Agonizingly stiff is how I feel. But I guess three days on a bus will do that to you.
I am finally here though and glad that I can start my "vacation" if that is what it can be called. Sent to live with my mother's only family left in Mexico for the duration of the summer since she will be too busy doting on her new lover to have any time for me. Not that I need any looking after having just graduated high school but she says that some time away from home will do me good. And it will, since I have spent every waking moment of my life on my studies instead of partying and having boyfriends like a normal teenager.
I enter the main terminal in the plaza and search for a familiar face.
"Daniela!"
I quickly turn around and then start towards my aunt Patricia who is waiting for me. Once in front of her I give her a one arm hug and we are soon off to the truck with my luggage in tow.
The ride to the rancho is quick and silent and before I know it I am unpacking and getting settled in. I am set up in a sparsely furnished room on the second floor. My aunt's room is on the first floor giving me an ample amount of privacy. After I am done unpacking I grab my bag of toiletries and head for the shower wanting to rid myself of the sweat and dirt of the past three days.
