The anxiety felt overwhelming. Everything had gone well, she obeyed just as Jesse had wanted, but why had he left so suddenly? Kaitlyn wasn't under any impression that he felt anything for her, but she had expected something more than I have shit to do.
The previous weekend saw Kaitlyn left alone: her parents and brother spending the weekend away while Oliver had interviews for his post-graduate studies. She had initially planned on studying and focusing on getting Jesse out of her mind, but with a simple text message, her plans were thrown into disarray. Their deal had taken a rocky turn: where it had started as a means to protect her brother from his bully, it had led to her on all fours, naked on her brother's bed, covered in the warm, sticky seed of Jesse. Deep down, Kaitlyn knew she should feel disgusted with herself, regretful even... but why did she only feel disappointed?
The sex had been incredible. It was rough, hard, with no care or love involved; something Kaitlyn was not used to by any means. But it was passionate, raw, and electrifying. Even if she had no feelings for Jesse, it had been such an intense experience that there was no way she could regret it. Of course, a voice whispered to her saying 'How could you betray Oliver? Your brother would be humiliated if he ever found out!' but at some point, Kaitlyn knew she couldn't worry about her brother's feelings. The ends don't always justify the means, but she knew that this was the right way to protect him. What concerned her though, was how Jesse had responded.
Both Kaitlyn and Jesse had given into their carnal pleasure, simply using each other's bodies for their own gratification. But when things had finished... he simply left. It was a sudden, jarring experience, and one that had left Kaitlyn reeling. Had he mocked her, teased her, or even made a snide remark disparaging Oliver she would have felt more at ease than the simple nothingness of his actions. Did she do something wrong? The feeling of not measuring up left a sour taste in her mouth, and before their last meeting all that she could focus on was the ever-building need for release, it was now a build-up of anger. Kaitlyn needed answers but had no idea how to go about getting them.
"Katie! Are you even listening to me?" Oliver snapped, gently shaking Kaitlyn's arm. Jumping in surprise, she came crashing back to reality, walking through the winding halls of the Britannia University Campus.
"Hm? Oh! Sorry Ollie, what'd you say?" she asked, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand in an attempt to focus. Oliver sighed exasperatedly, before giving his sister a soft laugh.
"I was saying that you've been spacing out like this all week. I'm starting to get worried," he said, putting an arm around her shoulder and squeezing reassuringly. "You might be pushing yourself too hard."
"Yeah I've just been going like crazy," Kaitlyn replied, nodding in agreement. "Sorry for worrying you, but the party tonight will be a great way to relax! You're coming right?"
"I don't know... your Sorority parties aren't really my thing," Oliver replied sheepishly, his eyes dropping to his feet as the pair continued to walk.
"Well, if you're not going to go, I'm not going to go," Kaitlyn said matter-of-factly, turning to give her brother a reassuring smile. "I think if you gave it a chance you'd enjoy yourself. We can go for a couple of hours, have a few drinks, mingle and then go home. How does that sound?"
"Will it really only be a couple of hours though? Or will you go off with your friends and leave me alone?" Olver said, a tinge of sarcasm in his voice as he raised a disbelieving eyebrow.
"I won't leave you all alone, Ollie," Kaitlyn said with a tone of finality. "You know some of the girls and they're looking forward to seeing you too. You wouldn't want to let them down, would you? I told them about your interviews and they're excited to celebrate with you!"
As the words left her mouth, Oliver's face turned a deep crimson. He had never been popular with women, yet Kaitlyn's sorority sisters all saw him as their own brother. They teased him just as she would, and treated him as if he were family: a fact that he hated. They were all beautiful and popular; belonging to a crowd that he had never been a part of, and the thought he might be able to join was a terrifying one.
"Alright, fine. If it means you'll stop bugging me about it," Oliver laughed, holding his hands up in mock surrender.
"Good! You should know by now you can't beat me when I set my mind to something," Kaitlyn chuckled mischievously before pulling out her phone to check the time. "I promised Mel that I would meet her at the house to get ready and set up. The party officially kicks off at around eight, but you can swing by anytime after seven."
"Okay, I'll see you then!" Oliver said, sounding more upbeat. The twins gave each other a quick goodbye, before going their separate ways. Kaitlyn made her way through the University campus towards Greek Row: the main street that was the home to all of the Fraternities and Sororities on campus. Her sorority, Theta Lambda, was towards the entrance of Greek Row, only three houses down, and even in the early afternoon, it was abuzz with activity. However, as she approached the property, Kaitlyn was stopped by the calling of a familiar voice.
"Hey Katie, hold up a second," Jesse's voice called out, as he jogged up behind her. Kaitlyn turned around, her heart beating in her chest. After so many days of wondering, tearing herself to pieces over how things had ended between them, here he was: the only person in the world who could give her answers.
"Oh... hey," Kaitlyn said, trying to remain aloof. Of course, she felt a sense of urgency: it would be disastrous if anyone who knew her or Oliver saw the pair speaking. "Sorry I'm in a bit of a hurry-"
"Don't worry, this won't take long," he said looking over her shoulder towards the Sorority house. "I wanted to let you know that a few of us are planning on stopping by the party tonight. It's Louis's birthday and he just started dating Nadia..."
"Ugh, of course, Nadia would date someone from Sigma Sigma Omega," Kaitlyn laughed, shaking her head exasperatedly. "Okay so, why are you telling me?"
"Because I didn't want you to have a surprise that'd ruin your night," Jesse said, frowning at her. "That, and because-"
"You want to do our next hookup?" she asked, placing a hand on her hip and glaring at him. "You just wanted to let me know, so that I'd be at your beck and call?"
Jesse's frown immediately turned into fake outrage, every muscle in his face working to not grin. "Who, me? I'm not that predictable, but now that you mention it... it is a great opportunity, isn't it?"
Kaitlyn rolled her eyes in response, but suddenly fear gripped her stomach. Oliver would be attending the party and if Jesse was planning on asking for her next payment to protect him, they would be in a precarious position. The pair had hooked up in a public place before and were almost caught, but doing it in a house full of her Sorority sisters, various frat boys who knew them both, and Oliver who was expecting to spend time with her, there was no way they wouldn't get caught.
