One more week I thought to myself, one more week and I'd be married. Time had flown by. First a year, then six months, a month now down to a week. I could barely believe it. I could barely believe I was with the guys, and it was my bachelor party. The four of us sat down finishing dinner at an expensive restaurant. Just desert and drinks and that would be it. It was good. A little dull maybe, but good. Maggie had been clear in her instructions to Mark my best man. Absolutely no trouble on our weekend away and no strippers. It was fine really, mostly anyway. A little excitement might have been nice I'd thought. I kind of hoped that they still had some surprises up their sleeves but I wasn't sure. I'm not sure they wanted to risk it.
I finished the wine in front of me and paused to look around. The restaurant we were in was nice. Expensive of course but nice. I supposed the benefit of no strippers to pay for meant that it was easier to cover the bill. It was a quiet night though not too many tables were being used. Even as I thought that I saw another party emerge from a door to the side, a private area maybe. A few figures emerged one after the other smiling laughing and then a rather familiar looking blonde strode out.
I did a double take staring for a moment. I mean it wasn't every day you saw literal music royalty especially when it happened to be your fiancée's favourite singer. Before I even realised what I was doing I had stood up and started crossing over towards them. Probably a stupid idea of course something that I thought even more as a large figure, security no doubt moved to intercept. I made it a few feet away and held up my hands hardly believing what I was doing. I shared a look with her security guard and then let my attention drift back towards the singer herself. It was something she was used to, I was sure. Normally I probably wouldn't have done it. But I was getting married in a week and my soon to be wife had fewer things she liked quite as much as Taylor's music. It was too good an opportunity to pass up.
The lady in question watched me warily, no doubt well used to this kind of attention. Behind me I could feel the guys staring probably wondering what trouble I was getting myself into it. But this wasn't the kind of thing that would probably happen every day. I might as well chance my luck while I could.
"Heh, Ms Swift, Taylor. I'm sorry to interrupt and break up you're evening. I probably wouldn't normally but I'm having a party tonight, bachelor party really and my fiancée is a huge fan of yours. We're getting married next week, I don't suppose I could grab a quick picture or something for her at all. She'd be blown away." I probably garbled half the words as I spoke but the meaning at least I think I managed to get out.
She looked me over calmly her eyes just watching taking everything in and then just glanced to one side meeting her guard I thought. They seemed to share something he took a step back although he hovered close by watching studiously as I dared to take another step closer towards her. Ahead her friends had paused waiting for her as well and I knew I had to be quick.
"Sure, a quick one and then I have to be moving on." She replied her voice warm and rich as she spoke. I smiled gratefully and just took a breath.
"Honestly that's more than enough it's just something for her. Maggie, my fiancée. She's a huge fan, she'll just get such a kick out of it and then probably be wondering how I got so lucky in meeting you instead of her." I pulled out my phone and carefully stepped closer just moving around to her side as I brought up the camera. I looked at her again hoped it was reassuring and then took a step closer before I had a quick look to centre the shot.
I hoped it looked good and then quickly snapped of a few in quick succession trusting that one of them would do. Then once I had finished, I quickly stepped clear of her. I just looked at her and smiled again relieved as much as anything already knowing Maggie would be made up to hear of this.
"Thank you so much Taylor. She's going to love it."
Taylor nodded again and smiled, just a small dip of her head as she looked at me. "No problem, enjoy the rest of your night. Try not to get into too much trouble."
I smiled ruefully at her and then just turned to look at the guys. They were all watching us grinning. This was probably as exciting as the evening was going to get. Turning my attention back to Taylor I shook my head. "I don't think so. This is probably as exciting as our evening is going to get. We'll finish here and then head back to the hotel, I think. Enjoy a drink there and probably turn in for the night. We're under strict orders to behave, no wild stuff."
"Ah well in that case I hope you enjoy the evening, and your fiancée enjoys the photo." She looked me over for a brief moment longer smiling as she did, and then with a final nod of her head turned away to rejoin her group.
I was to stunned and distracted looking at the photo I'd just taken to see ahead of me one of her party spin off and speak to one of my friends. She made a note of something on her phone and then slipped away. I was too busy sending the photo to my fiancée who I knew was going to be overjoyed.
...............................
Back at the hotel we enjoyed relaxing mostly either talking or else just playing a few games of cards and enjoying the complimentary bar on offer. Not exactly a wild way to celebrate my last few days of being free from the chains of being married but it was nothing that was likely to upset Maggie anyway.
I'd half wondered when they planned the getaway whether they'd still manage to spring some surprises on me for the trip. They had albeit nothing that was likely to get me in trouble with Maggie. They knew her well enough and decided it was better not to run that risk. It had all been pretty safe and quiet. Some sightseeing, some shopping a few nights out, enjoying a club and a casino and then dinner tonight. Nothing at all spectacular about it. Now I was back in my room alone for the night. Tomorrow we'd head back, mission accomplished having avoided trouble and with a relatively fun time being had. Just as I was contemplating myself on such great behaviour the door rang. Probably one of the guys, something they'd forgotten. I quickly stood up, crossed over and opened it up. I didn't even check first before opening it. The last thing I expected to see however was the blonde pop princess from earlier tonight.
I stood eyes blinking and wondering if it was actually seeing things, but then the woman in question who was smiling gently spoke up.
"Hi, do you mind letting me I try to avoid to many public shows like this one, never sure when there is someone with a camera waiting to get a picture."
I blinked slowly and then her words sunk in. Quickly I scrambled back out of the way. "Shit, of course. Please come in take a seat, can I get you anything?" I asked stumbling over my words as I fought to regain my balance.
"A glass of wine will be fine." She answered moving into the room and peering around as she did.
I moved quickly around behind the small mini bar and took out a bottle from inside. I had no idea what it was like, but it would do for now. Then I took out a couple of glasses, cracked the bottle open and poured the wine. I left the bottle on the counter and carried the glasses across to the sofa where Taylor had finally settled down.
