Best of Blue Bloods Part 7
Season 2 Episode 20
Erin Reagan was chosen by the D.A. to head up the prosecution of a big time mobster. It was a high profile case and it even caught the eye of the mayor, Cater Poole. He set up a meeting with her father, Frank, the police commissioner and at the meeting he laid his cards on the table.
"As you know Frank, my deputy mayor recently resigned and I'm looking for a replacement."
Frank chuckled, "I surely can't be the one you pegged for that position, Mr. Mayor."
Carter smiled at him and shook his head, "No, you are way to effective as police commissioner and I'd be afraid you would outshine me and take my place at the next election. I do have someone in mine and she is very, very close to you." He pointed at the TV screen he had frozen. It showed Erin at a recent press conference, "I'd love to have Erin as my deputy mayor. She is tough and I know she would have my back. What do you think about it?"
"Ah, well, don't you think there may be a conflict of interest with the two departments?"
He shook his head, "I'd make it clear as far as police matters, I'd handle them and she would head up the other departments."
Frank nodded, "In that case, I think she would be fantastic. You just have to convince her. I'm on board with the idea."
Great, Frank, I really appreciate the endorsement, I'll set up a meeting with her."
Frank left and he wondered if she would accept the position, especially after what they experience back a few months ago with Carrie Underwood in the hotel suite.
Erin had a difficult position arise. Her main witness against the monster got cold feet and refused to testify against the monster. To make matters worse, he pushed aside his security detail and headed out to California to meet up with his family. He didn't make it two blocks from his hotel room and he was gunned down.
Danny Reagan, Erin's brother managed to find Sophia, the victim's nanny to testify. She heard the disturbance and poked her head out just in time to see the mobster commit the murder. She was afraid she would end up like the other witness and after assurance she would be under guard, she was hesitant to testify. She tried to tell them she didn't see anything.
Jackie Curatola (Jennifer Esposito), Danny's partner sat her down, "Look, Sophia, um.... you know, maybe you remember something now that, you didn't before."
Erin chimed it, "I know you're scared, Sophia. Uri Denko's hurt a lot of people. And he's gonna continued to hurt people unless we do something about it. But in order to do that, I need you to tell me the truth."
Sophia (Alexia Rasmussen) bit her lip and looked down and thought about it hard. She looked at her hands and let out a deep breath, "I heard them break through the back door. I came downstairs....just as they shot Mrs. Ostrovski. They put...put a gun to her head.... and killed her."
Erin leaned forward, "So you saw Uri Denko shoot Mrs. Ostrovsky?"
Sophia stared at Erin, she closed her eyes and whispered out, "Yes."
Erin looked to Danny, "The detectives are going to stay with you, Sophia. They'll protect you until you testify."
Sophia looked to Jackie and Jackie nodded, "We're going to keep you safe."
Sophia wasn't so sure, "Just like Me. Ostrovsky?"
Erin got the call and went to the mayor's office to meet with Carter Poole. She still got a tingling in her loins from the night she spent with her father, Carrie Under wood and the new mayor. She was wearing a high necked silky light brown blouse and a dark brown pencil skirt. Just to tease him, before she went to meet him, she removed her bra and teased her nipples. They pressed against the soft material of her blouse and it was easy to see she wasn't wearing a bra now.
Cater ushered her into the office and even before closing the door he looked to the secretary, "No interruptions please." He led Erin into the office, "I'm not going to beat around the bush Erin, I want you as my Deputy Mayor."
Erin was floored and she took a seat on the plush chair behind her, "Deputy Mayor? Wow. That's an incredible opportunity. Why me? I'm sure you have more qualified candidates."
He came over to her, "I want a fresh voice Someone smart...independent...who gets things done." He took a seat on the chair across from her."
Erin saw him glance down at her shapely legs. She crossed them slowly, allowing her skirt to ride up higher on her thigh. "I appreciate the confidence."
He continued, "The Deputy Mayor of Operations is my eyes and ears in the major agencies: Police, Fire, Emergency Management--"
Erin added, "Sanitation."
He chuckled, "I never said it was all glamorous..."
"Well, you know that I've never worked in city government. I've always been a prosecutor."
He leaned forward, "That's exactly right. You take a position, and you convince a group of strangers to see things your way."
She leaned forward, "Yes, but these are not jurors. They are firemen, paramedics, cops..."
He cut her off, "Your family is steeped in city service. You speak the language. and you don't back down."
