It was a slightly chilly day in Secaucus. MLB Network shares a complex in Secaucus with NHL Network. It's a large complex, with MLB on one side and NHL on the other. There are plenty of spaces that are rarely in use.
One of MLB Network's finest talents is beautiful, dark haired Lauren Shehadi. Lauren, a former softball player with nice round boobs and tit-length hair, is a regular on both their in-season show, "MLB Central" and their off-season show, "Hot Stove."
Lauren is definitely the heat of Hot Stove. She's sometimes nicknamed "She-hottie."
Lauren has segments throughout the show, with spans of time in between. On this particular day, she wore a chocolate brown V-neck dress with a hemline right at the knee, and shoes that matched. The dress buttoned down the front, from the V neck almost down to the hemline.
Lauren was doing a segment when the buckle on her shoe broke. Finishing the segment, she carried her shoes to her office.
"Hey, Lauren," I said. "What's up?"
"My shoe broke. On the air." Lauren's hair flew as she shook her head. "One of my favorite pairs. Dero and RoFlo were joking about it," referring to her co-hosts Mark DeRosa and Robert Flores.
"Hm," I said. "I hope you have a backup pair."
"Yeah, I keep a couple of pairs in my office, just in case." Lauren opened the door to her office. I quietly followed her in. She put the broken shoes on the floor, pulled out another pair, and put them on.
"That works," she said.
"Let me take a look at the old ones," I said. "I'm no cobbler and no metalworker, but I fixed something like this for someone once." Lauren grinned.
"OK, give it a shot," she said. "I've got another segment to do." Lauren rushed out of her office, headed back to the studio.
Fortunately, she had a TV in the office, so I flipped it on to watch lovely Lauren's segment as I worked on her shoe. I was so focused on Lauren that I almost forgot the shoe, but I continued working on it and I got it done. I simply fixed the buckle.
Her segment over, Lauren returned. "I'm off until the closing segment," she said.
Lauren noticed the shoe. "Fixed it," she said.
"Well, it should be functional until you can get it to a shoe repair," I said. Lauren smiled.
