I need to mention that the story is true, only depicting my personal experience(s). All the names and/or places may have nothing to do with the reality...
*****
I'm in the neighborhood of the grand cinema, hoping that I'll find someone to sell me an extra ticket.
I'm simply asking the people going towards the entrance if they have an extra ticket.
It seems that today I'm not so lucky, since, after almost twenty minutes, I still have to wait and ask...
So, nobody has changed their schedule in the last moment...
In about ten minutes, the film will start rolling.
I'm seriously considering to go towards the entrance and bribe some personnel over there to let me in.
It's not the first time when I do it.
But, all of a sudden, a young and very good looking lady, approaches me, telling me that, if in five minutes, her date won't show up, she will have an extra ticket for me.
What can I say?
"Thank you very much! Still, I hope that your date will come"...
She smiles, saying "Thanks"...
Now, we are expecting together the knight in his shining armor...
The girl is repeatedly checking her wrist watch, with an increasing nervousness...
Honestly, looking at her, I'm just wondering who the heck is the jerk who lets his girl wait for him, especially when the girl looks like this one...
She's rather tall for a woman, with dark hair, almost black eyes, but with a contrasting white skin.
The blouse she's wearing lets me guess that she's got nice boobs, well proportioned to her body, nice legs, accentuated by the high heeled sandals, and an ass that needs a hand to caress it...
The five minutes are long gone by now.
In fact, in two minutes the film should start rolling, but I simply cannot dare tell the girl anything.
I wait.
All of a sudden, she hands me both tickets, and turns to leave.
I realize that she feels like crying, and her mood to watch the movie is ruined...
Still, I'm a man, ain't I?
"Hey, miss, first, I need to pay you for at least one ticket, and, second, please do me the favor to come and watch this movie together with me!"
She waves her hand, tending to leave...
Yeah, right! But I'm still there!
In two steps I reach her arm, and gently, but firmly, make her turn around, towards the entrance of the cinema.
I need to say something:
"Look, I might not be as good looking and intelligent and lovely as your knight in the shining armor, but, still, many ladies consider me a good catch!
So, don't waste your chance!..."
I don't know how this sounds in English, but, here, the way I've said it, obviously joking, has made the girl burst into laughter.
Good! That's exactly what I've been expecting!
We hurry towards the entrance, where, already, the gates are locked, but, when seeing me, a nice lady approaches and lets us in.
She knows me since I was only a kid - I live in the neighborhood...
I thank her very much, and then we rush towards our places.
This cinema is huge, so that the chairs are categorized in an alphanumeric style.
I happen to know all the codes, so that we go towards our places with speed and certainty...
Still, like always, there are lots of empty places, so that I look towards the "C" area and find, easily, two chairs with a better view.
I take the girl by her hand and "drag" her with me, towards those places.
I don't know if she's bewildered, or not, since, in the darkness of the cinema and my rush, I don't have time to look or to care...
Still, there is no problem, since on the screen is rolling an usual informative journal, exposing the last activities of our most beloved president, Nicolae Ceausescu and his beloved wife.
As usual, the journal lasts for about ten minutes, time in which I take advantage and introduce myself to the lady.
I find out that she is Celine, she's a student at the medicine faculty, and her date that failed to appear is also a student, but at the polytechnic university...
Gosh! I surely need to find a way to avoid talking about the guy...
Luckily, the journal ends, so that we all become very silent, expecting for the movie to begin.
It's a "neorealistic" movie, Italian, with lots of criminals, very well organized, policemen who are almost helpless, and an inspector who, in spite of all and everything, fights the criminal organization, causing them lots of losses, until, at the end, he sees how his daughter is kidnapped and killed...
Honestly, I don't really remember all the action of that movie...
The action is kind of frightening, making us all be happy that we live in a communist country, where such things simply cannot happen...
At almost nine o'clock in the evening, we are already out of the cinema, so that I take the liberty to invite Celine at the nearby cafeteria, where they do have an exquisite chocolate ice cream...
Celine is, somewhat, undecided, so that I insist:
"You simply cannot refuse me. I have to pay for my ticket, one way or another!"...
She smiles, takes me by my arm, and we go towards the cafeteria...
On our way to the cafeteria, I show Celine where I live, making her understand how come that I know so much about this cinema.
The ice cream, as usual, is exquisite.
We jump from one subject to another, but, finally, the subject about the knight in the shining armor cannot be avoided...
He's a friend of her roommate's boyfriend, and, generally, he seemed to be a serious guy...
It's my turn to be amazed, since, honestly, I wouldn't have guessed that she wasn't from Bucharest.
It's her fourth year here, and... yes, of course she's had a boyfriend, but older than her, who has graduated the faculty and had to leave, some place, more than four hundred kilometers away...
And... no, he hasn't promised her anything.
It's been nice, but the past is just the past...
She has no boyfriend for the moment, so that she has hoped that this evening she would start bonding somehow with this student at poly.
I feel the need to tell her that I also don't have a permanent girl, which doesn't mean that I don't have lots of social relationships, including very nice ladies...
As usual, I'm open.
This is who I am! Take it, or leave it!
About music, she seems to be in love with Queen - who isn't?
She also appreciates a lot Pink Floyd, Vangelis, Emerson Lake & Palmer, and so on...
I tell her about my music collection, about my hi-fi stereo system, about my open view about classical music, and all that kind of stuff...
Suddenly, we realize that we are the last clients of the cafeteria, so that we leave.
Approaching the bus station, she thanks me for the nice evening, I also thank her for the nice evening, then take the liberty to ask her if she would mind if I would accompany her on her way to her dorm.
The dorm isn't so far away for two young people to walk to, so, since the bus seems to fail to appear, I suggest her we take a walk.
She agrees.
Reaching her place, I ask her if she would like to see me again.
She confirms, but, since neither of us have anything to write, I follow her towards her room.
She knocks at the door, politely, then tries to enter, but... the door is locked!
She looks in her purse for her key, tries to insert it into the locker, but fails.
It's clear that her roommate has locked the door from the inside, with her own key...
Finally, we hear the locking system and a blond face, with ruffled hair, appears, looking desperate towards us.
Seeing me makes her even more desperate.
She quickly explains to Celine that she is not alone, but with her boyfriend, and that they are not... decently enough dressed, to let us in.
Actually, she's amazed, since, normally, Celine should have been with the knight in the shining armor...
Celine gets somewhat angry, but I grab her by her arm, and tell her roommate to keep on doing what she's been doing, since Celine will be away all night long...
Celine is absolutely bewildered:
"And... who are you to say this?!?"
I hush her, taking her away from the door, as far as possible.
"Now, Celine, isn't it enough that that jerk of a guy has ruined your evening?!?
Why let him ruin these guys evening too?"...
She's still in a shock:
"Yes, all right, but... where shall I go now?!?"
I smile, look directly in her eyes, and tell her:
"You, don't go anywhere!
We go, together, have another walk if you want, then we listen to some exquisite music, have some whiskey, and get to know each other better.
And, when I say this, I don't involve any sexual implications!"...
She's still appalled:
"I've only met you a few hours ago, and, now, you ask me to come to your place!"...
It's time for me to break the ice:
