Kang the Conqueror vanished in a swirling vortex of red energy, supposedly defeated by Scott Lang the Ant-Man and Hope Van Dyne, also known as the Wasp. The Quantum Realm seemed safe from the time-traveling, Multiverse villain for the moment. The auxiliary Avengers returned home, believing they saved the day. Marvel villains are notoriously hard to kill, just ask Thor's brother and foe Loki the Trickster, Captain America's old enemy Red Skull, and Spiderman's Multiverse foe the original Green Goblin. Why should Kang the Conqueror, the cream of the crop of villainy, be any different?
"Free at last," Kang the Conqueror said to himself as he materialized on Earth 616, somewhere on that world's version of the Continent of Africa. The stocky, muscular Black man looked around and saw that he was in an equatorial jungle, somewhere in Eastern Africa. Satisfied after making sure that his enemies Ant-Man and the Wasp were nowhere to be seen, Kang allowed himself a smile. The Avengers can be such a bore. Kang got away scot-free, pun intended. He'd lost the Time Chair but his Armor, and his Replicator were intact. With the Replicator, Kang would use any metallic structures or energy sources to fashion whatever Tech he needed. No big deal.
"Don't move," said Okoye, and the tall, curvy and muscular Black woman hefted her high-Tech spear as she surged toward Kang. The Dora Milaje, Wakanda's fiercest warriors stepped out of the woods and surrounded Kang. In spite of himself, Kang was impressed. A dozen well-armed Black women wearing red and gold armor surrounded him. Kang had done his homework and knew he must be in the high-Tech African nation of Wakanda. For centuries Wakanda hid its true power from the rest of the world. Kang learned about Wakanda by visiting it in the thirty first century. A very cool place...
"The Dora Milaje, strong Black women of Wakanda, you have nothing to fear from me," Kang said as he raised his hands in the air. Okoye kept her spear trained on Kang and then exchanged a look with Aneka. The tall, athletic and dark-skinned, bald-headed younger African female warrior pursed her lips. The spies of Wakanda kept track of major events around the world, and of course knew of major heroes and villains. They kept watch over potential threats such as the Inhumans, the X-Men, the Avengers, the Sanctum Sanctorum, Spiderman, Daredevil, The Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and many more. Kang was unknown to them...
"I've got a bad feeling about this man," Aneka said, and only a look from Okoye kept her from spearing Kang with her Vibranium lance. Kang breathed a sigh of relief as Okoye gestured for two of her warrior women to snap cuffs on him. Kang could easily undo the cuffs since twenty first century Technology is laughably primitive but he kept his cool. No need for the warrior women of Wakanda to know exactly how dangerous Kang is. The Multiverse villain made the mistake of underestimating Ant-Man and the Wasp, and lost the Quantum Realm as a result. Kang is a man who learns from his mistakes.
"Whoever you are, you're in custody of the Dora Milaje for an incursion on Wakandan soil, don't try anything," Okoye said firmly. Kang nodded, and the African female warriors led him to an airship that was conveniently cloaked nearby. Kang smiled as the airship decloaked and then he was led inside. The airship took off, carrying Kang and the Dora Milaje to the Capital City of the Kingdom of Wakanda. Within half an hour, the airship landed at a military station within view of the Royal Palace of Wakanda.
"Your Technology is impressive," Kang said as Okoye, Aneka and the other Dora Milaje warriors led him inside. In Kang's version of the future, Technology is far more advanced but the Tech of Wakanda was impressive nonetheless. Kang was taken to a holding cell and interrogated and of course, he revealed precious little. The Wakandans searched Kang for weapons and found none. They foolishly let him keep his high-Tech suit and trinkets. Kang kept calm, cool and collected. The Afro-Futurist villain knows how to turn any situation to his advantage. Wakanda was an obstacle to Kang's plans but it might also be a great opportunity...
"Doesn't look very impressive," Lord M'Baku said as he watched footage of Kang pacing back and forth in his cell. The leader of the Jabari tribe frowned and then looked at his ally and friend Princess Shuri. The Princess, recently returned from her trip to the Island of Haiti, where she met with her friend Nakia, sighed while looking at the Jabari leader. Princess Shuri would rather be gallivanting around the world, fighting bad guys and bad girls as the New Black Panther instead of worrying about matters of state. It's what a superheroine does in the modern world.
"There's something ominous about this man, he is too calm," Princess Shuri said, and Lord M'Baku nodded in agreement. After fighting side by side against various enemies, ranging from Thanos legion of alien warriors to the aquatic humanoids of Talocan led by King Namor, Lord M'Baku had a lot of respect for Princess Shuri and vice versa. The tall, lithe young African woman had gone through a lot in recent years. Princess Shuri lost her father King T'Chaka, her older brother King T'Challa and her mother Queen Raymonda. When will her trials and tribulations end? Lord M'Baku wished he could protect Princess Shuri from the world, but she won't let him...
"Let's go pay him a visit," Lord M'Baku said and Princess Shuri nodded. With a proper escort of Dora Milaje warriors including Okoye and Aneka, they went to the holding area. In his cell, Kang played with his trinkets. One of his favorite weapons was the Subjugator, which could alter the minds of his opponents by altering their hormones for a brief time. The Subjugator was capable of unleashing an invisible, odorless agent into the air and it had a range of five kilometers. Kang waited until the Wakandans returned to further interrogate him before he unleashed his insidious high-Tech weapon...
"Gotcha," Kang thought to himself, and he grinned as the Wakandans returned. Princess Shuri, Lord M'Baku, Okoye and Aneka arrived, along with several well-armed women and well-armed men. Kang almost felt a pang of regret at the prospect of using his Technology against the women and men of a scientifically advanced Black civilization. As a Black man from the future, Kang has a lot of respect for the Kingdom of Wakanda and what it represents. It's a shame that the people of Wakanda see Kang the Conqueror as their enemy.
Kang the Conqueror is the embodiment of Black power and Black achievement, something that the modern world still struggles against. Many still believe that power belongs to Europeans, Latinos and Asians or Arabians, but not to Black men and Black women. Such views are outdated and downright wrong. In the future, brilliant Black men and Black women rule the world, and Eurocentric power structures are relics of the distant past. The future belongs to people of color. They are the majority on the Planet Earth. Kang is the ultimate Afro-Futurist, and Wakanda has done much to be worthy of his admiration and respect. Of course, pangs of regret won't stop Kang from taking advantage of any situation. It's what Kang does...
"Watch out," Okoye shouted as Kang activated his trinket, and unleashed the Subjugator. The invisible, fast-acting and odorless agent worked swiftly through every man and woman in the room. Okoye, Aneka, Princess Shuri and Lord M'Baku caught the brunt of it. The agent didn't stop there. It spread throughout the building. It went beyond the building and spread throughout the Capital City of Wakanda. Its effects on the locals was most unexpected...
