Best of Blue Bloods Part 19
Season 6 Episode 20
A group from Ireland arrive in New York City to dedicate a statue to the Irish police who have served in the city over the past 150 years. In the meeting were a number of Irish police, the president of Ireland and for the American's Erin from the DA's office and Frank from the NYPD.
After the meeting Chief Farrelly (Charles Mesure) caught up with Erin in the lobby, "I have a favor. My father was murdered here in New York City back in 1974."
She replied,"I'm so sorry."
"Now, we immediately moved back to Ireland after that, but I was wondering, by any chance could you give me what you have on his case?"
She nodded,"Sure, I'll look into it for you."
The elevator opened and Erin turned to get in and he replied, "Thanks."
She gave him a weak smile, "Sure."
Across town, Danny was back on the trail of Thomas Wilder. They found multiple bodies and connected then to him. Danny swore this time, he wouldn't get away.
In another part of town, Jamie and Eddie came upon a standoff where a guy with a machete was swinging it around and cut his girlfriend. Another cop, a rookie was there too and they tried to disarm him. Eddie came around behind him while Jamie tried to distract him. She got out her nightstick and managed to slap at his wrist, causing him to drop the knife. They arrested him, and the rookie cop came over and thanked them for defusing the situation. He shook their hand and he spoke up, "You're Nicky's uncle."
He looked at the rookie and you're, "She's.. We're...."
Jamie figured it out, "Oh,okay, copy that."
Anthony did some investigating for Erin and found out that Farrelly's father, Patrick got into a gunfight on July 2. 1974 with a James McGee.
He walked with Erin towards her office, "It looks like McGee shot Farrelly outside of a bar on 41st and Amsterdam. Farrelly returned fire, they both got arrested. Both were charged with attempted murder."
Erin looked at Anthony, Attempted murder?"
"Yeah, Farrelly took four bullets.... and survived."
Erin was stunned, "Wait, he's still alive?"'
Anthony nodded, "He was convicted of racketeering and three counts of murder, and he's doing life in Sing Sing."
Erin flopped down at her desk, "Okay, well, this is.... not at all what I expected."
Anthony added, "You probably shouldn't have volunteered to look into it for him."
She was still in shock, "Thanks for rubbing it in. What am I supposed to say? That your mother's been lying to you your entire life and your father's a gangster?"
"No, you don't. You wait for him to go back to Ireland and then you send him an e-mail."
"I can't do that. If your father was a gangster, would you want to find out by e-mail?"
Anthony scoffed, "My father was a gangster and I found out when I was 13."
This was news to Erin, "Your father was a gangster?"
He shrugged, "Well, a bookie. Tony "The Bat." And guess what he liked to use on people who didn't pay up. Anyway, the point is that I got over it, and I even became a cop, but he don't know how this guy is gonna react to that, and the fact that his dad is still alive? I say we don't find out."
She wasn't convinced, "No, I-I... I have to tell him to his face."
Anthony threw his hands up, "Of course you do."
He started walking out, but she stopped him, "What is that supposed to mean?"
He turned back to her, "It means, as Tony "The Bat" would say, you always step up to the plate." He turned and left her office.
Later that evening, Nicky and her rookie cop friend were heading back to her place. They walked hand in hand and he was eager to tell her about the day he had with her uncle, "The guy was hopped up on something. He was insane, so he had this huge knife. As soon as I got to the scene, I though, this guy's a dead man. But your uncle.... took him down with no injuries."
"Yeah, Uncle Jamie's always been the one with the most patience. He was my first and I was so glad. He took his time and I never, ever experienced anything like him before that."
He looked at her and he couldn't believe how hot she looked. She was wearing a very short, black flowered print dress with black tights. The skirt ended mid-thigh and the bodice was open, to expose her firm breasts. Her hair was getting longer now and it was pulled up in a sexy ponytail. He continued, "Watching him, I was just pumped."
She chuckled, "Then what?"
"Oh, when it was all over, we introduced ourselves. I told him about us."
She stopped on the sidewalk, "Wait, what? You told him we're going out?" She stared up at him with those large, doe-like brown eyes. Her lips were as plump as always and were coated in pink lip-gloss.
"Well, I tried to dodge, but he guessed."
She was upset, "Please tell me you're kidding."
"What did you want me to lie?":
"I wanted you not to volunteer anything."
Now he was upset, "Why, are you embarrassed of me or something?"
She shook her head, "Okay, it's just... they're totally overprotective. You don't know my family. Okay, let's forget about them and head home."
