The sky was cloudy and the air was cool, but that's okay. That's my favorite type of weather. Clouds were looming, and it looked like it might rain later in the day. I didn't mind; I love stuff like that. I laughed quietly as I noticed my dog trying to chase a butterfly. I tugged on the leash and smiled up at the darkening sky.
I abruptly stopped and moved my gaze down as I heard someone quickly approaching. A short, stubby redhead with a scowl on her ugly face charged at me, swinging her arms wildly. I dropped the leash and fought back as my dog barked loudly and jumped at my leg.
A tall middle-aged man with dark hair approached us and tried to push us apart. He managed to grab her arms and pull her against him.
"What the fuck are you doing?" I exclaimed.
"You bitch," she spit at me in an annoying nasal voice, "You're sleeping with my man!"
I rolled my eyes and said shortly, "I haven't slept with anyone in quite a while."
At this, she began squirming and kicking. "You're a liar!" she screamed.
Shaking my head, I pulled my cell phone out of my pocket and called the police.
After I hung up, I turned to the man and said "Thanks, could you just hold her until the police get here? I don't feel like messing my hair up anymore."
He chuckled and nodded.
The police arrived and asked if I wanted to press charges. I, of course, said yes. What nerve did she have attacking me while I was trying to enjoy my afternoon off? Dumb bitch.
An older cop, Officer Hawkins, discussed the details with me. He told me that the man who restrained her had seen the whole thing and agreed to be a witness. He then told me that I had to go down to the station to file a report.
I sighed and thought, "Great, more time taken out of my day by some psycho that I don't even know."
After picking up my dog, I followed Officer Hawkins to his car where he opened the door for me. I thanked him and climbed in. We arrived and went through the whole annoying ordeal, and then he told me I would need to talk to someone at the District Attorney's office the next day. He gave me the address and we shook hands. Finally, 2 hours after my encounter with the annoying redhead, I was able to go home.
Later that night, I was sighing happily in a nice, warm bubble bath as I listened to the rain falling outside. After drying off, I slipped into bed and slept deeply.
