He found himself there again. Past midnight, surrounded in darkness, with his trousers around his ankles. The flickering light of his laptop echoed his beating heart as he gazed lustfully at the screen. Alastair did that a lot. He wasn't dispirited or in need of companionship, and probably could've stopped if he wanted to. He just didn't want to. He liked it. He loved it. He fucking loved it!
After scrolling like a zombie for approximately ten minutes, deciding on a category, scene or model, Alastair sank into his chair, spread his arms and took a deep breath. Glancing over his left shoulder, examining the glass of whiskey in his left hand, he took another, deeper, breath. The ice clinked against the glass as he rotated it, appreciating the pristine single malt. Eyes closed this time, Alastair inhaled once more but this time held it... and held it... his heart pounded! His body was desperate for relief!
"Ooooh!" exhaling. Chuckling to himself he took a sip of his whiskey, taking in all the notes as the rim flirted with his nostrils.
"Okay." Alastair knew what would come next. Leaning forward, gently lowering his crystal glass onto a cork coaster, his body reverted into his chair once more. His right hand appeared directly in front of his face. He stared at it momentarily before spitting aggressively.
"Oh yeah!"
SEVEN HOURS EARLIER
"Okay, it's not just me, is it? This looked way cuter on the model!" Eve was visibly irritated.
"Shut up, you look stunning!" Fergus replied without missing a beat. After 4 years together, he knew it was essential to put out potential fires before the evening got burnt down, so to speak.
Eve and Fergus were both born into wealthy families. They always knew of one another but only started dating at the age of sixteen.
Fergus sprayed what seemed to be the remainder of the hairspray before tweaking a few loose strands in his quiff. As he contorted his face, plucking some runaway eyebrow hairs, Eve entered his bedroom.
"Wow, babe! Don't light a candle in here!" she teased.
"Does this look like the sort of bedroom that would have candles, babe?"
Eve looked around. It was cluttered. Dishes, underwear, beer bottles, and even some utility bills lying around. You name it, it was in Fergus' bedroom. It was Eve's least favorite quality but she forgave him. In return, she had a boyfriend who put her needs first, made her laugh and protected her against the world. But, she loved to tease him.
"I don't know, Princess, you do spend an awfully long time looking in the mirror..." She let her words hang in the air, grinning towards Furgus' reflection. His eyes darted towards Eve's, noticing her cheeky expression.
"You don't want to be seen with any regular Joe, do you?" Fergus was confident in his appearance, but that was largely because Eve was his girlfriend.
"Oh, Fergie-baby, I can do better than Joe," Eve replied, peeling her day dress off and letting it fall to the floor. Fergus whipped his head to catch Eve's natural beauty, just catching a glimpse of her curved ass as she exited the room. Fergus chuckled to himself, knowing he was the luckiest man alive.
ONE HOUR LATER
Fergus was in the kitchen chopping limes for his salsa dip. He was strangely proud of the spread he presented for his house parties. Maybe it was because his family always had chefs cooking their food and servants to present it. This was a little piece of Fergus that he liked showing off. However, this could also go some way to explain the chaos he always left in his path.
"Fergie, please," Eve asked gently, referring to the mess in the kitchen.
"Yeah, yeah, sorry babe. I'll take care of it." Fergus knew he was flawed but university and living unaided were new to him. He propped the bin open and guided the peels and waste with his palm. Eve hugged him from behind and sneakily stole a lime wedge. She kissed Fergus on the cheek before grabbing a Corona from the fridge.
"Thanks, babe!" Eve taunted as she opened the bottle and placed the wedge inside.
"You girls and your limes in beer."
As if by magic, the front door swung open. In came 5 of Eve's girlfriends and the world became inaudible but for girly chatter. Fergus put his head down and continued to clean up after himself.
ONE HOUR LATER
"The Uber's here!!" one of Eve's girlfriends yelled. Something about announcing the arrival of transport at student accommodations sent everyone into a frenzy. Fergus watched on as the herd cheered their exit, Prosecco in hand. Fergus gingerly followed and ensured the door was locked behind him. He always had a good mind to drink far less at pre-drinks when he was the only guy. Fergus gestured to the driver, apologetically with a smile before the girls got there. They arrived with a cheer, Fergus laughed, knowing it could be a long night.
"Just here is great, thanks." Fergus shook the driver's hand before exiting and leaping around to open the door for Eve. Eve stepped out with supreme elegance, raising her eyebrows seductively. He caught a whiff of her expensive perfume as she walked by and onto the sidewalk. Fergus looked into the car, smiled at the girls and comedically motioned for them to take their leave. One by one they all exited the car with a giggle.
"Fergie-Baby, my gentleman!" Eve nudged her boyfriend, wrapping her arms around his.
ONE HOUR LATER
Hey buddy, it's dead at work, the boss reckons I can clock out early. Did you say you lot were out tonight?
Eve caught Fergus on his phone. It wasn't hard to miss, they were all on the dance floor after all.
"Watcha looking at?" Eve's curiosity got the better of her.
"Looks like Alistair might be able to make it." Eve gestured to her ear and shook her head.
