You know when you see those couples where both halves of the whole are otherworldly attractive? This morning I realized that the hottest new power couple lovingly referred to as TomDaya, were mostly definitely one of them!
I had never really taken much notice of either one of them to be honest, they kind of melted seamlessly into the world of celebrities who I could pick out of a crowd, but who did not necessarily cross my mind in my day to day life.
In all actuality, celebrity didn't mean much to me due to my job in publicity. I worked for the Australian branch of a global PR company that often had me spending my days running around with the hottest A lister of that moment as they attended interview after interview and promoted their latest project.
This day started like any other, I was given an in-depth itinerary of the day ahead and headed over to a swanky hotel to meet with the client.
I always found this part the most stressful. I was never nervous about the prospect of spending the day with a "celebrity" but often terrified of having to spend the day with a stranger! Some celebrities were completely lovely, some shy or incredibly professional but some were downright monsters. It was a complete mixed bag, so when it was someone I hadn't come across before it was always a little nerve-wracking.
On this particular morning our debrief was arranged for 6:15am in a beautiful hotel in central Sydney where the star couple were also living during their stay in Australia. We had arranged a separate hotel room for a quick run through of the day, and I worked furiously on my laptop whilst waiting for their arrival.
Tom arrived first, incredibly friendly and surprisingly chirpy for such an early call time. He was apologetic about interrupting my work and offered to run and get me a coffee when he walked in and noticed I was without.
"Gotta keep your energy up!" He remarked.
He was a great conversationalist, the kind who asks you about yourself and genuinely listens for the answer. I breathed a sigh of relief as the idea of a potential day of awkward car silences disappeared from view.
I also hadn't failed to notice how handsome he was. A head of brown waves, a cheeky smile and some reading glasses that I was still inwardly debating if they were prescription of not. He was giving Hugh Grant in any Hugh Grant rom-com ever, and I had definitely noticed.
Zendaya arrived about 10 minutes later. She approached with a calm energy, shy smile and one of the most striking faces I had ever seen up close. I collected my thoughts quickly, and we jumped right in to a run-down of the day ahead.
It was essentially back to back interviews, dotted all over the city, a cleverly orchestrated dance in which I was the director.
For a romantic couple, they were quite reserved with any kind of displays of affection, the only thing giving them away was their true comfortability with each other. Everything felt so natural and at ease, the conversation flowed between the three of us as we walked (I say walked.... Tom and I walked...Zendaya seemed to float) towards the elevator to begin the day.
We piled into a people mover headed towards our first morning TV show, and as I sat facing the couple, I took a moment to admire them both through the security of my darkened sunglasses.
Zendaya was absolutely gorgeous. Her skin was angelically smooth and her face would light up when a smile spread across her beautiful lips. She was shy, yet incredibly witty, and her energy and intoxicating scent seemed to blur my brain. She seemed so innocent, yet strong in a way that intrigued me.
The thing about Tom that caught most of my attention was oddly enough, his hands and forearms. Zendaya and I were both taller than Tom by an inch or two, a spot that could have left him feeling slightly emasculated as we towered over him in heels, yet he confidentially walked between us with his hands clasped together in relaxed ease, causing the muscles in his forearm to tense and exude masculine certainty.
Something told me he was good with his hands, and he as he ran his fingers through his longer locks or played with his rings, I wondered what they would feel like around my neck.
I quickly snapped out of it.
No matter how much the conversation flowed, this was a business setting and I needed to get a grip!
The morning went by in a flurry. From radio to breakfast television, I ushered the relaxed couple in and out of cars and green rooms impressed by their inability to show any signs of wear after answering he same question for the 6th time that morning.
After a quick bit stop to refuel, we headed to a nearby office for a junket. This basically entailed the three of us set up in a single room whilst various interviewees filtered through to ask the same questions for the next however many hours of our lives.
The best part for me was the downtime in the middle.
We had only met this morning, but damn did I feel at home with this gorgeous pair of humans. We were chatting away like old school friends, and I felt completely relaxed.
"So Morgan, tell us more about your personal life, are you married?" Tom asked whilst bringing a fresh cup of coffee to his lips.
"Not even close! A few guys here and there but nothing serious." My eyes glued to his hands wrapped around the white mug.
He seemed intrigued by the notion of "a few" guys, and Zendaya piped up in support.
"It's good to know what's out there, nothing wrong with a bit of experimentation!" She threw a smirk in Tom's direction.
I felt a boldness settle over me.
"I wouldn't call it experimentation.... it's typically very vanilla for the most part unfortunately."
Although we casually laughed it off, this seemed to pique their interest as expected, but we were quickly interrupted by the next interviewee entering the room, not before Tom threw Zendaya a quick wink.
As the day began to wind down, I ushered the stars into the car one final time.
"This has been one of the best press days I've had in a while" Zendaya remarked,
"Is it super lame to say I feel like we all have the best energy with each other?" She added.
"No, I definitely agree! If you guys are ever back in town, and want a friend to hang out with.... I'm you're girl!" I added with a laugh.
Zendaya quickly reached out and grabbed my hand, interlocking our fingers
"Well, what do you know! We are in town right now and we definitely need a friend..." Her voice trailed off and she shot Tom a glance.
He nodded his head slowly in agreement.
If you have every hung out with a group of people where everybody knows a secret except you...this is what that car ride felt like.
As we pulled up outside the hotel, I wasn't sure whether to say goodbye, but Zendaya's hand quickly pulling me along with them answered the question almost immediately.
As soon as we walked through the door into their shared hotel room, the energy between us shifted. Although stone sober, I felt suddenly tipsy, and my pussy seemed to flutter with anticipation.
