The morning after the party, I woke up, forgetting for a moment where I was. I looked around for a bit and felt the duvet cover everything except my butt. And that was when I was reminded that the door was open. God, I hoped we weren't being too loud. I mean, we had guests. When I got going I just couldn't help it...
Who am I kidding, I totally hoped they heard us. Still, being sobered up both from alcohol and depravity, I knew it was just rude as a host to force people to hear me moan throughout the night.
Looking at my right I saw Josh sleeping soundly, but no Amanda. I saw her clothes though, making me wonder if she paraded around the house all naked. I wouldn't mind, as we were all adults, but ya know, it's daytime now. We wear clothes, or else what is separating us from the animals, eh?
With a grunt and humph, I shoved myself out of the bed and made my way downstairs. Quickly looking into our own bedroom, I saw that Rowan had also woken up, as she was nowhere to be seen.
Downstairs, I was met with the oddest sight. By the kitchen island, Rowan sat in her baggy skirt and gray wool sweater from yesterday dicking around on her phone, and by the stove stood Amanda. But she didn't just stand there, stirring bacon or whatever, from where I stood I could tell she only wore a black thong and an apron. And nothing else.
"Good mornin'," she said in an awfully cheerful way as she looked over at me.
"Moring'," I said, also giving the wiccan a nod.
"I'm fucking trashed," Rowan complained, throwing her phone away, rubbing her head.
"I'm surprised you drank at all," I said, knowing nothing about people who delved into all that witch stuff.
"I'm a witch, not a hippie. I can have fun," Rowan replied, as I took a seat next to her.
"Hippies can have fun," Linda said, emerging from the stairs. "Jen had a small hippie phase and, yeah, she had fun alright."
"Fair enough," Rowan said, probably not in shape for debate.
"Slept well? I'm sorry if we were noisy," I asked Linda, blushing a bit. Her and Luna's room was right next to ours. To Amanda's, I mean.
Linda just shrugged, rubbing her eyes. "Is there coffee?" she asked. Quickly, I went over to the fancy coffee machine we had got and started preparing a latte for our guests. Rowan already had one, and Amanda didn't drink coffee. But before I could give Linda her mug, she got a phone call and disappeared out onto our pool deck instead.
In the meantime, my eyes drifted towards Amanda's ass right there on display. She really was comfortable with herself, with her plump but fit cheeks on display for everyone to see. I couldn't parade around like that, not with so many people around at least. But her ass was pretty much the definition of perfection. Just girthy enough, perky, and in shape, framed by the black cloth of her underwear. Maybe I'm the bi one? Must be cold though, walking around like that this time of year.
"Good morning, folks!" Josh said cheerfully, never really ever being a grumpy guy in the morning. If he was hung over, he did not give a sign of it.
The others muttered their good mornings, as Josh rounded the corner before stopping dead in his tracks as he saw Amanda. I had to stifle a chuckle. I knew he had never walked into the kitchen and got a view like that before. Amanda shot us both a knowing smirk, more or less saying
'Oh yeah, soak that ass in, right in front of your own wife'
. Or perhaps it was wishful thinking on my end.
"You like my ass that much? It's honestly nothing you haven't seen before," Amanda said, as Josh shook his head to regain his composure. Rowan let out a snort.
"Oh no, it's not that," Josh said, meeting Amanda's blue eyes. "I'm surprised to see you cook."
"Pff. I'm just showing you my wifey potential," Amanda teased, looking over at me challengingly, creating a small ember in my chest. I knew she was teasing, but the implication, and in front of someone we barely knew even, that she would nab Josh and wife up for him was strangely arousing to me. Was this how Josh felt when I was with Toby?
"Making coffee?" Josh asked me. I still had Linda's undelivered mug sitting in the machine. I looked out into the pool area, as it was about to rain by the seams of it. She looked kinda distressed there she stood, no longer on the phone. Josh looked out as well. "I'll make my own, don't worry about it," Josh said.
I took the mug from the machine and went over to the pool door. I really wished I had a jacket nearby, but oh well. Sliding the door open, I went out to bring her her latte, and to see if everything was okay. All teasing from yesterday to this morning aside, the phone call seemed to have brought our new friend down. Even if I wore little more than pajama pants and a T-shirt.
"You okay?" I asked, shivering slightly as I brought the mug over to her by the deck. I wanted Josh to tear the thing down, but for now, the roof was much needed. If only we had that hot tub or something, but the tub was way over by the other side of the pool, near the poolhouse in our little nook over there.
"Yeah... I just learned my roommate decided that she's moving out. Our landlord increased the rent, so now she made the final decision, essentially leaving me with the whole rent. Which I can't afford, so I might have to find a new place too," Linda explained, accepting the mug of steaming warm latte, leaning on the rail. "And with the winter coming, the bills..."
"Oh," I said.
Josh and I had grown up pretty poor compared to now, so we knew all too well what it was like living in conditions where you had to make tough decisions. It was mostly bestowed upon our parents, but we both saw it. My poor mom once had to pawn a necklace she had got from gran when Dad went to jail. She was out of it for days from the guilt and the sorrow it brought her. Josh got his money shortly after and got it back though.
"You could always stay here?" I asked. And no, it wasn't due to how Josh and I had a 'tenant-fantasy' or whatever. The girl had it rough already, and now it was about to get a whole lot rougher. If we could help out then we would. "Josh won't mind at all."
"I... ugh, I'll think about it," Linda said. "I don't know if I can afford that either, to be honest. I live in a pretty shitty place already."
"Come, let's head inside," I suggested. Josh always had good solutions.
"Erh... I'd rather not," Linda said.
"Why is that?" I asked, a bit surprised.
"Erh... Amanda kinda gossips... and she used to be my high school bully along with Zach, so my life situation isn't something I want to share with either of them," Linda explained, not looking at me. She knew Amanda was a friend of mine, so it was commendable that she was able to speak against her still.
