Dannie woke first, the girls were still asleep, and Katie was snoring softly. He had to use the bathroom, so he made his way out of the office. After reaching the bottom of the stairs, he thought he would relieve himself outside. He walked straight to the rear of the store and went out the back doors. After finishing, he slowly returned; however, as he reached the back entrance, his ears noticed faint screaming. He opened the first door slowly and made his way into the storage room. He hid behind the second door that opened into the warehouse.
It had a glass window; he used it to peer in. It was then that he saw Katie and Sarah both on the floor at the base of the office stairs, and standing in front of them were four men. Katie and Sarah were both crying and screaming at the intruders. Katie held her knife out and yelled, "You killed my father, you piece of shit!" I will kill you; I swear to god I will kill you!" The men all had weapons, tattered clothes, and sinister grins. The men laughed at Katie and Sarah as they yelled and lashed out. They had them cornered, and the girls had no chance. The leader of the group began to say, "You stupid bitches think I'm scared. HAHAHA. I'm glad we decided to search for you. You have no idea how hard it is to find fresh and pretty whores. You girls are going to trade for a premium price. Damn, I almost feel sorry for you cunts. You are going to suck the filthiest dicks and swallow the nastiest cum. In a week your assholes will be so beat up you won't even be able to fart."
As he finished speaking, he motioned for his other men to grab them. Katie and Sarah both resisted, but Sarah would yelp "NYAA" whenever she moved her sprained right foot. Katie shouted at the leader, "Okay, okay, just let me carry her and we will come with you." Dannie thought as he watched Katie grab Sarah. Should he try and help, or just sneak out the back and hide? The men did not have guns, but a knife was just as deadly in a fight. Dannie knew one mistake here and he would die. Could he live with himself if he did nothing? How the hell was he going to take on four men? All he had was a knife. He paced back and forth in the storage room when he saw some paint thinner on the top shelf. There were at least twenty cans of it. Dannie had a stupid idea, and he hoped it would work.
When Dannie opened the door into the warehouse, the four men looked at him immediately. Katie was supporting Sarah, so they could walk together. She looked at Dannie with desperation and spoke with broken words, "Heeelp u----s plea----se." The leader looked at Katie and then at Dannie. "I guess that makes you the boyfriend? Her knight in shining armor. HAHAHA! You know how many punks I have killed trying to save their whores. They always think love will save the day. WELL, IT DOSENT!" Dannie replied to him, "I just met them yesterday; I came here for supplies; I have no issues with you. Take them; I won't stop you."
The leader started to laugh, "Wow, so you are not going to try and help. That is really messed up. WHAT A PUSSY! I hate pussies that are not on women. Mike, Dan, do me a favor and kill him, unless you want to play with him." Dannie started to speak with some concern: "Come on, man, just let me go. I have not done shit to you." As Dannie finished speaking, Mike and Dan started running toward him. Dannie closed the door and ran out of the storage room. The warehouse door flew open, and Mike and Dan ran inside with murderous smiles on their faces. They saw all the paint thinner cans too late. Dannie stood outside the storage room with a lit flare. He looked at Mike and Dan standing in flammable liquid and said, "I guess you die first."
He threw the flare, and within a second the entire storage room turned into an inferno. He grabbed an axe he got from the storage room and ran to the front of the store. As he ran, he could hear the two men screaming. Death by fire, what a way to go, he thought to himself. When he got to the front, the two remaining men were yelling at each other and in disarray. Katie, to her credit, took the opportunity with all the confusion and grabbed her knife and stabbed one of the men in the leg. Dannie could hear him screaming about his wound. Dannie yelled out, "Does he have a gun?" Katie and Sarah called out almost immediately, "NOOOOO."
Dannie ran to the office through an isle; when he was near, he saw Katie next to Sarah, knife in hand, keeping the leader back. The other man was lying on the floor, blood pouring out of his wound. Katie got an artery; he was a dead man. As Dannie approached, the leader of the group took out a knife and walked toward him. The leader was pissed as he spoke to Dannie, "You killed my men, you piece of shit. I am going to enjoy killing you, and then I am going to butt fuck your girlfriend." Dannie's heart was racing; he had never been in a fight to the death before. The leader of the group came up to him quick; Dannie held his distance but had the axe ready to swing. The leader started to circle him, and Dannie turned with his enemy.
The man spoke to Dannie, "Are you afraid or excited? Are you going to die, or am I?" As he finished, the man smiled and lunged. Dannie stayed back, out of reach of the knife. Dannie's father was military and said in a knife fight to keep your distance, don't let them grab you, and strike when they are over extended. The man tried to get close to Dannie, but Dannie always kept his distance. The leader lunged again at Dannie, but this time Dannie swung the axe at the man's hand. It made contact, and the man yelled in pain as he withdrew his hand and dropped the knife. As the man nursed his hand, he spoke, "That was a lucky hit, shithead. Don't think it means your winning."
At that moment, the leader ran to Dannie like a madman and managed to tackle him with his momentum. Dannie released the axe. He quickly grabbed the man's only good hand and placed his other hand on the man's throat. The man was crazy; his eyes had no fear, just rage. The leader opened his mouth; he was going to try and bite his throat. Even though Dannie was choking him, the leader used his weight to push himself down. Not good, Dannie thought--what the fuck was he going to do? Every second, the leader slowly came closer. Suddenly Katie appeared and sat on the man's legs; she had her knife in her hands. Katie yelled, "This is for my father, you fucking piece of shit!" Katie started stabbing the man in the back repeatedly. With every stab, the man gurgled out a sound of pain. Katie must have stabbed him dozens of times before his eyes finally went dead. Dannie released his hand from his throat and screamed, "Katie, Katie, he is dead. Katie, stop, he is dead!"
Katie finally stopped stabbing; her breathing was heavy. She was crying profusely. She looked at Dannie in the eyes and started to calm down. Dannie spoke, "It's okay now, Katie; you did it. Can you help me to push him off?" Katie nodded as she lifted herself off the dead man. Katie assisted Dannie as he pushed the body away. Dannie stood up and could still feel his heart pounding. A mix of the adrenaline and fear, but it slowly started to fade. That was the closest Dannie had been to dying from the start. It did not feel good, but Dannie was glad to be alive. Katie suddenly hugged him tightly and said, "You could have run away, but you stayed. I don't know if I can ever thank you enough. You saved us both from those vile men."
Katie then looked at Dannie, gave him a deep kiss, and laid her head on his shoulder. Dannie enjoyed Katie's embrace for a moment. Sarah suddenly called out, "Katie, the other one is starting to turn." Dannie quickly walked to Sarah along with Katie. When he got close, he noticed the man was still alive, but on the verge of death. The man started to speak his final words, "two miles. Gas station. Girl in cage. Help her. I did good. I go to heaven." The man finally died, and Dannie stabbed him in the head. He noticed the man holding something in his hand. After opening the man's fist, Dannie found a key and took it. He stood and looked at the fire from the storage room spreading. The warehouse was probably going to go up in flames; they had to leave fast. Dannie looked at the girls and told them, "We are leaving now, before this place blows." Dannie went to the cart and started to wheel it out of the store. Behind him, Katie supported Sarah as they followed him outside. Dannie thought for a moment about all that wood that was going to burn. The winter was already off to a bad start.
