Pearl pushed her cart absentmindedly through the store, gazing in awe at some of the more exotic wares available for purchase in Furcadia. It was so very tempting to stock up all at once, but she reminded herself that she still had several more weeks to visit and there would always be more time for that later. She settled on what she really needed or was most interested in before finally making her way to the checkout station. The albino squeezed past a few curious beastkin residents and paid for her goods, but before she could make too far outside of the store, she suddenly came to a stop as wave of dizziness came over her. "Ah..." She brought a hand up to her head, as her bag slipped free from the other to spill out across the group. "N-Not now..." Pearl murmured, her wooziness growing more pronounces as the world around her started to spin. Those bright pink eyes fluttered to a close as she swayed to one side, then the other before toppling over with a quiet cry of "Help...".
Pearl would have no idea where she would ultimately end up, remaining unconscious throughout the time it took EMS to deliver her to the hospital. When she finally woke up, the white haired girl would find herself safe and sound in a warm, comfortable hospital bed. It was dark and the curtains around her bed were drawn closed, perhaps allowing her a measure of privacy. Where was she? What time was it? How long had she been out? Her mind was still feeling a bit muddled, but she couldn't help but feel concerned about her health even though this wasn't the first time she had fainted like this. What could have triggered her condition this time? "H-Hello?" She called out into the darkness uncertainly, wondering if anyone might be nearby who could answer her questions. She thought she heard the sound of... something. A muffled groan perhaps? The creak of a bed. An intermittent slapping sound? Perhaps she was just imagining it...
Pearl winced as she started to sit up, her body growing uncomfortable after laying still for so long. She was relieved not to find any needles sticking out of her arm, but there were several sensors attached to her chest and forehead instead, perhaps in an effort to monitor her vitals. The human felt an urge to pull them off, but she suppressed that feeling in case it got her into trouble. She seemed to be in a medical facility of some kind, if her surroundings were any indication. The last thing she remembered was shopping... had she fainted? She couldn't remember the last time that had happened and couldn't think of a reason for it to happen again after so long, but perhaps the doctor might be able to explain.
The curtains slowly slid from one side to the other, opening her vision to the rest of the room. Glass walls surrounded her, allowing visibility into the hallway. Immediately before her, a large, voluptuous squirrel lady stood before her, adorned in scrubs. Bangs covered her eyes, yet she moved in a way that indicated her vision was not substantially impaired. A sweet smile spread across her lips. "Oh! You're finally awake! You've been out for 8 hours!" She said happily, walking to her bedside now and leaning in. With large yet delicate hands she pulled free the sensors and turned off a few of the monitoring devices. "How are you feeling sweetie..?" She asked as she began to take notes. Pearl, upon waking up, would feel understandably hungry. But her hunger would be difficult to satiate, an odd craving would loom in the back of her mind that she couldn't explain. But something about it was salty.
"R-Really? Ugh... I feel... a little light headed. And really hungry." That feeling surprised her at first, but the more she thought about it, the more it made sense. 8 hours was a long time to go without a meal, and that was under the best of circumstances. The craving for something salty was a bit odd, usually it was sweet foods that she desired, especially after an episode like this. She gazed at the squirrel with with growing curiosity as she realized the doctor or nurse, whichever she was, was a beastkin. Of course she was! This was Furcadia, after all. She hoped that they knew how to take care of humans... not that she doubted her medical credentials but she never expected to visit a hospital while on vacation.
The large squirrel maintained her smile while she wrote. She then sat the clipboard onto a nearby table. She then placed a rather large, overly soft, and warm hand onto Pearls and spoke kindly, "I'll get you something to eat." She said with a nod before wheeling around. In doing so, her large lush tail would likely be an apt distraction from a separate protrusion that showed on the front. She disappeared from view for roughly 5 minutes, giving Pearl ample time to take in her surroundings before returning with a cup of yogurt. She handed sat it on a tray attached to the side of her bed along with a spoon. "Here you go sweetie." She said softly. If Pearl chose to indulge, she would find this particularly creamy substance to adequately match her strange cravings.
While the towering squirrel was out of the room, Pearl cast her gaze once more around the room, looking at whatever might be on the wall and trying her best to pass the time even as her tummy continued to complain. Not seeing any reason not to satisfy her hunger, the young human would indeed take the offered cup and dig in happily. She couldn't quite place the flavor, but was surprised by how salty it was. Normally she wouldn't enjoy 'sea salt' flavor yogurt, or whatever it was, but in this instance it seemed to be exactly what her body was seeking and she felt immense sense of satisfaction. "Ah... thank you. This is... interesting. What flavor is it?" She asked even as she brought another generous spoonful to her lips.
The squirrel laughed aloud and with the sweetest smile and most innocent tone she replied, "We call it baby gravy." She said with a laugh. She leaned in closely once again, massive breasts resting onto the smaller human now as she looked her over. "Hmmm.. You will need to stay over night. Can I get you anything else? I can get you more to eat." She asked as she slowly leaned back and began messing with the devices in the room.
That seemed like an odd name for a flavor of yogurt, but she didn't press the issue. "Overnight? "Y... Yes. I suppose that makes sense. Need to make sure I'm fully recovered before I leave..." Pearl gazed up at the towering squirrel, more than a little in awe the size of her breasts. Why did it seem like so many beastkin were so... buxom? "I suppose I can rest here just as easily as at my hotel... Erm... No I think I'm fine for now. Maybe just some water?" Pearl could still tasty the salty after taste of the yogurt even after she finished the container she had been provided. The idea of lingering here overnight wasn't the most appealing, she imagined it would be quite boring... but maybe if she just slept through it all?
With a gentle nod. "I will fetch you just one more anyways. Just in case." She was gone once again. The craving for the substance would not subside, despite her hunger being satiated. The large beastkin once again returned with another, but this one was different. It was very runny this time. "Sorry, looks like I'm a little low, eheh.. really had to squeeze that bit out." She said as she sat the cup onto the table beside Pearl. A glass of water was also provided. Though, the water was not completely clear. It was almost, murky. A white, viscous substance could be seen swirling within before settling in place. It seemed very familiar, resembling the yogurt. "I'm glad to hear you are not opposed." She replied with a smile before sitting down beside her bed. "So what brings you to Furcadia? How long have you been here..?"
