A Kiss On The Forehead
This series is dedicated to the peculiar, the weird, the not-so-missionary of it all. It's the curious little quirks in our sex lives that show up in the oddest of places. Some volumes may seem pretty basic by now as we've expanded our sexual tastes- but nonetheless, we spend the time deliciously celebrating each individual kink as we peruse - the Fetish Library. Please do keep in mind though that these stories aren't meant to be detailed explainers for the how and why of things, that all participants are 18 and over, and situations where consent isn't explicitly given are strictly fantasy.
"Randy, are you ready to go or what?" Rebecca slammed the door behind her and beelined to the kitchen, looking for a bottle of wine. "We're going to be late, and if we're late we're going to have to hang back so we don't spoil the surprise," She turned a bottle of red around in her hand, trying to gauge its cost while explosions and swearing were heard from down the hall.
"Babe, what are you doing? Are you watching a movie? We've gotta go, cmon!" Walking towards the bedroom, Becks was greeting by Randy -her boyfriend of four years- still dressed in his dirty sweats.
"Hey Becks, I'm not feeling up to it, so I ordered some pizza, just give them my apologies,"
Rebecca's face dropped, and she nearly popped him in the face with the wine bottle.
"But its YOUR friend's kid"
"You know em too, its not like you're strangers- just tell them I've got a stomach ache. C'mon babe, pleeeease? I'm in the middle of a game," Randy scratched himself, his eyes darting back to the TV while voices could be heard in the headset around his neck. Rebecca's ire slowly changed to resignation as she studied his blank face. The only thing worse than attending this surprise party, was not. She had RSVPd weeks back, spent an hour on the phone listening to Randy's friend's wife bitch about motherhood, and given up a girl's weekend to attend. And yet once again, here was her boyfriend doing well below the minimum. She had put so much time into the relationship, met his friends and family, covered for him and kept up appearances, all for what?
"I also forgot to get a gift," He gave her a kiss on the cheek and turned back to his gaming console. "Tell them I wish I could have been there, thanks babe. You're the best!" The game was unpaused and Randy went back to cursing out his buddies while Rebecca slowly turned away.
This had to be the last straw, she told herself, jamming the wine into her oversized bag and stalking out the door. She would go to this party, make excuses for him while plotting an early exit then go home to take-out and sorrowful drunkeness. Fuck Randy. Fuck this whole bullshit. She was done.
Of course, she had to buy this guys kid a stupid present first.
Twenty minutes on a train put Rebecca near a downtown department store, and she had done nothing but internally rage at Randy and feel sorry for herself the entire time. Why did she let him get away with this inconsiderate behaviour for so long? How pathetic had she been? Was it that obvious to others? Why was she still going to this birthday party? Ugh! Fucking social obligations. She hated it. The only thing that kept her going after grabbing a big stupid teddy bear was the realization that after this party, she would be free... and alone. Ugh, there was that self doubt again. But no! Fuck that. Rebecca reminded herself that she was better off without Randy, and his dumb friends anyhow. She would just drop off this toy, explain to Randy's friend's wife they were breaking up and... sigh. She couldn't do that could she?
Rebecca stopped in the middle of an aisle and decided to throw caution to the wind. Fuck it if she was late, she was going to do a little retail therapy first. She felt like such an impetuous brat walking up the escalator to the lingerie section, passing by a row of men's briefs before spotting something lacy and black. She promised to spend double what this teddy bear cost on something for herself. Rebecca was fingering the detailed trim on a skimpy camisole when she backed up into someone.
"Oh shit, I'm sooo sorry, I-" She turned to offer her profuse apologies, but found herself staring up at a tall, gorgeous older man with piercing blue eyes. Instinctively her hand had flown up to brace herself, landing in the middle of his chest. Meanwhile the stranger had warily gripped her arm to keep the two them steadied.
"Are you okay miss? I'm very sorry, I didn't look where I was going,"
Rebecca silently gawked at this man; his broad shoulders and warm smile causing a tickle in her stomach as she broke out into a grin. He smiled back and she took in the gentle crinkle around his eyes and the slight greying of his temples.
"No, no- I'M sorry, I just backed up and... You're... quite handsome," She couldn't believe what she'd just said out loud. "Oh my god, what did I just say?" Rebecca covered her mouth as the man gave a hearty laugh, gripping her right shoulder while patting her left in a friendly, concerned matter.
"Well, thank you - you are very cute yourself, again I'm sorry I'll just let you get back to your shopping," He looked down at the lumpy teddy bear and grinned again before turning into the men's underwear section. Rebecca smiled and watched him walk away, stepping backwards into the racks of lingerie.
For the next few minutes she perused the options, all the while staring over at the stranger. She willed him to look back, to see her amongst all the sexy underwear and to notice her. By the time he finally did, their eyes locked and Rebecca stared at him wantonly, just two big eyes peering over a collection of thongs and boy shorts. The man nodded, turned away, then turned back to see if she was still looking. They kept their distance while shuffling through their respective sections, daring the other to approach. It was when Rebecca had turned to size up a pair of simple cotton panties that she finally felt a tap on her shoulder.
"I just wanted to check on you to make sure you were alright," He looked down at her with deep, concerned eyes. Rebecca forced a grin and tried to come off as sultry.
"I need some help," He studied her face, watching the facade begin to crack. "I uh, really need some help," The second time around she found herself weirdly emotional, with a single tear falling from her eye. The man brought his hand up and caught it with his thumb, wiping it across her cheek. He watched her face with genuine care, causing her to blush and turn away with embarrassment.
"I'm sorry, I've just... broken up with my boyfriend," She lied, fingering through another rack of clothes while staring at the ground. "It's been a long time coming,"
"Oh I'm very sorry to hear that, that must be very hard," Rebecca fought a smile as her discomfort made her want to crack a naughty joke. She blinked her eyes dry and tried to put on a good face.
"It's just made me think about just going for whatever I want, y'know. Live a little, be free. Do all the things I never allowed myself to do! Do all the things I'm not supposed to do!" Rebecca dropped her face, but shot her eyes up at the stranger in a mischievous fashion. For his part, he seemed to roll his eyes a little, seeing through her game and showing dismay at her lack of honesty.
"Well I understand now, I hope things go well for you, have a good night," He turned to walk away causing Rebecca to panic.
