The light flicked on and Alicia shoved her head under the pillow. She'd been awake for a while, but didn't want to do anything other than wallow. Her whole body hurt, but her head most of all. "Go away," she grumbled.
"Alicia, you have to get up now honey." It was her mother's voice, and a second later the pillow was yanked away. Penny's cold hand touched her daughter's cheek. Through bleary eyes, Alicia could see the worry on her mother's face. "You're warm, but that's probably the hangover. Have you had water?"
"Mom? What's wrong?" Alicia said. "Why're you down here?"
"Something's happening, sweetie. Don't worry everyone is...safe, I think. No mortal peril, anyway," she tried to inject a small laugh, but it fell flat. "Get up. Get dressed. You don't have to go anywhere yet, but we need to be ready. Your father is on his way to get some more information."
Alicia grabbed her mother's wrist. "You're scaring me. Is dad ok? Luke? Did they drink too much?"
Penny offered an unconvincing smile, "They're fine. It's nothing like that. Like I said, no one is in imminent danger. There's a virus, but its not deadly. We think Kat has it. We have to make sure the rest of us aren't sick, too. Now, I'll explain more later, but right now you have to get yourself together. Your father might get back and say we have to leave. If so, we'll need to go quick."
Becca appeared in the doorway, "She alright?" Penny nodded. "Good, good. Purity is confused, but doesn't seem to have a fever. Joy isn't here, like Kat said. Which means..."
"Shit," Penny said. "Alicia, do what I tell you. Becca and I need to go check on the others, but you are not to leave this cabin. When we're gone, you will lock the door behind us. If Joy comes around, do not let her in. Same for your brother,
especially
your brother. For that matter, don't let anyone in other than your aunt or me. Get up, get dressed, take some ibuprofen, and drink water until we come back. We'll explain everything as soon as your dad gets some better information on what we're dealing with. Understand?"
Alicia nodded, her heart thumping in her chest. The idea of a virus frightened her. She thought of sitting beside Kat on the whole drive up. She thought of when they were all sitting around drinking the previous night. How many times had she bumped into the other girl? Did she drink from the same cup once or twice? She couldn't remember. Whole hours blurred together in her memory. She didn't have any recollection of Kat coughing or sneezing or even acting strange. The only thing notable about Kat had been the confession about kissing Joy. Could that have something to do with it? Some kind of brain alteration due to the virus?
Her mother paused and gave Alicia a hug. Becca waved sympathetically from the door. "Come on, you'll need to lock the door."
Alicia followed, numbly. Purity met them in the hallway, holding Bertie under one arm. The chicken cocked its head from side to side, looking skeptically at the other humans walking around. Purity tugged at Alicia's sleeve, "Do you know what's going on?"
She shook her head. They followed their parents to the back door. Penny paused again to hug her daughter and Purity both. "Get it together, Pen," Becca said. "No one's dying."
"If what we think --" Penny stopped. She cleared her throat. "Stay inside. If either of you gets a fever or experiences anything strange, separate yourselves. Oh, and don't drink any milk."
With that, the two older women left. Alicia closed the door behind them, locking it as instructed. She watched them have a whispered, but animated discussion at the foot of the cabin steps before they walked away toward the other cabin. Alicia turned to her cousin, "Did your mom explain anything?"
Purity shrugged, "She said there's a virus turning people into sex freaks." Bertie clucked. "Why? What did yours say?"

Kat sat in the third bedroom of the main cabin. Penny and Becca had brought her in from wandering around half naked. They had wrapped her in a blanket long enough to get her inside. The whole experience seemed fuzzy to Kat. Earlier in her life, she went through some problems with depression, entering a numb state for days at a time. Whenever those times passed, she would look back at the lapsed time with barely any memory of it, only a dark fuzzy spot of actions in the otherwise normal narrative of her life. The hour or so after her time with Joy was similar, but instead of it being a dark spot, it was a warm and fuzzy memory. Like a sleepy half-dream on a Christmas morning. If Kat focused, she could remember the sun on her naked breasts, the tingling feeling of the breeze on her skin, and the warmth of being loved and giving love flowing throughout her thoughts.
At the moment, those feelings had vanished. Kat was back to her old self, except for the no longer deniable changes to her body. They'd given her one of Becca's larger shirts to put on, but she hadn't bothered yet. Kat kept looking at herself in the mirror, wondering how she'd gotten this far without screaming for help. Her breasts sat up high and round, hanging off her chest like overfilled water balloons. Her skin freckled from the sun, leaving small spots across the top of her otherwise tanned skin. Before, her nipples had been small and only hard in the coldest of environments. Now, the tissue around her nipples was puffy and sensitive while the nipples themselves stuck out, hard and dark in color. Looking at them made her want to pull on them or roll them between her fingers, the idea filling her head with a small taste of that warm memory of what it had been like in the sun with Joy's lips around them.
Her cheeks blushed, and she went to cover herself with the shirt.
What have I done? I'm infected with something, and I ignored it. Maybe I infected Luke, probably Joy. Who else? Will this happen to Joy, too? And that's only us. If this is worldwide, god, the cities must be chaos. It didn't have to be Joy. It could have been anyone. Alicia or Anthony or...Miles.
She shook her head, yanking the shirt down over her naked body. The material chafed against her skin, but she forced herself to ignore it. Hopping to her feet, she went to the adjoining bathroom and splashed some cold water on her face. The idea sat in the middle of her warm memory, making her uncomfortable whenever she allowed herself to slip back toward that way of thinking. She really would have fucked anyone.
She could see it now with some clarity. Ever since her quick fuck in the woods with Luke, the pressure had been building up again. And then it built up literally in her tits as the milk production began. She'd been a walking time bomb. Joy was simply the unlucky girl to be caught in the blast radius. Looking at herself in the bathroom mirror, Kat thought about how easy it would be to blame tiny particles in her bloodstream for her actions. Naturally, they were somewhat responsible, but it had still been her. Kat had wanted it, and so had Joy. She couldn't know what the other woman experienced, but at least a few times Kat had sensed something wrong in her body and chose to ignore it. The relief had been too important and felt too good.
