop, her leather jacket fending off the chill. She raised a hand to fix her long black hair, beaded bracelets jangling on her wrist, then pressed her glasses back on her face before stepping inside. A novel bell jingled as she entered. Erza's eyes flicked to the door to greet the new customer, but a familiar shadow haunted the threshold. She relaxed, a smirk creeping across her lips.
"The usual, Lila?" Erza called out as Lila sauntered to the counter, leaning forward to reveal a subtle glimpse of skin.
"Mmm, make it a double today, darling. I'm exhausted," Lila purred softly. "Long night." She winked, her fingers brushing Erza's hand.
"You got it. It'll be just a moment." Erza's gaze lingered on Lila's exposed cleavage a touch longer today, her subtle lip-bite not escaping Lila's notice. Lila pressed her arms together, accentuating her curves before standing and strolling to her usual window seat, awaiting her coffee. Lila sighed, chin resting in her hand as she gazed at passersby. She shifted her gaze to Erza, the tall, slender barista crafting her coffee. Her brunette hair tightly braided, Erza's green eyes darted around her station, focused on her task, though a heated gaze made her blush. A familiar, welcome heat, she stole a sideways glance at the dark-skinned punk by the window.
Seeing her daily, Erza had developed a crush on the seemingly confident alternative woman. Was Lila into women, or merely flirting for a free drink? Erza mused. Though Lila always tipped generously, doubt gnawed at Erza's mind--no one that attractive would bother with plain old her.
The coffee made, Erza walks over to Lila and places it next to her right hand, accidentally brushing her hand against Lila's soft skin. "Oops, sorry!" Erza giggles. "Here's your drink!" She beams with a blush on her face while Lila chews on her lip, a frustration creeping onto her face.
"How long are we going to do this dance, babe?" Lila sighs. Erza blinks in confusion, tilting her head.
"I'm not sure--" Erza is cut off, being pulled onto Lila's lap, wrapping her arms around her. She inhales deeply, and the scent of coffee beans is strongest on her.
"Mmmm, I've been dying to do this since I first came into this place," Lila purrs, gently squeezing Erza. Erza gasps and wiggles on her lap, laughing nervously.
"I--uh--this is crazy!" Erza doesn't complain, more thinking of losing her job for sitting on a customer. Luckily, the cameras pointing at the store's interior stopped working a week ago.
"Do you want me to stop? Did I pick up something you weren't putting down?" Lila muses, her voice husky. It makes Erza sit still, melting a bit more into her, wrapping her arms around Lila's.
"N-no, I'm just at work and..." Lila jiggles her legs, lifting the lightweight Erza. She giggles.
"And?" Lila continues.
"And... how could a hot woman like you like me?" Erza quietly murmurs. Lila squeezes even tighter and leans back so Erza's face is closer; the scent of coffee and lilacs now fills her nostrils.
