The Walls Are Thin, Captain
Begrudgingly, Sarah got her day started without satisfaction, it was going to be one of those days in a long string of shitty days, from a shitty week. On her drive to Casey's apartment Sarah had to remind herself to get back into agent mode.
"God, I'm no better than a horny teenager," Sarah grumbled in her head as she made the last turn onto Chuck's street. Usually that thought made her smile; she would be seeing Chuck soon, but this morning all it did was elicit thoughts of Chuck's hard cock pushing in and out of her sex.
"Stop thinking about your asset's cock, you weak woman!" She screamed at herself in her head; she was a hot mess this morning, her mind clouded by visions of lusty perversion. Finally, the Echo Park apartment complex that housed her partner and her asset came into view; Sarah psyched herself once again and pulled into a parking spot on the side of the road. Once her Porsche's engine was off and her car fell silent, she simply sat there and looked at the apartment complex. Chuck and Casey were in there waiting for her, they were waiting on her for an urgent meeting and yet Sarah just couldn't muster a damn to give about it. Another urgent meeting, another mission, more lies, more killing, more, more, more. This was the life she chose, but did she really have a choice? She had been cornered by Graham in more ways than one. She didn't have any legal guardian to watch out for her in that moment, she'd just seen her father get arrested, she was underage, nothing about what happened to her gave her any choice.
Fast forward ten years and her twenties had almost entirely passed her by without so much as a care; she was an adult who'd never really gotten to be an adult. Of course, she'd had her share of romantic partners over the years and she'd had a lot of fun with her friends, the few she had, but it wasn't a fulfilling life. Chuck had changed that in a matter of speaking, he was like a breath of fresh air after hours spent underwater breathing compressed air through a rebreather. Chuck Bartowski was everything Sarah never knew she was missing from her life; he was a fun, caring, a genuine person. His family had welcomed her into their lives with open arms, simply because Chuck liked her; she had been welcomed into their lives and it had felt great.
Sarah had never really belonged to anything in her life before she was basically drafted into the CIA, but with Chuck she felt like she was part of a family. It was nice spending time with him and his family, which was probably why all of her damn dreams were about Chuck these days, sexual or otherwise. She'd slept better since her assignment in Burbank began, her usual reoccurring nightmares had stayed away, replaced by dreams of her nerd. Lately her dreams had taken a turn for the amorous, many nights in dreamland were spent exploring her sexual desires with a certain curly haired nerd. As Sarah could attest, the dream version of her nerd was certainly creative.
Creative was a word for it, but in truth Dream Chuck was just a dirty little fucker; part of her was quietly concerned at how often she was having sex dreams lately, but then again, she hadn't gotten any in what felt like ages. Her lack of quality time was becoming more obvious and the near constant sex dreams was doing nothing but make it worse. Couple that with the week the team had had and everything was just kind of piling up around them.
Sarah shook her head to get her mind back in the present and exited her car; in mere moments she'd jogged into the courtyard and knocked on Casey's front door. It was a few seconds before the door opened to Casey's stoic face.
"What took you so long?" Casey asked gruffly, Sarah simply eyed the Major.
"My hair was still in curlers," Sarah said sarcastically as she pushed Casey out of the way and entered his apartment; Casey simply grumbled as he closed the door and locked it behind her. As Sarah's eyes met Chuck's she couldn't help but give him a bright smile, he stood up with a cup of coffee in his hand, but his smile seemed forced, like it was for everyone else's benefit and wasn't an accurate reflection of how he actually felt. She couldn't blame him though, he'd had a rough five days, which was partly her fault.
"Morning Sarah," Chuck said as he offered her the coffee, which she accepted gratefully with a nod of her head.
"Hey Chuck, did you flash during the night or something?" Sarah asked before she took a sip of the aforementioned coffee; of course Chuck had made her coffee perfectly, it was like he had an encyclopedia of her likes and dislikes. That didn't surprise Sarah at all though, Chuck had made it his mission to get to know her.
"No, I had a pretty quiet night," Chuck said mutedly, Sarah wanted to ask Chuck if he wanted to talk about whatever was bothering him, but she didn't have time to ask as Casey interjected.
"Whatever is going on has nothing to do with us," Casey said before he went to his computer and started the conference call. Sarah quickly set her coffee cup down on the table and stood at attention like Casey. The screen lit up and General Beckman appeared, looking rather grumpy this particular morning.
"Good morning, team," General Beckman began.
"General," The three members of Team Intersect replied.
"Before we begin, I need to inform you all that Langston Graham will not be joining us for this morning or any other morning going forward." Chuck, Sarah, and Casey all exchanged a brief look as the General continued. "As you all may have heard in the news, a batch of classified documents was leaked to the press last night. Among the leaks was a file containing documentation of Langston Graham's recruiting practices during his tenure with the CIA." Sarah's heart skipped a beat as she heard that; she still remembered her recruitment and how illegal it was in hindsight.
"The names of his recruits were kept secret, but his propensity to find underage men and women in legal trouble and recruit them under duress was revealed to the public. The Senate Intelligence Committee is holding a hearing on the matter this afternoon, which I have to attend. What this means going forward is that the Intersect Project and all personnel will be folded into the NSA's jurisdiction to avoid bringing a new director into the mix." That caught everyone's attention.
"Sorry for interrupting, but what about me General, I'm an intelligence officer of the CIA?" Sarah asked in confusion, General Beckman simply nodded.
"No worry's Agent Walker, I anticipated your question; going forward you've been transferred to the NSA and will serve alongside Major Casey. Upon review it would seem that Langston slowed or outright kept you from being promoted to Special Agent at least four separate times," General Beckman said much to Sarah's anger.
